Staff here are always friendly, the feel is nice and laid back, and the drinks are always perfect too! Definitely my go to coffee joint.

Cozy spot with good coffee. Baristas have always been friendly. Nice, locally owned spot to meet people or snuggle up with a book or computer.

Generally a decent coffee shop — service level varies with each visit. I am not a fan(nor does it add to the the exterior appeal of the coffee shop) of the Lotto and Coors lighted signs in the window. Not too classy. Comfortable interior, good coffee. What bother me is the 7 or 8am opening«deli» hours… separate from the coffee shop opening time. If you arrive before the deli hours no breakfast item that deli staff would normally prepare can be prepared for you or ordered. For that reason alone I have passed on this shop several time on my way to work(because its too early for them to make breakfast!) or an early Saturday when I am out and about. I have never ran into this same issue at any other local coffee shop I frequent.

If you are going to close early post the new times, tell customers, or preferably, do both. Unfortunately they did not, very unpleasant.

So friendly and laid back here! Would come here every day if I lived closer. Stopped by on a Saturday morning for coffee and a breakfast sandwich on my way into Pdx. Playing classical music which I appreciate on a sleepy morning. They use Longbottom coffee which is not my favorite but I’m happy they support another local company.

Vegan muffin! yay. I love it when cafes have at least one vegan thing. I had this and a cup of tea. It was nice that they didn’t just have soy milk, and I was able to get hemp milk. Pacific no less! Not sure if they always have vegan options though. Good music, cute spot, comfy chairs.

I’ve never been a coffee shop guy… but I’m warming up pretty quickly!!! Spring Creek Coffee in Milwaukie, what a gem! Been in about four times now, and I have been overwhelmingly surprised at the quality, consistency, cleanliness, and the welcoming attitude of the staff. Coffee, various drinks, and food items are reasonably priced and high quality. You get the feeling they pour a lot of heart into this place and it shows. They also have beer and wine options which is really nice, especially for the music and art events they have at least once a week it looks like. They have a great deli on one side, coffee lounge on the right. They offer some really nice quality sandwiches, bagels, baked goods(fresh too!), and what has to be the best value breakfast anywhere in town. I really appreciate when places go the extra mile and offer house made items like hummus and even fresh brewed iced tea which I really appreciated being able to order. I’d never had black currant iced tea and it’s fantastic! Atmosphere is really sweet. Quiet, plenty of tables, comfy chairs, and big windows that brighten it up. Plenty of locals just enjoying reading, working on laptops, and engaging in polite and quiet conversation. Being a pub guy, I wasn’t used to that but this is just what I’ve needed recently Overall I’m a big fan. Only thing that keeps it from being a 5 star for me is seeing that lotto sign which they offer in a small area in one part of the deli, but it’s in no way any distraction from anything else. I know the allure of the lotto is easy money and the ROI is huge for the space you give up for it, just a shame it’s necessary to have it. Being a marketing and business guy I notice the little things and they really make them shine here. It’s hard making a business like this work when the average receipt is under $ 10. You née a lot of customers in a day, and especially loyal and repeat ones. This place has certainly earned my business and I’ll be back.

Surprisingly good bagels here. I had a ham, egg and cheese, and although it wasn’t cooked in the traditional way, it was really good compared to most of the breakfast bagels in Portland. Plus the owner was genuine and helpful. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in Milwaukie

Love it here. Great coffee, great bagels and fantastic cinnamon rolls. There’s a large table in the middle so if you have a small group(9 or so) it would be perfect.

This is walkable from my place. I like that, automatic three stars. Painted lady isn’t open on Sundays? Which is weird. Spring creek doesn’t offer iced coffee which is my go to. But I can make do with an iced americano. They have about twenty syrups(5x more than Starbucks), open WiFi and an okay pastry selection. They play the radio. Batista’s are friendly. Good place. I’d come back.

I have to give a 3 star, not because what I consumed was awful but because I was absolutely blown away by the bad service! My friend and I arrived mid-afternoon and it was not busy. The barista seemed to be bothered by our very presence! After ordering, we stood at the end of the counter waiting for our drinks. My friend then realized she had forgotten to tell him to make her drink iced instead of hot. She asked him, was given a nasty look, and she immediately apologized profusely. He decided he could be bothered to fill a cup with ice and pour her drink over it and in handing the drink to her she thanked him very sincerely. Her thanks and appreciation was met with silence and a cold look. REALLY? I will never be back just for that reason! As an owner I would be mortified to know that my staff had treated(and lost!) a customer over something so simple.

