It’s cool to find shops like this… great quality and a attention to detail only handmade, limited production businesses can offer. The added plus was an owner who was open answering questions about everything that he makes. If you’re looking for a local business to support check this place out.

I purchased a leather banded wristwatch from Red Monkey about ten years ago, back when they were still in LA, and every time I’ve needed a battery replaced or any sort of repair, they’ve always done it for free. All they ask is that I pony up for the return shipping, which is totally fair. Just recently, I sent my watch to their new Portand location for regular maintenance, and also asked them to replace the studs with flat back studs. The rounded back of the original studs tended to hurt the distal head of my ulna. Anyway, they replaced them at no charge. Boss customer service if you ask me.

This place is never open?! Are they a real business. Every time I walk by the door is always open but the«gated» door is closed/locked. Classic rock rules the day. Wafting out from within these forbidden walls. Best part of my day are the Zep and Sab ear worms secured and rockin in my head on the way home… Maybe its for aging washed up rock stars only. As the wall hangings suggest: Paul Stanley and Slash…

I ordered a watch as a birthday present. When it arrived, it was not the watch I ordered. It took a full week for Red Monkey to arrange to have the watch shipped back to them so they could replace it. The next day I got an email telling me that my new watch was shipping and that I would be receiving a tracking number«shortly»… That was 5 days ago. I called in to customer service and got two people on the phone who didn’t know how to use their system to check on my order status or give me a tracking number. And I can’t cancel my order without getting dinged for it(per their policy) even though it’s been a month and I still don’t have the watch I ordered. When I asked to speak to a manager, the guy on the phone said, I am the manager(sounds like a skit from Chappelle Show). A manager who can’t check the status of my order? Somehow, I don’t think he was a manager, at least not one that could help.
