Update —
With the weather getting cold, I’ve had a chance to experience the new system installed in the summer. My last furnace was a 100k BTU Carrier-​brand furnace. Vertex recommended replacing it with the same size of furnace, but with a premium-​feature, high efficiency Luxaire-​brand. Being the same size, I expected roughly the same experience. I was wrong. The new furnace makes far less noise, and it makes our home NOTICEABLY warmer. The folks at Vertex did good work and they made a fine recommendation.