Wow! This is a great coffee shop if you are looking for a nice, quiet, comfy atmosphere. No starbucks stereotypes here! I’m looking forward to just hanging out here on my lazy Sunday dates with my favorite guy! There’s indoor and outdoor seating. I came in on a Sunday at 2:00 pm. No screaming kids running around, no attention deprived teenagers or insecure ken and barbie meat market dwellers! Bring a book, laptop or friend and you’ll be glad you found this place.

I don’t get here very often for they aren’t close to me. I do like their coffee though and they have a good morning nibble too. I believe I had their quiche when I went there. Didn’t like their cream selection a whole lot, but then again I didn’t ask for an alternative. There’s never very many people when I go there, and have always wondered why. When I’m in the area though, I usually just get a coffee there.

Mahalo to Unilocal for helping me find this gem. Now this is the kind of coffee house I like. Weird pictures of pets spattering the walls, artsy hand-made cards, sandwiches made fresh to go with freshly made pesto like it’s no biggie, and a heaping bowl of cream of chicken, all for less than $ 8.00. I wish we had a place like this in Honolulu. To find this place in Milwaukie, OR is something else. Spring Creek and its wall of woofers and pets has emblazoned itself as a go to place if I ever come back to Milwaukie.

As far as coffee shops in Milwaukie go, Spring Creek Coffee House may be the best of the best. It’s an open space with great sandwiches, soups, egg bagels and tasty coffee. During evening hours, beer and wine is also available. Internet is blazin’ fast and free, and there are lots of plugs in and different options for work space. They also have spots for larger groups, and the place is generally pretty quiet, so it’s easy to have a conversation or get some work done. It’s also easily accessibly and not too deep into Milwaukie for you Portlanders that are looking to try SCCH out. Last time I was in, the staff was maybe a little off their game because the main room was like 60 degrees and when I asked if that was normal, they just shrugged. Also, no music was playing and left the place a little too eerily quiet. It’s been several months since I’ve been in before this last little stop-in and my experience this last time doesn’t necessarily fit in with my overall experience. Staff is super friendly though, and they have a once-a-month open mic on the last Sunday night of the month. It’s definitely still on the faves of coffee shops worth poppin’ in to.

Spring Creek Coffee is an all around great spot. I have a 5 year old boy I take in there with me and I don’t get that«ooo get your kid outta here feeling,» in there, like I do at other coffee shops. It is very spacious and there is room for people to spread out and be comfortable. Another thing I like about it, is that it is unpretentious. A lot of the baristas are quite young and not from Portland proper, so they don’t have that hipster attitude that say, a Stumptown barista has. .but. The downside of that is that some of ‘em don’t know how to properly steam milk for a latte, and they will leave the espresso shot sitting out too long before adding milk. Suffice to say, I’ll scope it out, and if someone not that knowledgeable is there, I’ll simply order a regular coffee or an Americano. BUT! That’s totally okay with me. This is the trade off of ALL coffee shops and I’d much rather have this situation than a snobby situation, especially if my family and I are going to hang out there for awhile. P. S. It would be perfect if the owner would maybe hire one snobby coffee expert to teach everybody, so we could have the best of both worlds :)

Lately I’ve been discovering the joys of downtown Milwaukie. From the farmer’s market, to their coffee houses, shops and new restaurants. This area has been going through a bit of a renaissance lately and is a breath of fresh air once you escape the endless car dealerships and mess from the rest of McLoughlin Blvd. Of the two locally owned coffee houses in the area, so far I’ve been more pleased with my experiences at Spring Creek. Part of the reason is that their operating hours better suit my schedule, since Wind Horse closes early on the weekends. But I also like the open look and feel of the coffee house, the food options from the attached deli and selection of chocolates in the display case. The staff is nice and the drinks are well made. Equally pleasant if you grab a drink to go or sit in a comfy chair by the window for awhile.

Great coffee shop! It’s big and inviting, would be a great place to meet with a group as there is plenty of room. Staff is always friendly, service is quick with a smile. They’ve got all manner of coffee, bottled drinks, a cold case with snacks, burritos, pre-made sandwiches, cold salads(homemade tuna, egg, etc.) yogurt, pastries, and what not. They also have a pretty big selection of wine! In the space next door, they’ve opened up a small deli with made-to-order sandwiches, soups, and helloooo kombucha! Great deals for lunch, too, like a grilled cheese and soup for $ 5. Add to list of sleepy yet awesome spots in The Dogwood City of the West to score great snacks and a drink for a great price.
