Sadly, this place is no longer in business. Shame. I use to like to come here after my meditation class at the Shambhala Center nearby when I was feeling all blissed out. They had amazing breakfast sandwiches and the owner was very sweet.

Delicious coffee and they’ll make you whatever you want. I am from Denver, so as an out-of-towner it was really helpful that the barista was knowledgable of the neighborhood and could point me in the right direction! Very cozy little spot!

This is a really great place. Whether your looking for a cup of coffee and a scrumptious pastry, or a really well prepared affordable lunch, Vivo is a smart choice. It’s not the most convenient location for me, but every time I’ve stopped in, I’ve found parking very close. The lunch menu is just rad. I have ended up eating a lot of Vietnamese food the last 8 years that I’ve lived in the northwest, and this place is one of the best. The lady’s that work here are very sweet, knowledgeable and helpful. My favorite when I’m in a hurry, the Bhan Mi. If I’m starving maybe the fried rice(rather massive portion, could feed an army of kids). Other notable mentions khao soi and the incredible ice cream. I’m not sure if the ice cream is regular but it’s great and made in house. This isn’t a crappy hipster trendy fusion place, but it’s also not a run of the mill phở house. Give it a try!

dear people who like good food, I work near Vivo and my co-workers and I frequent it on a daily(sometimes more than once a day) basis! First of all, the wonderful ladies that own and operate Vivo are some of the nicest people I know! Second of all, their food is amazing! It is authentic and fresh and consistently delicious! They offer daily specials and their Banh Mi’s are so tasty! All of their food is awesome and comes quick! They also have delicious coffee and pastries. I literally just came back from eating lunch there and decided I had to give them props! Go check them out! You will not regret it!

Came here to grab lunch with a friend, ordered the bbq pork banh mi and coconut juice(yay!). We caught up during the short wait that it took for the food to come out, restaurant was busy with a lot of lunch and to go orders but not completely packed. Meat was hot off the grill, bread was well baked, and they had some tangy mayo that went quite well with the other ingredients in the banh mi, including the pickled vegetables that I love. Shrimp crisps served with the sandwich, not too salty or greasy and a bit of sriracha as well. Overall a great lunch for a decent price, definitely could do worse around this area. Friendly wait staff as well.

Sometimes, you pop into a place to get a coffee to go that’s pretty tasty only to find out later on Unilocal they serve Banh Mi.

breakfast: so perfect! the coffee is great and the pastries are pretty much to die for. i tried a pear muffin the other day, not exactly sure what to expect but my god was it delicious. the same can be said for the carrot cake! lunch: i’ve had a nicely proportioned(bread to meat to veggies) banh mi, super yum, and those shrimp chips are tasty too. i’ve tasted other people’s curries, and other bowl dishes and they were also great. i want to try more of the lunch menu. atmosphere: ***** so lovely. i’m so glad to frequent(if only for coffee and muffins)(and carrot cake) such a wonderful local/neighborhood eatery!

Eating my first Banh Mi from Vivo as I type. It is really good! My co-worker and I happened upon Vivo this afternoon and I am so glad we did. She had a hemp latte and I got the grilled pork banh mi. They do not scrimp on the meat and the flavors are really, really good! If you want some spice on it I suggest you ask for it, I didn’t but will for sure next time. Vivo has made it solidly onto the list of lunch places during the work week!

Took my two little girls there for a late lunch and loved it. The pork bahn mi was perfect! Nice fresh bread, and perfectly grilled pork with mayo and pickled veggies. It came with some puffed rice chips too. My girls are total fried rice snobs, so they shared a dish of it with tofu. It passed their test with a thumbs up! I was happy to see that it was made with brown rice and vegetables cut by a human, unlike most Asian restaurants in town. It tasted so fresh and wholesome! The portions were right on, just enough for lunch, but not enough to leave me in a food coma, just like the prices. I wasn’t sure what kind of coffee to get, but she mixed me up a Vietnamese iced coffee(not on the written menu), and it was amazing! I drink a lot of coffee, and this had such a perfect flavor and sweetness, just what I needed to get me through the rest of the afternoon with my two daughters! I can’t wait to go back and get a soup that I saw everyone else devouring!

Oh My Goodness, so good I have to spell it out! I’m officially hooked on the Khao Soi. So much flavor in that bowl.. . I wouldn’t know where to begin to try that at home. This has become my new favorite lunch spot on the inner eastside. They had me with great coffee for the past couple years, but now this lunch is putting it over the top. Thanks for a great lunch, ThuThi and crew!

Hey central eastsiders workers, Vivo Espresso now as known as VIVO… serves lunch and not only regular lunch, but they serve Vietnamese/Thai/Malay/Indo lunches. I can’t express how happy I am there’s a new delicious place within few blocks of my work. Jesse took me for a lunch date and we went to Vivo. I haven’t been here for a long time since I’ve been bringing coffee from home and I moved away from my old Melcliff’s apartment. Tuddy is as nice as usual and she remembered me! Yay! They added another seating area with high stools and tables next to the existing one. Jesse ordered the Banh Mi with grilled pork and I ordered the Chicken Laksa. I was so excited for the Laksa. I’ve been craving for Laksa like how my grandma made back home. I tried to make it few times, but I couldn’t do it right. Our food came out pretty quickly which was nice. At lunch time, I love places that can serve their food fast(but not fast food). Jesse loved his Banh Mi which came with Shrimp chips(mmmm.I stole most of them from his plate). I love my Laksa. I added lime and chili sauce, it was heaven. Next time, I will add more hot sauce because it wasn’t hot enough for me. I think Jesse loved the Laksa too, he finished my bowl!!! Next time, I will try the Malay Chicken Stew and the Khao Soi. Oh yeah oh yeah I will make many more visits here. New favorite lunch spot!

For what it is, it is great. For what it will be I am excited(potentially lunch and evening cocktails). This is a joint that well done movies make you dream about. Thu Thi is the nicest, and most genuine owner/server you will find. A true asset to the community.

Excellent coffee, I believe due to the owner’s very attentive service. The owner, Thu Thi, consistently makes excellent espresso, macchiato, and mochas everytime I visit. I love the very cozy atmosphere at Vivo too.
