I love this place so much! They have board games & great atmosphere. The staff are very nice & attentive. Great place to take a selfie. There is a patio out back where you can smoke & hang out. This is my favorite place in all of Portland. I’m not going to suggest just one dish to try, I’ve tried them all, & they’re all amazing. :-)

I was really excited to try this place, but I was extremely disappointed. Overpriced for a very small amount of mediocre food. Service was great though, that is a plus. But because of the food, I will probably never go back.

Delicious food. I had the hash and eggs, my significant other had the dungeness florentine. Both were delicious. The corned beef was especially good. Add in 1 dollar mimosas and good coffee and you got a winner.

I’m not sure when this restaurant showed up on my radar, but I was intrigued by the name. «What? I didn’t know there was a lake in NW Portland! I’ve lived in Portland my whole life! Why haven’t I ever seen this?» Well, friends, SPOILERALERT: there’s no lake. Yeah, I know, but it works; I remembered it when it was my turn to choose the restaurant where Ron and I ate last night. We were greeted by a young man with a very familiar face. It ended up I had worked with him in the course of my job. Once we were seated in the booth of our choice, it was fun to catch up with him. The menu is extensive(for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner service), and I ordered fish and chips and hard cider. Ron had meatloaf and an IPA. We received excellent service, both courteous and friendly. Our dinner salads were different, finely chopped greens with a few cucumbers and topped with shredded fried onions. Like I said different, but both Ron and I would order the soup if we had a do-over. My fish fillets were very tasty as were the waffle fries. I was particularly glad to see that our meals were of normal size and not huge portions. Ron liked his meal, but he prefers tomato sauce glaze on his meatloaf, not brown gravy. I tasted the meatloaf and thought it tender and tasty and definitely had wine and herb flavors. We each got four stalks of asparagus with our meals, but Ron won big because he got my asparagus(I know, I’m weird) because I don’t care for asparagus at all. He was EXTREMELY happy about the asparagus. This restaurant is stylish and attractively decorated and very clean. The music choices are good, but played a little loud. It“s the fault of location, not the restaunt, that parking is tight and difficult. The air conditioning was a little too cold. The staff is great about responding to these by letting people move to different tables. This is an attractive spot to visit. I think you will enjoy the great service and find something delicious to eat on their extensive menu.

Good food, okay service. We had a nice brunch overall, plus who doesn’t love $ 1 mimosas?! The Frenchy Toast was delicious, though the waiter argued with me when I asked for the crème fraîche that it was supposed to come with. I pulled up the menu on my phone and read him the description and he finally brought it over. I’m glad I did because gave the French Toast amazing flavor when combined with the slightly tart blackberry sauce and sweet crème fraîche. My boyfriend got the Timberline Scramble and enjoyed the flavors of the goat cheese and sausage. I would go back for brunch again and cross my fingers for a server without the bad ‘tude.

$ 1 mimosas are awesome. That being said, the horrible service, and ice cold food, is not. There are too many amazing places to have brunch in Portland. I really didn’t appreciate being pushed, not once, but three times, by a server(who ended up being ours) while waiting two hours for a table. What a waste of a Sunday.

This place is great! The weekend brunch is so delicious, the coffee is wonderful, and who can complain about $ 1 mimosas?! It does get very busy, so come early. Recently, I have had the pleasure of having the same server. He wears a hat and is super adorable. He’s amazing. Always great service, always attentive, hilarious, and really adds to the experience. In fact, all of the staff here are just as noteworthy! Never had a bad experience here. Keep it up! You guys rock!

