Outstanding cocktails, atmosphere, staff and food. Visited on a chilly January 2nd evening. The perfect spot to warm and sip.

I visited here this summer and I wish we had a chance to spend more time there. We came later at night and missed the food menu but loved the drinks. This place is truly unique and intimate. The server seemed to a deep knowledge of all of the cocktails and invited any or all questions to be asked.

Me and my boyfriend came here a couple nights ago — We loved it! We had already eaten, so this rating and review doesn’t include any opinions about the food. We heard the restaurant before we saw it… Great Motown music had us dancing in the street! We weren’t even sure it was a restaurant — kind of looked like a funky antique shop. We walked in and were blown away by the cool décor and all the things you could look at. The lighting and pillows cushioning the booths made it a cozy, comfortable place that wasn’t too loud or quiet. We were sat immediately at the bar and had a couple mixed drinks each which averaged $ 12 each. Our bartender and the other staff were friendly and sweet. Everything(including the bathrooms) was very clean and nicely kept. We definitely plan on coming back and trying the food.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for ages. I have walked by it so many times. I;m beyond thrilled that we finally decided to eat here for dinner. The ambiance is lovely, so cozy. The Bulleit Rye Sour was incredibly refreshing. It went down a little too smoothly. The charcuterie choices are great and the small yet satisfying plate was diverse with flavors. My only cons would be to have them ditch the tortillas on the charcuterie plate and replace with a crusty bread or good crackers. The Mexican stuffed flattered was a nice combination of flavors enough to share for two. The Tuna Tataki was delicious, however I would have liked it to come with more dressed greens.(Personal preference considering it was next to the salads on the menu.) The Viognier was a great easy drinking enjoyable wine. All in all this was a yummy experience and we will be back to explore different menus items.

Yay another happy hour to add to the list! The North Point is great no matter what time you come(with deals both before and after 6pm) but the best time to come is clearly on Mondays/Tuesdays at 5:30 so you can grab some light bites for only $ 5/ea during HH, followed by their drink deals at 6pm: On Monday from 6−10pm, they do wine bottles ½ off and on Tuesdays from 6−10pm, they serve $ 5 mojitos! I’ve tried the mango and pear, both are super fun! Of course, you can also order beers(all listed on a handy pint class) or wines(all listed on a handy wine bottle) on each table. Happy hour prices apply until 6! The food specials are alright, I’ve tried the stuffed portobello(almost like mini mozarella pizzas) as well as their chicken skewers. The variety of sauces are fun, but the chicken is a tad on the bland/dry side. Spinach dip is always a winner for me, and for $ 5 it was very filling! Regular food is a bit on the pricier side, but I’m really loving the vibe of the place. It’s cozy and personable, and a great place to catch up with a couple of girlfriends!

Ok, so picture this: it’s midsummer, sweaty, humid, beautiful — and I’m craving a delicious drink to cool me down. We had been walking around the Old Port for a few hours shopping for ridiculous gift ideas, and I was as thirsty as I’d ever been on my life. We ditched down a side road to escape the sun, and I spotted a new place with funky music blasting to the street. There were tables out on the cobbles that just pulled us in. A friendly waitress drops down some little green wasabi peas and took our order. I asked for the best, most refreshing cocktail they had. A minute later I gulped down one of my new favorite drinks — a Mango Peach-atini. Now hold on, I know it sounds a bit fru fru, but believe me when I say it was the absolute most perfect thing in that moment. A year later, with many other cocktails consumed, the North Point has become one of my favorite spots for delicious drinks and delectable eats. Also, best nachos in town(hey, I love my pub grub).

They have a delicious watermelon martini. Probably the best martini I have had, it tastes fresh because it is. The nightly special ginger cocktail was very good also. The staff is friendly and will definitely be back… probably tomorrow!

We went here upon a recommendation from a friend … I’m so glad we made it here. We got there around 6:30 and say at the back of the bar. I tried their d’anjou pear martinis and couldn’t get enough of it – delicious!!! Highly recommend this place. And the city of Portland is absolutely adorable!

This was a wonderful little stop duirng an old port afternnon adventure. The ambiance is very date night, perfect for conversation. There is even a sidewalk patio. We chose to sit at the bar. This was a great choice to get excellent serivce and ask plenty of questions about the menu and cocktails. The bartender was bubbly and enthusiastic. The cocktails were delicious. I got the summer sangria, which had a nice rose wine and hint of sweetness from the fruit. The pulled pork flatbread was delightful, pakced wiht coleslaw, bbq and plenty of gooey melty mozzarella. The prices above average and the other hinderance to more frequent stops.

