I visited Stumptown Coffee after going to Voodoo Donuts when I was visiting Portland this past weekend. I loved the vibe that this shop gives off. Although it was fairly crowded, my friends and I found seating right away and the shop still seemed open and welcoming. It was a very mellow place even though it was a busy coffee shop. I ordered a small latte & had to wait a bit to receive it, but could tell it was freshly made. I liked my drink, but it didn’t stand out as the amazing coffee that everyone told me it would be. Definitely a place to try if you are visiting and find out for yourself!

My favourite Stumptown location in PDX! Nice, big space with super tall ceilings and lots of seating. Lively atmosphere with a selected album on rotation. Nice staff working super quick. And as always, great brew you can expect.

I wanted to check out the hype about Stumptown Coffee! I loveeeeeee coffee and my expectations for this place was high. Back in the Bay, we have some grocery stores and spots that sell Stumptown cold brews. I’ve tried one of the cold brews before and it’s delicious! So, I had to check out Stumptown. Very spacious in here and pretty hipster, but only a few tables and bar seating. This place totally met my expectations! I ordered a vanilla latte with soy milk(hot) and my friend ordered the coconut cold brew. Mmmmm! There’s just something about Stumptown’s coffee. There is this roasted/toasty taste that was just so… yummy. It was my friend and I’s first time here. The barista was super friendly and helpful. We asked for recommendations and what not. I would highly recommend going to Stumptown if you ever visit Portland, since Portland is known for it’s coffee.

Everyone else’s review will tell you about the coffee. Which ISGREAT. BUT I just want to let any tourists or anyone know something: this is right in the middle of sketch town. This stumptown location is kind of… A bad one. So yeah. I’d recommend the stumptown up on tenth and stark in ace hotel. Stumptown is great. But just so you all know: Old town is the worst part of downtown. It’s not like you’ll get mugged or something. But you’ll see a bunch of sketchy looking guys with shopping carts filled with random stuff and a tired looking pitbulls. Nothing terrible. But just letting you know. Stumptown has a lot of other locations in Portland. I recommend all of them. But this is my least favorite location just because I don’t like hanging out in old town. Especially since I bike and I don’t like locking my bike up in that area.

Awesome spot, I’m visiting from California and I’ve been to the Stumptown in Downtown Los Angeles plenty of times before so I was excited to see this spot just a few minutes away from where I’m staying. It’s a large location with very friendly and attentive staff. Also super gorgeous baristas. Except I can’t tell if this location or the DTLA location is more hipster. I ordered the mocha and it was mad delicious. Very high quality taste and kept me awake. I’d recommend it to your basic friends.

I think I was really hyped for stumptown that my expectations were incredibly high. I did have a good cup of coffee and enjoyed my beverage, but it wasn’t amazing as I imagined. I got the café au lait instead of the drip, because I wasn’t a fan of the type of bean they were brewing that day. The café au lait was smooth and comforting. The place has high ceilings with bar area that looks out the window and limited seating areas inside. There’s music playing and they announce what music is playing on a chalkboard next tot the LP player. The atmosphere was clean and mature. A lot of people coming in and out.

One must stop by and try their coffee when in Portland… of course after you’ve visited Voodoo Donuts which is about 3 – 5 minutes walk from this place ;) «Hipster» is the first word that will most likely come to mind once you enter the establishment. I love their brick walls and the spacious store — plentiful of spots for you to sit down and enjoy your cup of coffee. Interesting artworks on the wall and their menu is hand-written on a chalkboard. Service was pleasant. Baristas are friendly and helpful since the bf and I didn’t know which ones to get — we both got a Mocha Latte. It was delicious — wasn’t too sweet and had that coffee flavor. Cute yet simple latte art was a plus. Definitely coming back here again!

This place lived up to the hype. Probably one of the better coffee’s I have ever had. The staff there was pretty knowledgable too. It didn’t seem like they just hired people off the street, or if they did, they made sure that they understood coffee! The place definitely had a hipster vibe and had a really long line. I mean it’s downtown and it’s a major brand so expect tourists. It was clean though so that’s nice. Despite being busy, wasn’t too loud, I could hear myself think. The coffee was amazing! If you are in Portland, you must stop here, even if it is just 5 minutes.

