I have not dealt extensively with the Portland Sherwin-Williams Paint stores, but I did not find the staff at this store very knowledgeable at all. For example, when I specifically asked for a 100% acrylic latex primer, and they didn’t have it, I was told that all latex is acrylic latex. Now I don’t know if the sales person didn’t know that what he said wasn’t true, or he was just trying to make a sale, but if I know more about paint than the person working at the store I think that is a problem. And if the person lied to me to try to make a sale that is an even bigger problem.
Anyway, I decided not to buy from this store, but the staff and selection at the Burnside store was no better.

As a painting contractor, I’ve been to the majority of Sherwin Williams stores in the Portland-Metro area and I can easily say that this store is the best. The management team (Kevin and Cat), are both very helpful and knowledgeable and always go above and beyond to help me and my company’s needs.
The store has a good atmosphere, is very clean, and is always well-stocked with supplies. Whenever I’ve needed something special ordered, they always get it in for me by the next business day and call me the moment it comes in. The Sherwin Williams Gresham area sales representative, David, has also been extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The entire staff at this location have always been very personable and skilled at what they do. I highly recommend this Sherwin Williams store to anyone with paint needs.
