I have been wanting to learn to knit, and it turns out I was just waiting for the right place and the right people. Melissa and Hillary are so patient and knowledgable. I’ve been able to bring in projects for fixing and advice, and they always have the nicest things to say. Knit nights in the cozy space are a good place to meet experienced knitters, too, and to work on projects while getting inspired for the next thing. The yarn selection makes even a new knitter giddy.

GREAT natural lighting, essential for picking out yarn colors.
Lovely selection of yarn: fibers, weights, prices.
Tools and accessories for knitters and crocheters. Spinners too, I think.
Really nice owner, welcoming and helpful.
Good location for SE, and worth the drive for people who live outside the SE.

Blown away. Full disclosure: I couldn’t knit myself out of a circle of yarn. But I went to the opening of SKS with my wife and couldn’t believe how lovely and inviting the space is, not to mention how beautiful were the vivid products on the (mostly hand-​crafted) wooden shelves. Anyone who’s into knitting really needs to see the place for themselves.

I hadn’t knit anything in a long time, but wanted to take it back up again. The staff were amazingly helpful. I didn’t really know what I was looking for and they helped me decide on a project, find a pattern and then find yarn for it. When I fell in love with a yarn that wouldn’t work, they found a new pattern that would allow me to use it for the pattern! They offered to help me with my project any time, all I need to do is go in. A little out of my way but I will definitely be back!

This shop is absolutely awesome. They have just the right amount of yarn at various price points and are so welcoming. The shop is so warm and inviting. You feel at home and want to sit and knit by their cozy fireplace. They also have free crafting nights on Wed and Thurs. The best part is that they will patiently help you when you get stuck with your projects. It is definitely a yarn shop you need to check out!

I’m a new knitter and Hillary and Melissa made it a warm and welcoming experience. Such a great select and I could hang out there all day long.
