This is an emergency only stop. Prices are in the 1000% above internet range on many, simple things. I came in for two RCA barrels I needed in a pinch. These are maybe $.25 online. At the shack they were $ 7.99 for two. Yikes.

I love this place whenever I need and cell phone, I-pod speakers or general tech advice(which I usually need, since I am not terribly tech-oriented). And my favorite employee is Brittany, the assistant manager at this store, because she is simply brilliant: smart and quick on her feet. Whenever she is working the help she provides is always spot on and she never makes me feel as if my questions are stupid. Plus their prices are as reasonable as Amazon but you are supporting a local franchise. I can’t say the same about the Hollywood store, NE40th Ave. I would stay away from that one(I had one of the most bizarre experiences in bad customer service there and this was from the assistant manager, Annie). I bought a cell phone there(only bec NE6th& Weidler location was sold out) which wasn’t activating correctly. After an hour and they hadn’t resolved it I left and went to 6th and Weidler and Brittany figured it out for me in abt 15 minutes and none of the rude customer service I experienced from the assistant mgr at Hollywood store.

I bought a TV here during the«black Friday» sale last November. My TV broke in February. Luckily I forsaw some occurance like this & was smart enough to buy the extra $ 302 year warranty. The original salesman was very nice & helpful & we were very satisfied with the original sale. Sadly that is where the satisfaction stopped. In February, my husband & I paid off our car & were finally able to afford things like them-there-rich-folk & decided we would get cable. When the cable people came to hook us up, they found our TV was emitting some sort of electrical current that it certainly wasn’t supposed to & was clear to be true after shocking two cable guys multiple times. Now, I’m not cable genius or TV conisuer or even an electrician so even now, I’m confused as to what happened. All I know is I saw two guys get shocked by my almost brand new 22″ LCDTV. After being told I would not be able to recieve cable until my TV was fixed, I got on the phone with my neighborhood Radio Shack(the very same I had been in only months before) & was told by the woman on the other end, very rudely I might add, that I was lying. First she said that«her records show we purchased a computer monitor.» I said, «no it’s a TV.» «It says here you purchased a computer monitor.» «No it’s a 22″ LCDTV.» «My records indicate you bought a com-pu-ter mon-i-ter.» «Well I’m looking right at it & it says it’s a TV& that’s also what I’ve been using it for.» «could it have been a computer moniter that you just use for a TV?» «Uh. Sure.»(no.) I explained to the very best that I could what the cable guys had told me was wrong with my TV& the Radio Shack employee told me what I was saying was impossiable & it didn’t matter what I hooked up to the TV, the TV could not do what I was describing. Now this is all after I gave her my warrenty information & she told me my warrenity covered repairs so first thing Radio Shack would do is try to repair it before replacing it. So my question to Miss Rude Radio Shack Employee is, what good would come of me lying? If there was nothing wrong with my TV as she so rudely declared, then wouldn’t they just send it back to me? It’s not like I was trying to get a new TV out of it, I just wanted the g.d. thing to play the Disney Channel! Anyway, after a few minutes of uncomfortable banter, the woman gave up on me & gave me a 1 – 800 number. After calling & going through 10 minutes of computer menus & being on hold, I got to talk to a live representive who took my information & passed to my nearest store(yep, that one) with a notice that I would be bringing my TV in for repair. Why that couldn’t of been handled by the first woman, I’ll never know… Needless to say, it has been two TVless weeks since I brought in my TV for repair & when I called to ask on the progress, I was told(without being asked for any information) that«I will be called when my TV is in & they have no information as to it’s progress.» Awesome.
