i had the opportunity to be in contact with Tom Koba(CEO of Subway) and he said every franchise which participated in the promos makes money based on company statistics, so the franchise owner is not only greedy but a liar! wow! she will not honor any national specials advertised on television. not fresh goods, small, tables not cleaned. nice counter people. nothing special about this place.

I mean, it’s a Subway. There’s nothing especially outstanding about this particular outpost, but nothing lamentable either. Ingredients are reasonably fresh(preferred not to take my chances with the guac though), space is impeccably clean. The service was great though — my parents can be veeeery indecisive when it comes to ordering food and their ambiguity was on full force tonight, but our server was really friendly and patient!

Few times does a franchise disappoint like this one. I remembered today why I don’t go to this particular Subway. In the past they have been stingy with the meat and toppings. Today I found they aren’t part of JanuAny $ 5 foot longs.

If you want Subway, this is for you. Just don’t expect them to accommodate you in anyway. The manager refuses to take coupons or participate in ANY deal Subway has. I understand that’s her choice, but to refuse every single thing is absurd. It’s a chain, you should go with promotions, it gets you business. I have also witnessed the manager berating her employees, in front of a line of customers, for how they take orders. Something so meager, and that no one else was bothered by. If you want a better sandwich, go to the corner at Market of Choice. Their sandwiches are better anyways.

I will never go to this Subway again despite it being so close. They don’t accept any coupons or specials that are advertised on TV. This location seems to be one of the only ones I found that don’t. When I was there some time ago, they wanted to charge me for extra olives, despite the fact that’s all I wanted. They also have a sign up that you can’t refill your soda cup and take out. What a lousy way to do business and keep customers.

I really try to live my life as drama-free as possible. The past few years I’ve tried to distance myself from people who thrive on drama, because I myself am a very easygoing person. With that being said, there is too much drama associated with this Subway. This location is really close to my house, so I come here often, but I think I’ve yet to have a normal experience here. It’s really bizarre. Today when I walked in, there was nobody to be found anywhere. No customers, no employees, nothing. I called out a timid«uh…hello?» Nothing. I waited in confusion for a good 5 minutes before a an employee came out of the bathroom. No apology or greeting, she just stepped behind the counter and said«what can I get you?» while she put her gloves on. Didn’t even wash her hands. I almost said something. I should have said something. But I was in a hurry(and now 5 minutes behind schedule). And can I just say that I HATE the way they cut the bread now?! This coming from an ex Subway employee… it was my first job ever. I was THE sandwich artist, and I don’t know if anyone remembers the old-school way of slicing the bread, but it was a lot better. Now it feels like I’m eating a taco. Or a hot dog. Anyway… I also had an experience here where a woman who was talking loudly on her cell phone while ordering TOTALLY cut me in line and was a total bitch about it when I tried to be polite and tell her I was in front of her. I ended up telling her off after I got my sandwich, because face it… nobody likes this kind of person. I usually don’t do things like that, but maybe it was my mood, or I dunno, the soul-sucking environment that is the Burlingame Subway. Oh, and getting out of the parking lot and that general intersection as a whole can be kind of a clusterfuck too.
