I will never go here again. I went in for a new prescription for my glasses and then went in a couple weeks later for a new prescription for my contacts. The contact lens doctor could not figure out my perscription and kept saying that my eyes were a «mystery» because my recent glasses prescription didn’t match what he was seeing then. He did not dig any deeper. He ordered various prescription trial contact lenses. A week later I noticed my vision was terrible. I went back to Oregon Eye Specialists and got a new doctor who said I had keratitis and did no patient education with me. She gave me a sample of eye drops and said that should last me 10 days(which they did not). The contact lense eye doctor should have questioned why my vision was so off. I ended up going back a few more times to track my keratitis. Each time the doctor would give me a new different eye glass prescription and tell me it’s OK to get new glasses with that perscription. Luckily I had enough sense not to get new glasses until my vision stablized. Otherwise I would have a bunch of eye glasses with the wrong script. This is the condensed version. There were many many more mistakes on there part.

Very frustrating experience. 2 hrs 45 minutes. From one sit and wait chair to another. Lots of patients complaining. Spent 2 minutes with Dr Harden. .unapologetic about wait time. Actually told me I could leave if I wanted to. Stay away from this place.

I used to see Dr. Laird here but he is retired. Since this clinic had my records from previous injuries I chose to continue to come here. I went on 5÷22÷15 to determine if I needed glasses. The state required my vision be checked. I am unemployed and the state was covering the expenses. I initially got a rude phone call from the receptionist when they had placed me in the wrong time slot and I was going to have to have my eyes dilated for two visits instead of one. Their error! When it was corrected the receptionist said, «Now you have no excuse to not come. You are not going to reschedule on this time.» as if this error was mine. Since it was being paid for by the state, I was treated like I was a child that needed to be managed by their office the entire time I was there. I was told I was not entitled to any information from the visit. I got no care instructions for going home or a patch for my eye after being examined. I saw Dr. Lyons who became focused on the wrong issues in my opinion. The next day I had a blood shot eye, the eye was throbbing, and still that one eye was dilated and remained that way through Saturday. I called the answering service at 11:45 a.m. Saturday and no one returned my call. I called back to complain at 6:00 p.m. and finally I got signs of professionalism and a true doctor that was concerned about my visit and the symptoms I was experiencing. Dr. Brown put my mind to ease and paraphrased my visit in a way that was more positive than Dr. Lyons. If Dr. Lyons had carefully read the charts on me she would have seen I suffer from severe anxiety and she only added to it in her poor handling and poor communications during my visit. She also erroneously concluded the pressure difference in my eye was disease related and not related to the injuries. «Eye trauma. An injury to the eye can affect the balance of aqueous production and drainage from the eye, possibly leading to ocular hypertension. Sometimes this can occur months or years after the injury. During your routine eye exams, be sure to mention to your doctor if you have experienced any eye trauma recently or in the past.» It was right there in my file Dr. Lyons! And I don’t have a medical degree and even I knew that. Millions of shards of sharp plant matter entered my eye at 35 miles or more per hour and a rusty nail entered my eye years ago. And I got kicked in both eyes by a small child with a heavy cowboy boot. Not a good experience at all. Thanks Dr. Brown for cleaning all their mess up! You are like Dr. Laird in your professionalism.

I first saw Dr. Lyons about 10 years ago. After being hit by a car, I had several plastic surgeries around one eye that did not turn out very well. I saw Dr. Lyons who recommended a different surgeon and also diagnosed an unrecognized infection. Getting better was a slow process but Dr. Lyons was always there, figuring out the best thing to do next. I appreciate all she has done for me. My insurance has always covered by visits so I don’t know their price range.

I regret choosing Oregon Eye Specialists. I found them through VSP as one of their Première members. The staff and doctor are friendly enough, but I have had a terrible time getting in touch with them via phone. They almost never answer and it gets forwarded to an answering service. They were supposed to follow up with me and never did, and so I am now having to call repeatedly to try and get through to get my prescription. Their selection of frames is limited, and what they do have is not at all exciting. Oh and the stereotype of having to wait ½ hour or more at a doctor’s office when you arrive on time? They are definitely perpetuating it. Avoid this place.

I went here for my first eye checkup and glasses. The checkup was ok. They prescribed progressive lenses. Which were just awful. When i complained they told me to get used to them. I nearly fell down the stairs. Fast forward, new optometrist, different clinic. When i complained about the new glasses, she brought me back in immediately and retested. I had a rare 20⁄20 cataract and required surgery to place an IOL. I can finally see right again. These people did not serve me well. First don’t prescribe progressive lenses. They are awful for many of us. Ask us how we are going to use the glasses. Are we driving all day, reading, looking at a computer? Give us appropriate glasses. Listen when we complain.
