I go there for my lip, brow and chin wax. It doesn’t matter who does it, they do such a good job! So affordable all of it for $ 20. I used to go to a wax salon and they would charge me 50 bucks, they do the same job and I feel like Sophicated salon is a lot more gentle on your skin. They go above and beyond waxing to make sure you’re good to go

My mom and I got pedicures the other day. I was very impressed and will definitely be back. Best nail salon I have been to in the area. They were super friendly and chatted with us the entire time. The pedicure included an exfoliation, massage and hot stone massage. They even had neck warmers for us which was a nice relaxing touch. It was an amazing value as well — $ 25 for a pedicure(French tips were included at no extra charge). I will definitely be back and highly recommend this salon. :)

I went there last week — it was great — relaxing –nice massage — with the hot stones on legs– I had a mani/pedi. I will be going back for sure!

I’ve been going here for three years and wouldn’t think of going anywhere else. Lynn Cao does my nails… and unlike other salons I’ve tried, is willing to do them the way I need, which is slightly thicker than usual(because of my very physical job). They are perfect for what I need. Kim, the owner, does my threading and I’m very happy with that, too. The salon is clean and very easy to get to and the prices are reasonable.

Kim and her staff are unlike other nail salons in Beaverton. You don’t feel like you are in a processing factory just there to get you in and out. The salon is small but comforting and they’re always attentive to you even if they’re busy. Been going for over 6 years now and I really have never had a bad experience. They’re always willing to make sure you are satisfied.

My hands are always cold. The woman who did my nails was really sweet and gave me an extra shoulder hot pack for my lap. She even warmed them up again when I went to the nail drying area. I got a regular manicure and it lasted 2 weeks.

Everyone who works here is incredibly accommodating and nice. If you want to chat, they’re a blast. If you just want to relax, they’ll let you do that as well. The prices are very reasonable for what you get, and they do a nice job. The only downside is the limited parking, but neighborhood parking is always available.

Do not get shellac nails by Kim. It was the worst mani I’ve ever had. My nails were barely filed, so they were all different lengths. She clipped my cuticles so poorly I have cuts, and some cuticles she didn’t touch. She rushed through massaging my hands and arms, because her next client showed up 15 mins early. The shellac was applied unevenly and the white tips were not straight. Needless to say, I’ll never go back. To top it off she splattered the shellac polish on my Sevens(jeans) and suggesting putting black nail polish on it to «cover it up!» Worst nail salon ever!!!

I have had a pedi here before and it was ok, but this is my go to place for my brow/lip wax. You can get both done for $ 15, and no matter who handles my wax, I am always in and out in a few minutes. They are always friendly and able to fit me in when I just drop by. Yes, the parking sucks, but you can’t always have it all.

The technician pulled her tools out of a plastic baggy. This is when I should have walked away. She filed the nail on my big toe so hard she broke the skin underneath. Now my toe is so sore I can’t put pressure on it. I’m worried that it might get infected. I won’t return.

Unprofessional and not competent in this area of doing threading.

I went here to get my brows threaded, and I will probably return due to the convenient location and the lack of places that offer threading. However, the threading«artist» Kim, while speedy and efficient, was just a bit rougher with my skin than strictly necessary. She also seemed to not grasp that some women get threading instead of waxing due to sensitive skin, and some of us still get bumps and skin irritation afterwards. She started talking about how Asian women don’t have this problem, etc. Yes, I know I’m a pale white girl with thin skin, thanks. She was also a little bit pushy/awkward in trying to make conversation with me while she worked. She asked me how much I had paid for the same service at other salons(all of which are in closer-in locations) and then pointed out repeatedly how she charges less, which means I can get threading more often… and oh, when I return I can get a mani/pedi too! I know the economy’s tough, but wow. I guess I feel like this is a get-what-you-pay-for type of shop. I just wish the other threading artists in the area weren’t either flakes or booked out a month in advance. :\

This is not a fancy salon, but Kim and her staff provide great, attentive, meticulous service at great prices. $ 35 for a mani/pedi and hot stone leg massage… in a massage chair… with heated lavender shoulder wraps and complimentary tea. What a great little luxury that won’t break the bank! The quality of their work is very good. I know they could easily charge much more for their services, but am thankful they’ve established the niche they have. The only surprise I got was the $ 1 upcharge for using a credit card and $ 2 upcharge for the disposable files they used for my pedi… I would think this would be included in the standard price. In any case, I was still pleased with this place. Thank you Kim for a gem of a salon!

I usually go to one nail place, but one of my best friends threw a girls spa party at Sophisticate Salon. The girls working there are really friendly. Kim worked on my mani-pedi(can’t beat $ 35). Kim(the owner) is really attentive and sweet. As soon as you walk in, she makes sure you feel comfortable. She is very charming and a sweetheart. She takes care of each customer until they are fully satisfied. she goes out of her way to make you feel really happy with the services she provides. I am a fan of their hot stone pedi massage.

Got a full set of acrylic nails for 30.00, the shop was small, and parking is pretty bad and very hard to get a spot. Cleanliness was mediocre. I wont be going back. –Stephanie

I’m new in town and while finding a grocery store and nearby gas station was easy, finding someone who threads eyebrows was not. I am so relieved to have found Kim at Sophisticate Salon. Threading is a form of hair removal that is far superior to waxing. After waxing I’d be red, irritated, and sometimes even scabbed over. Threading is much gentler — just a piece of thread and some skilled hands. No removing of layers of skin, no hot wax. It stings a little but nothing unbearable. I highly recommend it. And if you’re in the Portland area, a drive down the 26 is worth it to visit Kim. I walked in and was placed in a luxurious private room right away with a neck warmer that was just what I needed after coming in from the rain. Kim was communicative and knowledgeable about threading — and very quick. In addition to the threading she shaped and trimmed my brows so the final product was perfect. I paid $ 15 for my brows and upper/lower lip areas to be threaded which is a FANTASTIC price. I was bummed I didn’t have time to indulge in their $ 30 mani/pedi special. I am definitely going back as soon as my brows need Kim again, she did an outstanding job.

These girls are wonderful. Attentive, friendly, and excellent technicians! I feel like royalty whenever I go in there. They usually offer me some tea or coffee while I am getting my pedicure and manicure and a heated neck pad. The shop is always clean, which is a definite plus. In addition to nails, you can also get waxing, facials, and even hair done there. Carrie the hairdresser is wonderful, however she doesn’t work everyday, so you have to schedule accordingly. I will never go anywhere else for nails and hair again.

Attention to detail, good equipment and friendly people keep me coming back to Sophisticates. And I agree, their new location is a huge improvement with more space and better parking. It’s wonderful to spend an hour or so getting pampered by Kim and her crew.

The lovely women(and single guy) here always give good pedicures and stock market advice. Their rates are fair, the massage chairs while getting a pedicure usually put me to sleep, and they are all very funny, cracking wise at each other constantly. I like the new location very much-parking is no longer the nightmare it was when they were on Cornell Rd. Thumbs up for a small local business with class and humor as well as an excellent pedicure.
