Really dig the cold brew and it’s cleaner, nicer, cooler space than the dirty Starbucks at Pioneer Sq. I could definitely see making this my springtime coffee jam when I don’t mind a bit of extra walking. It isn’t exactly on my commute but I’m so glad I gave it a try.

Yummy velvety foamy latte! Cold brew is very very good. They serve you their double shots w/a cookie and sparkling water. Very cool. And they have TWO La Marzocoo’s which is super rad!!!

Great place in downtown Portland. Especially if you like that new urban hipster cool vibe. The place is very sleek and clean. Not that much seating, but I was able to find a table for me and my friends. Nice selection of coffee; my latte was delicious! I love how they big poster in the back explains the difference between lattes, cappuccinos, and other drinks. ps. I really think the barista here also doubles as a lumberman in the summer. I also felt like I needed more tattoos to fit in.

Coffee is good and strong but expensive for a teeny little cup. Service is good. Caramel latter and croissant were good. Clean bathrooms. I would come back.

The barista only gave me a choice of 140 degrees or extra hot no matter how many times I explained that it doesn’t make sense… 140 degrees is too cold and extra hot is well, not an option. She said they didn’t have a thermometer but they knew the temp by the stream/touch. I also asked her if that was only for hot chocolate and she said no for all of our drinks. She wouldn’t budge. I’ve got cold«hot chocolate» and a bad first impression for $ 3.50

Excellent service and ambiance! Hip, chill and classy, the casual environment and cool music make your stop enjoyable. They served us Smith Teamaker tea which was really rich and delicious. My party chose caffeine free options which were delightful; Peppermint and Big Hibiscus(rose, ginger plus other flavors). They were served hot and steeping so we gave the tea a few minutes to brew and cool down. Pinky up! The shop sells pastries and coffee(duh) but we didn’t try it. You can also purchase coffee beans, equipment and souvenir tumblers. The baristas are nice and attentive. Ask any question and they will do their best to match you with a product or beverage. Really convenient location, close to Nordstrom off Broadway with Alder. Nice alternative to Starbucks and other chains. Enjoy!

Ah man, this place makes me want an Instagram account. I would looks so cool with my baby cappuccino and an almond croissant(kinda kidding, kinda not). The place is great, the cappuccino is so dang good(strong coffee flavor); I tend to order my treat to drink on location and it has such a nice European feel to it. You know? Just to enjoy something for 45 minutes before the daily grind. The coffee is good, miles better than Starbucks. It makes me feel bad for our tourist friends when I see them with a Starbucks cup.

Apparently if they are any where near closing, they shut down the espresso maker early and won’t serve coffee.(We were there at 20 minutes before closing)

Probably the best cappuccino I’ve had in Portland and that is saying something. I just so happened to have an almond milk version and it made little difference, unlike usual.

A bright and cheery looking coffee shop. It looked like the perfect place to duck out of the rain, have a nice cuppa and watch the city pass by. Sadly, it’s a bit of a façade. The staff are indifferent hipsters. The cashier was far more interested in snogging her coworker than looking after customers. Fair enough, but a bit uncomfortable to watch while we waited for her to return to taking orders. On the plus side, the tea, coffee and scone were good, albeit sorta pricey. And absolutely no visible artificial sweeteners. No love for the diabetics? Given the ‘tude mentioned above, just dug into my travel stash of Splenda and sighed.

Came here for coffee while shopping around Pioneer place and was not disappointed! It’s a solid little coffee joint which was surprisingly empty when we went by. They serve the ever popular Stumptown coffee, so come by and grab a drink and rest your legs a bit as you do the whole touristy exploration of Pioneer Place!

Their coffee is really good! It has a unique taste that is a lot different from other coffee places downtown; the coffee is sharp with an almost citrus taste, as compared to Stumptown or Case Study Coffee, which tastes very earthy. They are also one of the few, relatively new, ‘cool’ coffee shops that offer free refills on drip coffee, which is pretty great. The space is nice and has big windows. It can be pretty busy, and most customers don’t stick around. It seems like they cater to people who work in the area, so most people who stick around seem to be talking business. That being said, it’s not a great place to work for an extended period of time. They clearly aren’t trying to be a ‘work place’, considering they have no outlets and they close EARLY even for Portland(5pm). However, this does make sense considering their size and location. Overall, this is a good coffee shop for the area to meet up with someone, people watch and read. The unique tasting coffee is worth trying at least once.

This is a beautiful coffee shop downtown on the corner of Broadway and Alder. They have a wide window that provides ample lighting and a great setting for a friendly vibe. They also have some couch chairs that I really want to study in! I just popped in here with mom for a quick coffee to go, but I’m in love. I got an almond milk latte and the espresso was delicious! The baristas were very friendly. Tip — they don’t upcharge for other types of milk here, like most places!

This was super meh. While the place looked cute from the outside, here’s how my experience went: — Showed up around 4 pm on a Sunday — Waited in line for 10 minutes, with only 1 person ahead of me(???) — 5 or 6 people appeared to be working, but only 1 person ringing people up/taking orders and the rest sort of milling about/pretending to work/ignoring customers — Cashier did not really acknowledge or apologize for sort of ridiculous wait, or really even talk — Waited another 10+ minutes for coffee(???) — Finally got coffee; it was lukewarm and while it was prepared with great care(seriously, the barista was the only person there trying!) I left feeling like I should have just gone to Starbucks

Going on appearances this place seems great. I love the décor and atmosphere of the shop. I ordered a cold brew coffee to go with almond milk. It’s great that they don’t charge extra for almond or soy milk. The coffee was good, but nothing extraordinary. When I went to put my lid on my drink I discovered all of their lids were bent enough that they did not fit. So I decided to stay and people watch for a bit. The main reason I’m rating this place so low is their employees. The girl taking orders barely interacted with customers. She did about bare minimum to take the order. She even was drinking out of a coffee cup while taking orders. I’ve worked in the food business for years and find it to be a big NO to eat or drink when handling others food. Perhaps she had a late night. Later when I asked for the restroom key she basically grunted and pointed for me to ask someone else. Overall it’s a nice clean place that has some nice options.

Coffee was good. Walked in on the afternoon of Sunday. The barista was not very pleasant. He seemed hungover, or simply didn’t like his job. This is customer service your in!!! Always surprises me. Place was kinda dirty and not kept up, and they were far from busy. Free wifi was the nicest plus and great windows for people watching.

Strolling through downtown, eating and shopping all day is hard work. Take a break from your downtown forays and hit up Public Domain. PD has a nice corner location with large windows, making it a great spot for people watching while you sip your mid-day coffee. Their menu isn’t extensive, but their selection is pretty typical for a coffee shop. My small Americano was $ 3 and the wife’s small latte was $ 3.50. The place wasn’t busy when we stopped in at 4:30pm on a Saturday, but perhaps that was because they close at 5pm daily. Seems a bit early, but baristas gotta eat dinner, too. Service wasn’t overly friendly, but hey, they have free WiFi!

I really don’t know what the big deal is about this place, and for the price I probably won’t return. We ordered a cold brew(at $ 3.25!!) and 12 oz. iced latte($ 4.25). My boyfriend ended up tossing his cold brew in the trash. My latte was good, but my main complaint is that instead of pouring my drink over ice, they prepared the drink and then added ice to it. The ice melted almost immediately, turning my drink into lukewarm coffee. The staff was not exactly warm and welcoming either.
