Nice people and the food was just OK but not great. I have had better. I am not sure I will go back simply because I can do better elsewhere. The buns are standard fare and could be improved. The food is pretty bland, chili should have more than just some texture and be bland. My guess is many of the customers are older? I was not picking up on much flavor. The folks that worked the day I was there were nice enough folks I just didn’t love the food and thats really why we go to a place any how right? We want great food not just ok food.

The best dogs with everything there are. A Pottstown legend. Do yourself a favor and order three with some french fries. Your waistline might suffer, but it’s well worth it.

Do yourself a favor and NEVER eat here. From really the worst tasting food, expensive food, and the worst service. The young kids that work here are so RUDE. Too bad 0 starts isn’t an option or I will give it 0 starts.

Most Saturdays start around here with my husband asking for bacon. Well on this day I decided we would walk down to the Very Best for some breakfast with the kids. We walked in and took a seat(it’s seat yourself) and were quickly waited on and asked if we would like something for drink. My husband and I were both served a hot cup of coffee and they served my kids their drinks. We then placed our orders. I ordered a sunny side up egg with homefries and toast. This deal also included the coffee. My husband ordered an over-easy egg platter with homefries, toast, and bacon. The kids who are 2 and 4 spit the same platter I ordered but with scrambled eggs. About 8 minutes later our meal was delivered to us. The eggs were perfect all around. The homefries were nice and unlike the diner up the street, they were not greasy. The kids enjoyed their eggs and ate every bit. The bacon on my husband’s platter was crisp. We all appreciated the quick service with kids in tow along with the quality of the food. It was also a great price when you compare it to other local eating establishments. If you go there for other meals they serve cakes from Company Cakes which is around the corner. Oh and their sticky buns are fantastic!

This place is an institution. My son and I love to come here and have some dogs. They have the secret Coney Island hot dog sauce that is delicious. A bit of a dive, yet a great value and fun to go to.

We love The Very Best for exactly what it is — a local, hometown, greasy spoon. Cheap, fast eats. If you’re looking for something healthy, go someplace else. This place has good basics and doesn’t pretend to be something it isn’t. You’ll see everyone from welfare folks to local business people eating here. The morning crew is the best — we love Cathy at the grill and Debbie the waitress, the afternoon girls are nice too. It’s my parents favorite place to visit when they come to town! A Pottstown Classic!

I stopped in to try a couple of chili dogs for lunch. They were served quickly and they were tasty. Also cheap. The folks were friendly enough. When I get a chance I’ll stop by again to try something else.

Nasty nasty. Going here once was enough! Very best is an old dirty walk-in and leave kinda place. Its dark, outdated(not vintage just OLD) and the food is plain. If you choose to site down an eat, keep your plate away from the dirty walls!

Eh. Nothing special, but the options for breakfast on the Pottstown strip are pretty slim. It will do in a bind, if you need your greasy spoon fix.

The sign alone is beautiful and old. Inside it’s like you’re back in time. Every town should have a place like this. An after school spot like Arnold’s on Happy Days. The prices are good and the food is, too. Stumbled upon it on a saturday afternoon. A counter to sit or booths along the wall and a few tables.

The best for breakfast, but the weiners and chili dogs are OK, too. The new owners have cleaned it up and it seems to be better managed, as well.