Only stumptown can get away with charging $ 45 for a bag of beans or $ 6.50 for a cup of their specialty holiday blend beans. Anyways, when in Portland, one must try coffee and the individualistic roaster stores! Stumptown location here screams hipster and offers a wide variety of merchandise/beans while providing ample space for their customers. Stumptown beans range from $ 15-$ 45 depending on the type(single origin, blend etc) For those who just want to enjoy a cup of joe while embracing the vibes around them, go ahead and order some of their more well known drinks! But for those coffee lovers, I would recommend trying their pour overs. Don’t be afraid to talk to the baristas because they love to talk about their coffee! You would be surprised about the coffee culture in Portland and plus, you learn something new.

I had to stop by here because 1) I’m a coffee lover and 2) it’s a portland must I was told. I stopped by here conveniently after Voodoo Donuts.(It’s like a short 3 minute walk away). The two times I stopped by I lucked out without having to wait more than five minutes in line. AMBIENCE: Hipster is the first word that comes to mind haha. I love the brick walls and the spaciousness of the coffee shop. There’s cool artwork on the wall and their menu is neatly handwritten on a chalkboard. I dig the overall vibe. SERVICE: The baristas there were all very friendly, sweet, helpful, and patient as I asked for their suggestions haha. HOURS: They open everyday from 6 or 7am and they close at 7pm. Wish they stayed open later. CHAI: I wasn’t impressed with their chai. It wasn’t sweet enough for my personal liking. CARAMELLATTE: LOVEDLOVEDLOVED this drink. Even when my drink was for to-go with a lid, they still did a cute foam art for me-I appreciate that. Would totally be a go-to drink of mine. It’s not overbearingly sweet and it still has a great coffee flavor. CHOCOLATECROISSANT: It was delicious. Met my chocolate croissant standards haha. Definitely would recommend stopping by to try one of Portland’s well-known coffee shops. FYI, the small size is tiny… go for the regular or large haha!

Quite possibly my favorite Stumptown in… well, Stumptown. The café seems big(length-wise), super simple, but just perfect for you to get your coffee fix. There’s usually artwork on the walls, so you have something to look at while you wait in line. Warning: There’s not a lot of seating so if you’re not there super early(or after dinner) you will have trouble finding a table. So prepare to grab n’ go. I also love the fact that I always get good service here. In a world where snooty baristas are the running stereotype in Portland, the dudes/dudettes here always seem happy, knowledgeable, and most importantly, fast.

Must try when visit Portland! If I ever move to Portland, Stumptown will be my second home. By far, one of the best cup of lattes I have had. It was definitely a very pleasant experience for me to just relax and leisurely enjoy a cup of coffee from my window seat. Overall vibe: Great ambiance with interesting wall arts and friendly staff.

From my stay in Portland, I can see that StumpTown runs the coffee game up there. Even though Starbucks’ presence is prevalent in Portland, a lot of cafes carry StumpTown’s coffee. And for good reason. The shop looks clean. Very spacious with plenty of seating. The coffee taste delicious. I got the cold drip and a latte. Both were good. The cold drip has a distinct citrus flavor. The shop also has a fridge where they sell bottled coffee and chocolate milk. Overall: Will return when in Portland

Incredible flavor in this coffee. Had the Chai Tea Latte as well as a Vanilla Latte and a standard latte, along with a standard drip. Coffee oils are prominent and flavorful. Roasting not overdone and coffee attendants who quietly and confidently prepare cups of goodness without the pretentiousness. One of the best cups of coffee I’ve ever had. From top to bottom of menu. Try their cold-brew in bottles or cartons too!

Short Story: This place blows past Blue Bottle… dare I say that! Long Story: I came here with a group of friends and we got their cold brew coffee… which is kinda like an Americano. It was bold and strong. I like the décor and ambiance of the place… made it look a bit homely with the brick walls and lighting. There was seating outside and inside(both close and away from the windows). The service there was pretty average just order, pay, and get your drink. Verdict: I’ll stop by again… oneday!
