Fences. My dad always built them when I still lived at home, and I’ve always watched neighbors build them and even fight over them(one of the most ajudicated issues in America((right up there with dog bites)). Turns out we need to have a new long, long fence built clear down one side of the property here. Our next door homeowner is a pretty good guy to deal with, so thankfully that’s not an issue. There are several levels and some is a tall wooden fence and the other is chain link. Since I don’t speak fluent fence construction, it’s lucky I have someone who can educate me and provide a bid to me. As you may guess, I was glad to meet John from Portland Fence Company yesterday. We walked the property together and discussed things while he did some measurements. He explained things to me in such a way that it was quite clear and I can pass along that info to my manager and also to the property owner pretty clearly. It will be an interesting process, no doubt, but has been made so much easier because I’m working with a real pro.