Great little bar that I came to the night of fourth of July. My friend I met some locals and they mentioned that they would be swinging by the bar after work so we decided to head over early. We ended up just hanging out, ordering a few drinks and getting the cheese/meat combo and heading out early. The drinks were good; not too strong and flavorful and the meat and cheese were a nice combo. The one thing I remember is that the service was awesome. The waitresses were super friendly and were especially accommodating. Would highly recommend a quick visit here.

My North Point experience was a very unfortunate one. For starters, I came for a late lunch and most(all?) of the reviews are about brunch or cocktails. Perhaps I should come back at one of those times. It was a beautiful day, so we sat outside. We had to ask for the regular things that start a meal like water, place settings and napkins(I erroneously assumed the latter two would come with our food…). My cocktail was really good. I got the ginger Germaine which is St. Germaine, bitters, a sugar cube, ginger, and prosecco for $ 11. They give you a little bottle of prosecco to top it off. Highly recommend this drink. Unfortunately my friend’s drink selection wasn’t as good. She got the sangria slushie which is rose wine, puréed fruit, rum, and fresh fruit was unfinishable. I’ve never come across a sangria I didn’t like. Avoid this drink. Flatbreads! They have a good selection. I had the BBQ pork with coleslaw and mozzarella. It got better and better with each bite(I believe the more I bit into it the better the mozzarella ratio became). Unfortunately I found a large, round, rock-like piece of bone in my flatbread that could have really hurt my teeth. The manager was walking by at the time and remedied the situation with a crêpe(which I took to go in hopes of enjoying it for breakfast tomorrow). One final disappointment: the crêpe menu. It’s great that you can pick any two fillings for a sweet crêpe, but it’s saddening that none of the options are fresh fruit. It’s hard to imagine a crêpe without bananas or strawberries. We asked to see if they had bananas in the kitchen but not on the menu and they didn’t. I plan to come back at one of the peak times all the other good reviews wrote about and hopefully I can update this review.

Great find in Portland. Hard to find and you might be turned off by the outside appearance BUT, BEBRAVE. Go forth into this place and you will have a great experience — in service, food and ambience! Absolutely worth the visit. Our server, Shelby, was great from the moment we arrived until we left. She even laughed at my bad jokes(wait — they aren’t bad — they are outstanding!!!) We both ordered stuffed wraps and they were both unique and very tasty. Even the background music was good — oldies and just loud enough to hear cleat but quiet enough to not allow conversation — just right. This place gave us an experience we will remember for some time(maybe even longer than 2 weeks).

Best cocktail bar in Portland. While Portland has a ton of bars and a ton of beer, they seem to lack in the cocktail venue space, luckily this place has Portland covered. The ambiance here is loungy/sophisticated yet casual. The service here was amazing, very helpful staff and great suggestions. They have a solid cocktail menu, with something for everyone. I got there best seller, gin and cucumber which is my go to at any bar that offers it, 4 of these later I was good and ready. We got a meat and cheese board and everything was solid and delicious, great mix for our cocktails. A must stop, if looking for some tapas and cocktails

Perfect watering hole in the Old Port. Far enough back from Fore street so its not completely over-run with tourists. At least the two times I’ve been there anyway… Couldn’t help but notice all the obvious first dates happening around us! It really is a great place for a quiet conversation, maybe some small bites to share, with a slightly-romantic vibe. The lights are turned down low, the benches are cozy with pillows, but not cheezy. Totally chill. Wasabi peas are presented immediately as you sit down at the bar. Great marketing strategy because you can’t help but eat the whole bowl and your mouth will be on fire and in need of a drink! Interesting cocktail menu, beers on tap and wine. Their draft beer list is printed on a pint glass, and the wine list printed on a wine bottle. I like this strategy as you can really ponder over your drink of choice, and the bartender isn’t wasting time reciting. Last night I had a $ 5 raspberry mojhito, without the simple syrup(rum+raspberries was enough sugar). Not sure if this is a Tuesday only happy hour type deal, but it was definitely after 6pm. Its hard for most 9−5ers to make happy hour so its great when you can still get drink specials after 6pm. Our bartender was attentive and I felt like she really CARED. Nothing worse than a fake bartender(which are all too common…). We also split the spinach and artichoke dip which was just okay. Nothing to write home about. No big hunks of either vegetable which were sorely missed. For $ 11 also a hefty price tag. Was not blown away but the food last time I went either, but am still intrigued by other things on the menu. Overall, The North Point is lovely.

