Nice guy who owns the place and he makes the food as ordered. However both times I’ve had lunch here I’ve been disappointed. Sushi was very basic, nothing to talk about. Second visit I had the sesame chicken, oh my gosh the sauce was very thick and tart. Like sour tart. I couldn’t or want to finish it. Perhaps other menu items are better, but I’m not willing to give it a try a third time.

It was good, but not great. No issues with the taste of things, but the value could have been a little better. I will likely go back here as there are few good Chinese food places here in Portland.

While I’ve only ever had the chicken fried rice, it’s by far, hands down the best damn fried rice I’ve ever had! The owner is friendly too!

My better judgment tells me that ordering sushi from a cart is probably not the brightest idea. Thankfully, my hunger won over my logic and I grabbed an 8-piece Alaskan Roll from PFE recently. At only $ 6, I wasn’t expecting the world, but I did end up pleasantly surprised about the kind service and I especially enjoyed being able to watch him make my food right there. The roll ended up being quite delicious(although a bit too much cream cheese for my liking) and I will definitely be stopping back to try some of their amazingly inexpensive offerings.

I’m Chinese and I like Chinese food. Well, I like other food too… but I love going to this food cart for their curry chicken and chicken yakisoba. It’s inexpensive, pretty quick, and satisfying. I sometimes call ahead and just pick up my order so I don’t have to stand in the rain.

Went here while doing jury duty. $ 5 bought me a giant portion of spicy garlic tofu which should have been called salty tofu because that’s all I could taste.

I never would have come to this cart if not for a recommendation. I have now found my go to inexpensive, but good place to get Yakisoba. This cart sits right next to Mother’s bistro. It isn’t one of the hot and trendy carts that have lines around the corner, but the food here(all cooked to order) is very good. Of course I can only base this on the Chinese Yakisoba($ 5) that I had, but if the rest of what is coming out of this window is half as good, this place is a real find. For $ 5 you get a really nice portion. I now know where I’m going in the future when my wallet is a bit light.

I’m not a sushi eater so I can’t comment on that, but the chinese food is great for satisfying the craving on the cheap. I’m not crazy about the deep fried, saucy options but the stir-fry style dishes are great. He makes everything to order, veggies are fresh and he doesn’t overcook them to the point that they kind of all blend together, a frequent issue with this style of chinese food. At $ 5 a pop, it’s a pretty good deal. I don’t really eat rice(I just kind of pick at it if it’s there) so it’s a single serving meal for me, but you could probably stretch it out to two.

I love this place. The owner is friendly(I think his name is Peter but I’ve never introduced myself but he always remembers my usual order) and he cooks everything fresh to order. I always get the brocoli chicken and it’s only $ 5! I always tip him though cause he does it all there. I definitely recommend this place if you work nearby or if you happen to be down at these carts on 3rd& Stark. You can’t beat the price here and you always get your food freshly made in a healthy portion.

One of my friends decided to get the large(8-piece) spicy tuna roll($ 4.99). I sampled a piece of sushi and just shook my head in disapproval. In spicy tuna sushi, the tuna(and spices) must be the star, and here, it wouldn’t have even made it to the casting calls. The tuna did not taste very fresh and did not have much flavor. I didn’t even taste any spice in the spicy tuna itself(although my friend could sense it). The rice was average at best. On the piece I ate, I felt some of the rice was a tad overcooked/mushier than I would have wanted it. The avocado enhanced the creamy texture of the sushi, but I would have wanted something crunchy(like cucumber) instead to take the sushi to the next level. At least the toasted sesame seeds on the rice brought texture and flavor to the dance. I realize that this place is also a Chinese food cart. But when you’re advertising sushi as part of your food cart name, that sushi better be good, too.

I was craving not-too-expensive sushi and a stroll on the waterfront so I decided to stop by this food cart. I was nervous to try sushi from a food cart for the first time but my Alaska roll turned out pretty good. I was nervous about the salmon but it was pretty fresh and tasted good. I would say the quality is about the same as Sushiland but the portion was bigger. Overall pretty decent for the price! I would probably go again to try some of their other sushi options :)

Briefs: I was advised against eating sushi from a food cart but continued to brave the impending I’m not convinced that food carts are capable of serving sushi. I’ve never experience so much stomach pains than after eating a tuna hand roll at PFE. And even if it wasn’t the tuna roll(I’ve been eating all day), I still have my doubts about PFE. Specifically, the fish was still frozen — ice crystals and all. I suppose the only redeeming thing about the tuna roll was its generous portion. [Original Visit: December 20, 2010]

I’ve just came back into town and found that 3rd ave has become a food cart paradise! and one of these carts is PFE, which serves one of the best asian food fusion i’ve ever tasted. i’ve tried their alaskan roll and it was the best sushi ever. i can’t believe i was having it from a food cart! this cart is very clean, the chef was extremely nice. they have a variety of asian food — chinese, japanese, and korean, i think(i have to check again). if you’re in the area, give this place a shot. it’s really good.

I had a great experience here today. The sushi chef was extremely friendly and gave me $ 7 worth of sushi even though I told him I only had $ 6 with me. It wasn’t the best sushi I’ve ever had but definitely good. It was fun to see my sushi made right in front of me. Check this place out!

totally beats grocery store rolls, and for a lesser price. the cart name is slightly off-putting, and a lot of the rolls weirdly feature cream cheese, but if you haven’t the time for sit-down sushi, you’re in for a tasty treat!

I had the Tuna Roll on the soft open yesterday. It was really good for the price and had really good composition. The Sushi Chef’s were very nice and served me quickly. The roll had a Panko coating which was a nice texture treat. I would really like to see them do well so check them out. Don’t be wary because it’s a food cart. They know what there doing.
