This is the BEST antique shop in the whole Portland area! The prices are reasonable. The staff is courteous and professional. The selection is great. I stopped buying on E Bay when I found this shop.

This is a classic old style antique store. A lot of glass display cases. Some bargains but definitely some nice pieces. A lot of glassware, china, smalls, some furniture, but much more. I have purchased several things here, and I was able to negotiate a price on some items, via the owner on the phone! I can see how some people wanting to sell their collectibles here may be frustrated by the owner not being responsive. It’s jam-packed with goods already. Even as I was shopping, there was someone who just came in wanting to sell something, obviously for some fast cash. I would say if you really want to sell something here, you call in advance and ask if they are interested in the type of pieces you want to sell. Don’t get angry if they don’t want what you have! If they are interested in what you have, make an appointment, don’t just drop in when it’s convenient for you. There are other places to sell, and this place has limited space because it’s already full of stuff.

I’ve only been here once, but it was a just a great experience. I wanted something specific– a type of clock that can be around 120 years old. I did not want a pristine condition or «model» antique. I wanted to pay a price that matched to the general value for these clocks if they are in working order. So I went in with a dollar amount in mind. But I also know that a price can vary depending on your seller and a shop doesn’t have much choice but to lean high. I had been researching and looking for a while. And I do love Portland’s shabby chic second hand stores and«vintage» shops. But many of our wonderful antique malls have very little in the way of the antiques that I want. Or if I find something, it is in «use for parts only» condition, and the pricing is very«seller-optimistic». But in WCA, I found a great clock. Hell, I found several great clocks. And I found a lot of other things that kind of made me wide-eyed and maybe a bit drooley. I had been looking at research and photos of these clocks for a while, so I was very excited to see one of the exact clocks that I wanted at a price that was in line with my dollar figure. I took it home yesterday and started some cleanup. Really, if you like antiques, there are a lot of resources and data available that can show you how to care for them, and what to pay for them. Especially today with google, youtube and collector’s websites like NAWCC. I worried that my price might have been so good because maybe the clock didn’t run. But with just a little tinkering I got it looking much better, ticking, and striking the gong, and running on time. It responded well to some wood oil soap and a gentle cleaning. It needs work– which I was expecting and hoping for. I’m really going to enjoy restoring it. I would give this shop top scores for inventory and for pricing that was within expectations. I did not meet the owner but the woman that helped us was wonderful. I hope to be back.

I called this business today to see if they would be interested in looking at some items that I had from my mothers, he told me flat out that he did not want to look at them and that he was on his way to somewhere, I can not remember where and that the items where probbly over priced and made me feel like I was bothering him, and like I did not know what the heck I was talking about. Basiclly he made me feel like I was not good enough for him. BIGNOONTHISBUSINESS !!! This man is rude, and crude !!!
