I think it’s really rude when you go in to cancel and the first question they ask is why… What if I was embarrassed that I couldn’t afford it anymore and didn’t want to answer. I just think it’s unprofessional. I’ve been to other places and when you say you want to cancel, they don’t ask why, they just let you do it. I don’t know why but it really bothered me. And don’t try and sell me stuff when I’m coming in to cancel… Really?!

SunsUp Tanning has many locations in the Portland Metro area and are all accessible to members. If you want to be a member without signing a contract, the lowest price you will pay for start up is $ 49(plus taxes and fees) which ended up being about $ 60. There are other more expensive options that include upgrades and«goodies», but I didn’t feel that was a necessity. After that it costs about $ 22 a month for unlimited standard bed usage. To end your membership you have to cancel 30 days in advance. I am not planning on cancelling any time soon since it is such a great deal. Upgrades for the higher performance beds are pretty pricey. I am not sure what kind of non-member packages they have available because prices are not widely available on their website or in their facilities. Some of the staff is more pushy than others. I felt pressured to start a membership with them, but ultimately I realized that it is one of the best deals in town for unlimited tanning if you pay the basic membership fee. I was once also pressured to purchase tanning lotion from them, but I haven’t been bothered recently about it. Most of the time I can walk in and get a bed right away. The staff is friendly and attentive. I have developed a very nice tan and never once burned with their guidance on how many minutes to start with and how to increase my time in the bed. If you are willing to pay a membership fee and ok with having to put in a 30 day notice before being able to cancel, then I would recommend this tanning salon to you.
