Best salad rolls in Portland, hands down! I also love their pad thai, and the female owner is so nice and sweet.

What a pleasant surprise! Freshly prepared food excellently seasoned. Better than your standard Thai. We eat Thai once or twice every week. I always ignored this little place because from the outside it’s a bit decrepit. But inside it’s lovely. We had Tom Yum, and it was a lot better than most Thai restaurants. Crispy veggies, fresh green beans, limey and just the right amount of spice. Now we have a new regular spot to go to.

The Tom yum noodle soup was extremely bland. The spicy noodle dish was adequate. The menu is too large. Overall it’s suboptimal.

Came for tom yum noodle soup; ended up saying the noodles to make it better at home. The broth was more like chicken stock with sriracha. I would recommend authentic Thai for this soup. Otherwise, the fish cakes yummy!

I’ve lived around this place for a while and I can’t believe that I’ve waited so long to go in. A lot of Thai places in town have disappointed me lately so I was happy to find this gem so close to FoPo. The décor was inviting and the staff was very friendly. Between me and my partner, we tried the salad rolls with tofu(great peanut sauce BTW), the pad woon sen, and the garlic pepper stir fry. The pad woon sen was delightfully light and the garlic pepper was very rich in garlic. Loved it all. Plus they have patio seating and they deliver!

Excellent food. Have been here once and ordered(to go) the tom kah gai, pineapple fried rice, and green curry– my staples. The soup is very nice, aromatic. The pineapple fried rice was super fresh and light. The green curry was as good as I have had– including in Thailand. I would say the chicken ordered within the green curry and soup was a bit tough and dry. The shrimp was great with the pineapple fried rice. The chicken holds this place back from a 5 star. I will definitely return, though.

I’ve been driving by this place for yeard. I had a little time before my next appointment and decided to drop in — I’m glad I did! A wonderful little space with very friendly staff. The«mild» pad phet I had was a little north of mild for my taste, but it was wonderfully cooked and tasted great once I got used to the heat.

Food no longer taste the same as it used to, not sure if they changed owners or have different cooks. Everything is kinda bland and taste like a cheap bouillon cube. The peanut sauce is totally different, the spicy noddlles were flavorless and completely void of all vegetables. It’s a shame, this was one of my favorite thai take out spots.

Nom nom, drool, nom, drool. Nom. I come here twice a week. Favorite restaurant in town. Everybody that works there is sweet as pie. Very cute inside. Huge portions, delicious hot oils for topper, recommend the tom yum soup, pad kee mao noodles and curries(everything on the menu is amazing, these are just the ones my creature-of-habit ways make me cling to).

Really enjoyed the décor, music and the nice, attentive staff. Food was good, but nothing outstanding. It was not as authentic Thai as I would have hoped, had a lot of Chinese/American dishes on the menu. Everything was in English, there were no chopsticks offered and the two«hot» dishes we ordered were pretty mild. My biggest beef were the prices: everything was $ 2-$ 3 more expensive than most other Thai restaurants in this area, while the portions were significantly smaller. Nothing wrong with this place, but there are much better Thai restaurants in Portland and in SE specifically.

Surprisingly pretty good(: the Thai iced tea wasn’t my favorite but the pad Thai with chicken that my boyfriend and I both had was pretty tasty. He cleaned off his plate, but I had leftovers to take with, so I’m happy with the proportions. Would consider going back.

The gold standard — I’ve tried almost all the Thai restaurants between Portland and Salem(not a big geographical scope, but still…) and Thai BBQ is THEBEST. I avoided it for so long because I thought(wrongly) that they only specialized in BBQ. I dunno, I’m dumb. The menu is what you’d expect: pad thai, curries, noodles, etc. The yellow curry, pad thai, salad rolls, crab puffs and spring rolls are my favorites. The sauces are sublime. The prices are right and the portions are large. They do everything right and Simon, the owner, is an incredibly friendly, warm and charming man. Love this place — perfect!

Great stuff. I got the deal and went to pig out myself and it was awesome. I got app sampler, pumpkin curry and sweet n sour chicken. Came with a side salad w delicious ginger dressing. Everything was good or great; real fresh. I guess had to complain I’d be pumpkin chunks not soft as I’d like them. But overall one of the best meals I’ve had lately. Service and restaurant interior were just fine, recommended.

Pretty good, I like to try new places and when I saw a Unilocal deal I had to give it a shot… Not the best place he town for service that’s for sure, very fresh flavors though.

Everything we ordered(salad rolls, tofu panang curry, and grilled steak) was fresh and yummy. Everything was seasoned deliciously. The service was friendly and quick considering that there was only one server working. Also they are well prepared for kids with high chairs, a booster seat, crayons, colored pencils, and plastic dinosaurs for the littles to play with while they wait. The only thing that I think could be improved upon is I would’ve like some pictures in the menu. I really wanted to be more adventurous but I don’t know what most of the Thai dishes are.

Oh my god this is the best place ever. I have been going here for years and its always amazing. At this point they know me by voice or by my to go order, my wife called in and made the order and they knew it was us. I send everyone I know to this place, the tom yum soup is the most amazing thing I have put in my mouth! and I have put some crazy good stuff in my mouth.

I’ve been here a few times now and overall really enjoy it. The location is convenient and while the outside of the building is nothing to Unilocal home about, it’s really a very pleasant atmosphere inside. I give them five stars for their curries and three stars for their noodles. Overall it works out to be a respectable option for Thai food. I know there are lots of options for Thai in Southeast Portland, but Thai BBQ is worth a try. They are my go-to for curry, especially if I’m getting it to go.

I live down the street– so I frequent Thai BBQ often and always order the salad rolls and Pad Kee Mao. The salad rolls are flipping amazing– I’ve never had better. The noodles are full of flavor, and a good almost gluttonous serving size. I am actually posting this review because I cheated on Thai BBQ and am disgusted with myself. Here I am eating Thai Food at some new place by my work like a thai food slut, I didn’t even read the menu. The food is bland, service is okay and prices not fair. I was craving noodles and I was desperate. I might as well dust my old pal Maru Chan off the shelf and enjoy a salty cup O noodles. I can’t blame this establishment, but I just can’t help but compare it to Thai BBQ where service is always five star, and well– there is no better Thai food in Portland. I’m sorry Thai BBQ, I’ll never leave you again.

Women. What can you do? Varied as the day is long — true enough — but most tend to bristle at one of two situations: * Being called a «girl» * Being called«ma’am» The kindly folks at Thai BBQ have solved this sticky wicket. When a lady comes in to eat, alone or with friends, or calls 10 minutes ahead and picks up her Pad Si Ew with Chicken and a Thai Iced Tea to go, she is addressed, with utter kindness, as «madam.» I don’t know how the addition of one little«D» can make such a big Difference in one’s interaction and perceptions, but I assure you — along with Dependable dishes, Decent prices and Delightful service — it Definitely Does.