I’m somewhat mixed about The North Point. I ate here around 10pm on a Friday night. When we arrived it was packed. The only table open was along a wall and could seat six. After being seated we were told«it should be okay, but if a big party arrives we may need to move you.» Seriously? Not a good start. The atmosphere was so extremely loud that I couldn’t even hear what my friend across the table was saying. There was a party that had some obviously intoxicated members who were producing the bulk of the noise. Many other guests were visibly annoyed by this. To the management, you have an excellent establishment – from a revenue standpoint – one disruptive party that destroys other guests’ experience and makes them leave and give negative reviews – well, it’s reasonable to kick-out the offending party. I understand it was a Friday night and it’s not unusual for a restaurant to be loud; however, the noise level was so over-the-top it was in orbit. The food and drinks were excellent. I had the Havana Cubano Stuffed Flatbread which was the best take on a Cuban Sandwich I have ever eaten. The interior space was cozy and comfortable. The service was mixed; however, to be fair, it may have been the server being overwhelmed by the before-mentioned disruptive party. It really was the food that was absolutely amazing and has me giving three stars versus one. I would definitely give The North Point another try as it seemed like a really nice place to eat and spend money, just an «off» night.

So much about this tucked-away little place in Portland’s Old Port keeps drawing me back, despite its cramped space and seemingly hidden spot. A little of everything awaits you here. This isn’t a burgers & fries kind of joint, but any palate, from the most provincial to the world-traveled will find something here to enjoy and quell any hunger pangs. The food is simple but impressive: grilled and stuffed flatbread sandwiches contain everything from grilled kielbasa and vegetables to the turkey with mashed and dried cranberries. The Cajun pulled pork is also a favorite of mine; even with my Louisiana blood, it hits home. There’s the mound of North Point nachos, loaded with all the fixins which might be expected. What isn’t so expected perhaps is the large menu of cheese & meat plates which could be perfect for a hearty lunch of a light dinner over drinks. The roasted Calabrian figs keep catching my eye though I’ve yet to try them on any of my visits. Nor have I ventured into the sweet crêpe offerings, yet. There’ll be time for that no doubt as this little place feels like a mainstay. The speciality cocktail menu features everything from a white rum raspberry mojito to a smoked caramel vanilla bourbon. The price points are a bit steep, particularly if you’re looking to pair a simple, inexpensive lunch with a drink. They range from $ 10-$ 12 so by far, not the most expensive in the area, but getting there. Lunch for two on a Sunday afternoon was two of the grilled stuffed flatbreads and two sodas at $ 30, plus tip. Again, not the absolute best price in my opinion, but such things are objective. Yes, cramped and reservations and a wait list are not kept here, but still very much worth the try, and likely a revisit.

We came for pre-dinner drinks and we were very impressed by the service here. Great ambience, cozy comfy couches and seats with pillows. The staff are friendly and very personable, making you feel right at home. We ordered pear martinis and the drink comes with a slice of pear on the rim. Just simply delicious.

I’ve been here twice, and both times were great. It’s a small darkly-lit place with a quirky yet classy feel to it — like they went to the garage sale put on by the wealthiest family in your town and bought a bunch of random items repurposed as decorations. At first I was creeped out by all the rooster statues lurking above the bar — but then I grew to love them. And you will, too. Get any one of the pressed sandwiches — you won’t regret it. I’ve tried three, if you count the portion I sampled from my friend during my first visit. All top notch and delicious. Otherwise the menu seems to have a good selection of restaurant/bar food and a cheese plate that I didn’t quite understand. I highly recommend getting the Old Fashioned, if the amicable and chatty bartender who looks like Skeet Ulrich is working. They were among the best I’ve ever had. They have a full menu of signature cocktails that I would be happy to try on subsequent visits. During my first visit, my friend and I were sitting at the bar next to the owner. It’s really interesting when you hear the thought that goes into a restaurant concept. Everything from the décor to the menu choices to the swizzle straw colors. He’s fascinating — and also owns the new steak restaurant Timber. Before you leave, make sure to check out the bathrooms. They have a wide assortment of hilarious old timey serious-looking portraits with funny superlatives assigned. Definitely entertaining when you’re doing your business. The only thing preventing me from becoming a regular is that the food and cocktails are a bit pricy — but that’s only because I’m a cheap bastard. I’ll probably still show up once a month for an Old Fashioned and a pressed sandwich.

Love the music which is at a perfect volume. The seating inside is cozy and the outdoor tables are perfect. Our first visit there the waitress brought some water for a man who was sitting having a drink and had his dog with him. The service is spot on. Your needs are attended to without being intrusive. The old fashioned, I ordered w Maker’s Mark, was one if the best I have ever had. The Gin Ricky was also very easy going down while refreshing. The flatbreads are $ 13 and hearty. They also have cheese and meat plates and other items. After our first visit I thought about it everyday for two weeks until I got to go back. This is a great little spot that is well paced, well staffed and one of our new top choices when we are out.
