Craving a bit of spicy Thai food I conducted a quick search on Unilocal!I pulled up to a cute brick building in Sellwood — pretty ordinary façade but so darling inside. The walls are decorated with old novel posters of comicbooks, 50s glam, cigarette and soda ads. At entry it is welcoming but it seems a bit congested or crowded with the layout. Hard to describe fully. It was colorful and the host was friendly. I reviewed the menu and picked a Red Curry dish — beef, bamboo shoots, bell pepper, and eggplant. I asked for Spicy. She asked«how spicy» I said«Very?» I sat with a bit of water for only a few minutes and they brought my dinner out. $ 13 — She asked again, «you like hot? huh?» I said«Yes.» then as I left I thought, oh shit, I hope it’s not super scalding. It was darn near perfect. I thought the portion was satisfying. It had great flavor and a good amount of spicy. It could have been spicier but I was happy with my choice. Dining in looked inviting, too. I saw a couple folks inside and some wine being served. They have a big menu. Bold colors, Large print.

took my family 4 kids, 2 adults in last night for dinner, we had never been there and read the great reviews. While the food was good, the service was horrible. The lady that seated us didn’t give us silverware or napkins. A different lady came by after 5 mins or so and asked if we wanted anything to drink and dropped off 3 menus. We finally ordered. They brought my youngest 3 kids food almost immediately, then about 10 mins later brought my food and my wifes food. My oldest daughter sat for about 15 minutes with no food. I saw other people that had come in after us being served so I stopped one of the ladies and asked about my daughters meal. She scurried off and a few moments late a different lady showed up with her meal and said it takes a long time to cook chicken(she ordered lemongrass chicken pad thai, apparently it takes 30 – 40 minutes to prepare, be warned). Since no one gave us napkins or silverware we just grabbed them off empty tables. The bill came and I left the exact amount in cash. Will never go to again. They seem to not understand what a restaurant is.

Well there use to be a friendly waiter to greet you take your order and continue the great service until you left. Not sure if this restaurant has changed hands which all signs are pointing that way but our service was to say the least very poor. Will not be going back. When you have to get up and ask to order/get a box/get the bill. Sorry but you just lost me as a customer whoever is the new owner.

Fantastic food! We had the chicken basil and a vegie chow main dish, both were amazing and we will be going back again!

We have come here several times, and they have all been delicious. We have gotten the pad Thai, pad see ew, and combo appetizer. This place is fast and delicious, although the pad Thai could use more tamarind and lime.

There are times like this when I really miss being home, where I got spoiled rotten on great Thai food. I had high hopes for this restaurant based on all the reviews. Meh. We had Tom Ka Chicken, crispy chicken basil, mussaman chicken, lemongrass chicken pad Thai. It was alright. Service was Fabulous, though. Not one complaint about that, the food just wasn’t to my taste.

The pumpkin curry and the drunken noodles were delicious. The décor is eclectic, or confused, depending how generous you’re feeling. The service was a bit slow since there was only one waiter for the entire restaurant, which was bustling. So there are some drawbacks but I would definitely come back as the food made it all worthwhile.

We LOVE Thai Square. Thai is our go-to takeout choice, and after trying a number of Thai restaurants around town, we found our favorite yet – Thai Square. Everything we have tried is delicious, and the takeout is really consistently good.

Thai square is possibly one of the best places to eat that I have ever been the crispy Thai chicken made my eyes roll back in my head, the pad thai is outstanding and some of their curry it’s very good also. Tom yum soup is brought to your table in a pot with flames keeping it warm, a very nice touch, I’ve never been to Thailand but I believe that’s how they do it there.

I just love this place. It’s a great neighborhood Thai restaurant, and I just keep going back for more. The prices are great. I can get dinner, a beer, and leave a tip for under $ 20, and I leave with a full stomach and if I can show a little restraint some leftovers. The food has a lot of flavor, when you order food extra hot it’s actually scipy, and the service is always great. I’ve tried pretty much every Thai restaurant that’s a reasonable drive from Sellwood, and I keep going back to Thai Square because it’s consistently good and reasonably priced. My only complaint is that the food is so tasty I just keep eating even once I’m full. I love some Pad Se Ewe, but their version is just making me eat too much.

