Rich and moist cupcakes in super fun flavors! My most fave of late is the strawberry basil! Yumyofaceoff! Sometimes they have buy one-get one sales, and those times can be dangerous.

My husband and I ordered my birthday cake here: gluten free, banana peanut butter. Oh my word, this was the BEST cake I have ever had. Seriously. The cake was banana flavored and there was cream cheese, peanut butter filling topped with a cream cheese frosting. As you bite into the cake it gets more complex and the flavors start popping. We had 16 people over and everyone raved about it. My mom wants it for her birthday. I ate 2 huge pieces and gave myself a stomach ache and made my husband take the leftovers to work so I wouldn’t gain 10 pounds based on this cake. It is so good and I will get it each year for my birthday. His office staff devoured the leftovers and I am still longing for the sweet, sweet remnants of this peanut butter banana slice of heaven. You will be so happy you chose Robots!

PB&J rocked my world! Sinfully rich and sweet. I made sure to get a little cake, jam filling, and peanut butter frosting in every bite for the perfect flavor combination. It’s vegan but you wouldn’t know it. Sampled my sisters’ Peach Blueberry and Chocolate Mint. Also yummy, but not my cup of tea. I should make myself jog the four miles here and back to my house if I ever want to eat Robots’ cupcakes again, because they are so decadent! Enjoyed the fun and funny art on the walls. Loyalty card: your tenth cupcake is free. Remember to floss or your teeth will fall out before you can enjoy your free cupcake. $ 2.50 seems a reasonable price point, considering many cupcakeries sell for 3 dollars or more per cake, and each cupcake is obviously made with care, artfulness, and quality ingredients.

I love the cupcakes and other treats, and the space is great, too. My favorites so far are the Maple Bacon Cupcake and the Strawberry Rhubarb Tart. I have been back again and again with my son and we have never been disappointed! They made a cake for a baby shower that a friend threw for me back before they had a storefront and just did custom orders. I was really surprised at how good it was. Surprised because several of my friends have allergies so it was made to accomodate a vegetarian, peanut allergy, and I think either gluten or egg allergy, too. I was expecting a «crunchy» cake, but instead it was DELICIOUS. The owners are super nice, and the space has a coffee stand(great coffee) and a play area for kids, too. If you get the timing right you can drop into Sound Roots music school and catch a Rookie Rock music class for your kiddo. All around, totally worth a visit or several!

I got an email from Unilocal about N. Williams, I commute to work during the less busy times. The red light on Shaver(?) made me slow down and I seen cupcakes. So I pulled over leaned my bike on the window walked in, was immediately disappointed. a review above by Rose M was spot on. I cannot ever see a 5star review. This cannot be a cupcake version of Voodoo. These guys keep their cupcakes in a cooler, I knew if I bought one it wold be cold and hard. Voodoo always has fresh ones right behind the cooler. Cooler = not fresh. I only read 2 reviews before I started writing this, now I read the review by Beth and that one is spot on and I didn’t even read the whole thing. Those 5star reviews are pretty old and I wasn’t gonna say it, but they seem to be made by friends. The reviews each have the business name in it. Now I’m getting annoyed. I would say Robots Love Cupcakes is the perfect name since Robots don’t have taste buds, but that would be unfair because I didn’t actually buy or eat one. I’ll check it out in the future, it can only get better.

I’ve had difficulty figuring out where Robots Love Cupcakes fits into the Portland cupcake scene(if there is such a thing). Their cupcakes are creative and cool featuring themes like Portland Timbers and Angry Birds. In addition to being more interesting, they also taste better than their competitors. They are essentially, as my wife pointed out, the cupcake version of Voodoo Doughnut.

Not the slick cupcake spot you typically find riding the cupcake craze, but man, these cupcakes are AWESOME. Solid menu of non-traditional flavors(coffee and donuts — coffee cake with mini donut on top, maple and bacon, coconut cream filled) and grown-up friendly flavors(Bailey’s, Jameson, Kahlua), And the owner ladies are so nice. Go early if you can. Popular flavors run out quick.

This New Yorker says, MOVEOVERMAGNOLIA, you’ve just been served! Robots Love Cupcakes is by far the sweetest bakery I have been to in years. They offer vegan and gluten free options — which taste so good that many people cannot believe are vegan or gluten free — a sign of good baking. There are weekly specials and they do custom orders. If the Seahawks had made it further in the post-season, I was going to have cookies mailed to me with the Seahawks logo on it. Stupid Seahawks denying me delicious cookies. I can’t wait to come back to Portland so I can camp out at RLC and gain ten pounds. Meh — I can walk it off on the subway stairs when I come home. My advice: get your bums down there before these ladies decide to enter Cupcake Wars, get famous and raise their prices.
