I bought my first pair of dance shoes here about 10 years ago and haven’t gone any where else since! There isn’t any other place in Portland that I’ve found that has this many choices for dance shoes! Plus, when i buy my shoes here, I’m supporting local business and that always feels great. :) They have more than just shoes too! Consignment formal wear and shoes, accessories, tights, insoles, and new practice dance wear/active wear. Definitely a must visit for anyone who dances any style!

I hate to say this because the people at this business were really nice and helpful. But not to the tune of ripping me off $ 24. I bought a pair of shoes at $ 169 and a shoe brush at $ 12. When I got home, I went to look up the shoemaker, since the business had talked on and on about how great the shoemaker is. That was how I found out that the shoes I bought list for $ 149 full price and the brush lists for $ 8. This really damages my attitude to buy locally, too.

Went here for some(men’s) ballroom-style Latin shoes and it went well. They didn’t have the size I wanted in-stock, but the owner dropped the pair off that night and I bought them the next afternoon. The salesperson was patient and very personable as I spent a long time contemplating two shoes a half-size apart. In hindsight, I maybe should have gone for the smaller one, but then my foot might be cramping up right about now. It’s hard to know what shoe will feel better after a few hours of dancing.

I came here to buy myself a nice pair of tango shoes with decent crossover potential, and the service and ambiance was ridiculously good. I probably spent over an hour in there, trying on maybe 20 different pairs of shoes, sorting them into piles, trying on the same few pairs over and over again, and finally walking out with the first pair that caught my eye the second I walked in. The salesperson had to go into the back to bring out a pair of every shoe I wanted to try on, and she did this with a smile on her face, usually coming back with a few other pairs that she thought I might like. Plenty of personal recommendations and solid advice. In fact, she never seemed to get annoyed, not even for a second. There were other customers in the place, and everyone left satisfied. Can’t recommend this place enough. In the end, I felt like I left with a pair of shoes I could trust and love until they fall to pieces. About a month into breaking them in, I haven’t been disappointed yet. And at my first milonga, they certainly stood up visually to all the gorgeous shoes on the dance floor. Fantastic little shop.

I went into the Glass Slipper check out their selection on dance shoes and the salesperson was so very rude. They do not have all of the shoes that they carry on display anywhere so you can see the selection. You have to go through the salesperson to bring them out of the back. Yikes!!! The next day I went to The Leotard Dance Shop on MLK and they were super sweet and helpful. Thy had a small selection on display and brought out more of that style from their wall of shoes. Found a pair of dance shoes that I bought. I would highly recommend going there.
