I have really mixed feelings about this store. My kids actually love coming here and ask to anytime we’re at Bridgeport. There are quite a few hands-on toys they enjoy playing with, and when they have a little spending money they can usually find something they like. The store just always has a feeling of «going out of business» to me. The center of the store is usually completely empty and is edged with display racks with only a few items on them. The shelves on the periphery of the store are better stocked and there is a fairly good selection. The layout leaves the store feeling like a a store closing up business, waiting for the last few items to sell. I agree with the other review that the service isn’t great. They do nice gift wrapping but no one usually asks us if they can help us, even when we’re the only customers. I really want this store to survive. I think the owners should visit other local toy stores like Mudpuddle and Piccolo Mondo. Both have mastered both the store layout and the ideal mix of types of toys. I hope Village can find that perfect combo and be around for a long, long time.

I went in with my daughter and they have an excellent selection of toys. It was well stocked and the unboxed toys were easily accessible. However, the customer service was poor. It was nearly empty and there were 3 employees and no one greeted us. We were in the store for about 20 minutes and every time I looked at a box or touched something one of the employees came up after me to fix the display. Is that all she should be doing or perhaps ask if I was interested in anything? I was in fact interested in buying a game but did not because of the service. A family entered as we were about to leave and it was obvious that they were affluent and they received service immediately.
