This place is exceptional. All the flooring is so unique. They also have a sale every Saturday at their dock for rejects. Great people and product

Rating des Ortes: 5 Portland, OR
Local and sustainable. We try in Portland, and get it right more often than most places. Viridian is part of that. They reclaim previously used wood and custom mill it into flooring, paneling, table tops, benches, or to the dimensions and use you need. Their flooring is very tough and made from discarded shipping materials from the Port of Portland. If you like, it has rust stains, or you can get it clear in your choice of colors. They have old growth redwood, Portland walnut and old growth vertical grain fir on 4’x8’ sheets of Forest Stewardship Council certified MDF. It is perfect for paneling or custom kitchen cabinets. They have reclaimed giant fir beams which are impossible to get from today’s trees. Decking for outdoors too. They also sometimes have low cost bundles of the short trim pieces for firewood or crafts at their St Johns warehouse. This is a great place to explore materials if you are remodeling, building or doing commercial interiors and exteriors. Homeowners come here, and Viridian has a large list of high quality and dependable fabricators and installers. It is a popular place for architects and interior designers. And they can ship many of their materials to other cities if you have friends that take a liking to sustainable. What is admirable about Viridian is that they are an upcycler of reused materials. Most recycling today is downcycling. If you want an inspirational and thoughtful discussion of why that is good, check the book Cradle to Cradle. They add products all the time, and keep their website up to date. One of Portland’s best sources for sustainable wood and wood products, a Portland small business that is world class!
