Today was my first time at Jitto’s — I ordered a takeout: large steak bomb without the salami and a Greek salad. The steak sub was delicious — chopped steak with mushrooms, onions and peppers perfectly grilled on a nice fresh roll. The Greek salad was huge, well packed with lots of feta, kalamata olives, onion, green peppers and fresh crisp lettuce. You get a side of dressing and a piece of pita bread. The total cost was 20 and change. The place is clean and organized well with a counter for ordering and pickup at the front and dining and cocktails in the back. Customer service was good. Will be back!

Not only was I greeted by some form of mole-​rat species of an employee while walking in, but I happened to find an unfamiliar substance in my SODA. I walk over to the vending machine so I can Feel the Dew, and as my cup fills the machine bursts and spits yellow foam and BLACK SPECS (pepper possibly?) on top of my soda. The waiter couldn’t get his shit right and made us and extra serving of chicken tenders which was aight. Bathroom looks like something straight outta the projects. Shitty ass car always parked out front.

Simply delicious overstuffed subs. My favorite is the Italian sausage, served chopped, mixed with peppers, onions and melty provolone. If you like a little heat they’ll add jals and a red relish. A big, tasty, messy sub for a ridiculously low price and friendly peeps behind the counter, in surroundings that will remind you of your parents’ rec room before they remodeled it. Perfect!

Jittos is close by and a staple lunch spot for me over the years I’ve been working in Portsmouth. I’ve tried many things on the menu, but my favorites by far are the power salad (with chicken!) and the chicken, bacon and ranch wrap — they’re my go-​to. Their steak bombs are decent but not really my thing. Pizzas are alright. I’ve never had anything of the menu I didn’t like.
Easy to get to, private lot for parking. I only ever really do take-​out even though they have an ample sized dining room and bar. Service is always fast and friendly, and I keep coming back!

The food is good for the price, but the steak and cheese is not that great. If anything I would recommend the cheeseburger sub, their hamburgers, taco salads, and their onion rings are awesome too.

Jitto ‘s has a very good steak sub. The steak itself is thicker than most shaved steak. I got the bomb which was very tasty. Excellent bread as well. Nothing fancy here but a very well done sandwich. You can take it to go or sit at one of their self seat tables. There is also a small bar. If I lived in the area I would be a repeat customer.

Going in I didn’t realize steak sub was not similar to Philly cheese steak. Which was what I was in the mood for, so I was thrown off a bit.
The steak was very tender and flavorful and the bread was slightly crispy on the outside yet tender on the inside. Was certainly delicious. I should have ordered a bigger sandwich for lunch.

Had the pizza which pretty good. Fries were the coated type. Just awful.
I wish all restaurants would stop using them! My wife had the steak tips. They were nice and tender but marinated with salad dressing. Salad dressing is for salad not steak!

My go to place for take out. I like to get subs and pizza here when I don’t feel like cooking or when I have friends over to watch the game. They deliver now which is great and they are usually pretty fast. I have ordered from them many many times and have only had one or two mistakes which they took care of immediately. I just called and they drove back with a replacement. I like to get the italian sub and mozzarella sticks usually and my boyfriend really enjoys the veggie sub with all the hots. Pizza is delicious and prices are fair. I have never eaten in the restaurant but I have looked around and it seems like it would be a good place to gather for sporting events or a few drinks with friends. Quick, yummy and good customer service. Just what you need for subs and pizza.

This is a nice little lunch place. One can order out and they have a decent amount of room for a sit down. I’ve only had their pastrami (sub roll). It is some of the tastiest I’ve had, though the thinness of its cut has varied over the many times I’ve had it in the course of 10 years.

Atmosphere wise — Ian’s review is a good source and he does a good job describing the steak subs. I thought it was worth the money. We ordered the 2-​pc chicken meal and the Steak Bomb. I loved the steak sub. Great bread and good steak to go with it. We always pass by Jitto’s and their sign advertises their fresh fried chicken daily– so I really wanted to try that. They have a good batter — it frys up almost like to the texture of an airy char– but it’s not burnt at all… that’s just the best way to describe it. It’s a light crispy skin. But the breast piece I had was a little dry — the thigh was much better but still drier than I had hoped. They fill the remainder of the plate with mashed potatoes and they use a chicken-​based light-​colored gravy. The mashed potatoes were ok. I would definately go back for a steak sub, but I’d really have to be in the mood for the chicken. Very casual place — hard to find anything below $ 6 though.

This place has GREAT steak subs! They claim to be home of the steak bomb. I don’t know if they are, but I had a steak tip sub that was fantastic. The meat was flavorful and tender. The bread was great. I looked at the pizza being served and it looked well above average. The prices were also very good.
It looks like a great place to hang out. It has a bar, a big screen TV and a place for darts.
This place is a must try if you like cheese steaks!

Located at the corner of Lafayette Road & Ocean Road/​Longmeadow Road, Jitto’s Super Steak is a decent place to grab a quick bite and a beer. Jitto’s has a small full service bar area in the front room with TVs, a casual dining room (with ample hard tables & seats/​green & white checkerboard floors), video games, and the order counter area in the back. The menu offers subs, wraps, sandwiches, burgers, pizza, calzones, appetizers, salads, fried seafood, pasta, desserts, and beverages (bottled and Pepsi fountain drinks). The prices for subs/​wraps are in the $ 5-​$ 9 range and dinner plates $ 9 and up.
The food I’ve had here has been decent. The large Steak & Cheese Sub is good with tender & chewy steak tips grilled to order & melted cheese on a soft crusty roll, but for $ 7.55 with tax, it’s really a small sub for the money. The cheese pizza slices are decent with a soft and chewy crust, sometimes a bit dry from sitting in the display case.