wow. a Sunday brunch that was enjoyable turned completely awful by their terrible bipolar customer service. I was excited to try a new place but our end result happened to be the worst buzz kill in the history of breakfast. I ordered a Bloody Mary inside was charged 6.00 and when I ordered another one outside I was charged 8.50. when I asked the waitress about it, she lost her mind and proceeded to tell me that she gave me the deluxe Bloody Mary, even though I ordered the exact same one as inside. the waitress who had been so friendly the entire meal turned total b word when she brought us the bill. as if it was my fault that she up charged me without asking me if I wanted the delux one in the first place. she stormed off and then some guy who may or may not have been the manager comes out to us and condescendingly asks what the problem is and what«we» did to the waitress. wtf. we were paying customers who were treated like garbage. the food was subpar and the customer service was something to be desired. if I owned that place I would fire those two employees on the spot. I’m so annoyed at the terrible experience that I can’t even finish this review. my only recommendation is don’t.ever.go.there.

Awesome little spot with good food and great service! I came with some friends and a dog for brunch on the patio, it was super busy but our server(I think her name is Sophie?) was amazing and we barely noticed the wait time. Highly recommend checking this spot out :)

My first experience of Portland’s menu… it was great. After an all day trek from Seattle with a short adventure at Mt Saint Helens, Rae’s was the perfect place to grab a later dinner. The service was welcoming and knowledgable. I enjoyed a beef burger per the waitress’s recommendation as her favorite selection. Rae’s offers beef, vegetarian(barley and beans, I believe) or turkey burger options. I chose to top my burger with perfectly melted Gruyère. The burger was beyond exceptional. Instead of cheap iceberg lettuce there was fresh spinach. In place of a slice of raw onion, there was a lightly sautéed slice of onion. The bun was on point because it was light and didn’t engulf my perfectly medium rare beef patty. This burger truly was the best burger I’ve ever enjoyed. Because I was driving in a new city, I stuck with one alcoholic beverage. But, it was hard to resist the epic drink menu filled with plenty of local beer and wine. Something I try to always save room for is dessert. Upon request, I was given a third menu listing house made sweets and after dinner cocktails. Per usual, I enjoyed some chocolate: warm brownie with vanilla ice cream and fresh sliced strawberries. It went great with my Caldera Pilot Rock Porter from Ashland, OR. Two thumbs up! When I move to the Pacific Northwest, this place will become a frequent stop. Thanks Rae’s for a great evening!

OHMYGOD this place is freaking amazing !!! The chicken fried steak is to die for! The gravy is to die for ! There is usually a wait(well tat least ok Sunday’s which is the only time I go). It is well worth the wait! The food comes out pretty quickly which helps make up for the wait time. I love breakfast food but it’s so hard to find great chicken fried steak but once you go here you will not need to look any further!!!

Yep, I would call this place just«A-OK» for brunch. Yes, they have $ 1 mimosas, but I thought they tasted a bit too orange-juicy and less champagne-y. And their food was a big«A-OK». I ordered the corned beef hash and a side of biscuits and gravy. The menu stated that the biscuits and gravy came with 2 biscuits, but in actuality it was 1 biscuit cut in half. The biscuit and gravy tasted pretty good, but I don’t really like feeling deceived, especially when there are so many other brunch spots in Portland. The corned beef hash was also pretty small for $ 13. I thought it could’ve definitely used more corned beef for that price. Perhaps I am spoiled by Gravy’s corned beef hash, but that’s what’s available in town, so I can’t help but compare the two. The service here was pretty good. The servers were nice and the restaurant is pretty nice and clean. I would recommend coming here for $ 1 mimosas(yes, too heavy on the OJ, but what do you expect for $ 1?!) but I would suggest probably eating beforehand.

I really like the ambiance, food, service, prices and location of this spot! The outdoor bright orange/yellow color is so cheery and happens to be the same color as the $ 1 mimosas :) I just have to knock off a star for the«no reservations» and«we won’t seat you until your entire party is here» policies. With more than enough brunch and lunch competition in the area, is this really a good choice? I’ve tried the biscuits and gravy(a steal at $ 4!), the onion rings, several sandwiches and bites of my friends meals — they do not disappoint! I can’t speak for wait times or table turnovers(particularly in the outdoor patio in the summertime), but when I’ve gone during«off times» of the season, Ive never had to wait too long. Can’t wait for another girls brunch day here!