Best spot to stop if you’re gluten free and on a long bike ride down the Springwater corridor. I had the mild drunken noodles with chicken and was very pleased. There are tons of fresh veggies — I normally hate mushrooms in my food but these are so fresh and not at all over cooked that I gobbled them all right up! My server was friendly and knowledgable and my meal came out in a reasonable amount of time during the lunch hour. I will definitely stop here again next time I do this ride.

The food here is exceptional. I especially like their peanut sauce and crispy basil chicken. The pad see ew, spring rolls, chicken satay, fried rice, and Panang curry are all favorites of mine. It’s great to go for lunch unless you like leftovers. I’m giving them a 3 star rating based on their inability to account for mistakes they make. My daughter and I recently ordered the pad see ew with a medium spice level. When I mentioned that there was absolutely no spice in our dish to the server, she merely said«I’m sorry.» With that, we continued to eat our very bland noodles with chicken. After the meal was over and we received our check, I noticed the ticket said«no spice» instead of medium spice the way our other dishes did. I mentioned this to the server and she said«I’m sorry.» When I asked them to remove the charge, they did. It was, however, uncomfortable and could have been remedied by her either offering us s new dish done medium or just compensating without request. LeSigh. We will be back, but will be more careful and assertive when ordering and receiving our food.

I love eating here and continue to keep coming back over and over. We usually go with friends and everyone so far is a big fan. My favorite go to dish is the Lemon Gras Chicken Pad Thai. The summer rolls are always a good Starter! Enjoy some good, fresh food! Also, this is super important to me, the place is very clean!!!

This place was amazing! Came here unexpectedly because it was right next door to a café/play area we were at with friends and we happened to be hungry so we decided to come in and get lunch here. Well I’m so glad we found it because it is hands down the best Thai restaurant I’ve been to. I had the red curry with beef and the amount of spicy was just perfect. I love spicy dishes and this had the perfect kick to satisfy my need for spicy hot, yet it wasn’t so strong that it hurt your stomach later. My husband isn’t the biggest fan of Thai food but even he commented on how great the food was. Service was excellent as well. This definitely hit the spot and just thinking about it is making me hungry to return soon! One thing I should mention if you have small children is that they only had 2 high chairs. We had a total of 4 kids in our group but right away the waiter offered us 2 booster seats, which was perfectly accommodating.

This place has an excellent atmosphere from the second you walk through the door until the moment you head back to your car(or bike!) service is outstanding! The place is small and newly remodeled. Great trendy décor, very friendly attentive service staff. Most of all, the prices were fair– but– when you hear the saying«you get what you pay for” — you can forget that coming here! Dinner was $ 12.95 and $ 13.95 for full sized huge portions of pumpkin salmon curry and lemongrass chicken pad thai … Most places with this fresh, hot, outstanding flavurful quality are priced between $ 15 – 17 a plate. We had so many leftovers and barely had room for our cheesecake egg rolls dessert. We will be back and we WILL refer to our friends! OH I almost forgot– they serve free refills of the Thai iced tea!!! How generous is that?!

Easily my favorite Thai food in town, love this place. The food is fantastic and the service is top notch. The decorum is unique and reflects the great personality of the owners. Your kids will also enjoy the art on the wall as well, plenty to talk about and a feast for the eyes to enjoy prior to the one your tummy will. The food has always been cooked fresh and to perfection every time I have been here, I really have no complaints. I have had various noodles, fried rices and soups with a desire to continue my journey through the menu. Having dined here multiple times I am sad to say it has taken me this long to write a review, and one that is this short however I am being served a meal at this fine establishment right now and cannot keep myself from diving in!

I absolutely love this place. We’ve been coming here since it opened and I’ve never ever been disappointed. They have vegan, vegetarian, meat and seafood. They can prepare any curry to your spiciness preference. They also have brown rice! I love their green and red curries. The basil is so fresh! The bamboo and eggplant… I could go on and on. They have beer and wine and some good choices too. They recently changed their décor and music and it’s fantastic. I’m not sure what they’re going for with a mix of ikea and Thailand inspired furniture. They play music videos on the wall and have again a mix of Thailand inspired decorations and comic book artwork. Whatever they’re going for, it’s my type of place. Service is fantastic! Quick and the food is just as quick to come out. The owner is usually there and doesn’t even need to write down your order most of the time. Ok… I’m not there and now I want to be. I know that Portland has an endless supply of Thai spots, but if you’re in Sellwood, stop here. You won’t be disappointed.