The most unfortunate part of this review is that I’ve previously been here and it was fine. Let’s first start with the table behind us. They had exactly the same number of people as us and came in at least 15 – 20 minutes after us. So, for a place that doesn’t take reservations, why were they sat before us? More so, the kitchen ran out of corned beef for the hash. That would be understandable if we weren’t informed 15 minutes after we ordered. My friend just got up and left… That’s how long we’ve been here without food and beverages took FOREVER to come out: water and coffee. We are also having to repeatedly ask for more water and coffee refills. I’m writing this as we sit and wait for our food. PS the table behind us, that came in after us, that already has their food, is almost done eating. We’ve been here now for exactly 1 hour 22 minutes — no food. UNACCEPTABLE. And in perfect Portland fashion… We’re the inconvenience. If the kitchen is down a person, please inform us when we sit down so we have the option of staying and not wasting two hours on a joke of a meal and horrendous service. There’s seven of us and that’s seven extremely unhappy customers who will not be returning.

Best onion rings in Oregon! We went for happy hour on a rainy day and what a pleasant surprise! They had a really tasty turkey burger… I forgot it was turkey until our server asked how it was. Cocktails were excellent. Lots of space for seating and we had pretty good service! I look forward to going back to try out the patio.

Came here on Sunday, towards the end of the brunch time. We were seated quickly(just 2 of us) and service was pretty good and quick. Food took some time to come out but they were pretty full today. Eggs Benedict was delicious. Orators are seasoned really well. Timber? Scramble so so good and tasty. They have Jenga, Apples to Apples, and other board games to play while you wait/eat. Overall, a great experience for our first time. Well definitely be coming back!

I hate your stupid«we don’t seat incomplete parties» policy. Further adding to the loathsome fact that you don’t take reservations like a civilized dining establishment. And for the record, No, I don’t want to wait in your standing room only bar corral. GFY. The $ 1 mimosas and server Brian are your only saving graces. P. s. Sorry for the things I said when I was hangry. But seriously!

We went for brunch — overall I enjoyed it. I have to say the service, staff, owner were all fantastic. It’s such a pleasure to be greeted by someone so nice and attentive — with just great all around energy. Our waitress was also super nice, attentive and really made our brunch pleasant. When was the last time you said the service will bring you back to a place? The food was good, decent portions, fair price — definitely a must for carnivores. There is a spackling of veggie-friendly items as well. The lunch/dinner menu seems a bit less veg-friendly, but there are options nonetheless. We’ll be back — and next time I will try the mimosas.

From start to finish, we had a wonderful time! First, we were given a table inside, because the deck was full. I asked to be put on a list for a patio table and 5 minutes later, Voila!, a group left and our wish was granted. Next, the food was ridiculously good! My biscuits and gravy were only $ 4. FOUR dollars!!! Most of my friends ordered eggs benedict, which they loved, but one got the quiche and I had to refrain from asking for her leftovers since she wasn’t taking the small amount she had, home. If I’d known her better, I’d asked. Add to that the fact that bottomless mimosa’s are only $ 5 and we were making little piggy’s and champagne gluttons of ourselves. Lastly, our server — Josey Ray(the name on our bill) — was fantastic! He was fast, friendly, got all 8 items correct and we were never made to wait for a refill. I even confused him on our bill and he set it straight in a flash. So good, some of us tipped beyond the 20%. I do not know how I’ve missed this place, but I am thrilled to have a found a new spot with a deck for sunny days. A friend recommend it and said both Josey Ray and the brown haired male server that we first had inside are her favorites… and not just of this restaurant, but of any that she frequents often(often enough to have a favorite). Of course, the more we rave about it, the busier my new fave brunch spot becomes, which is a downside… but only to us.
