I liked this place well enough, went in every two months or so to get things because I crochet and knit as do my girls. I took up spinning my own yarn about two years ago because of this shop and was making a friend a hat for the holidays and wound up running short of the black wool I needed to spin for it. Several months before hand I went in to order it, and waited for the call that it was in. 3 times she said she forgot to order it for me. I wound up having to go to Port Townsend to get the wool at a shop there because she never did order it for me. I was so sad because I loved this shop and I feel sort of like I’m unimportant if my order can’t get placed. I know she’d probably things going on, and it wasn’t hundreds of dollars but 40 bucks here and there counts too, and my gift for my friend was very important to me to get done and I didn’t get it finished in time because of the delays.

I you are out on the Kitsap Peninsula, you must stop in at Poulsbo and when in Poulsbo, you must visit Amanda. The shop is on Front street and she has a sign on the sidewalk, so can’t be missed. she has all sorts of yarn and if you can’t find it, she can. she knows exactly where everything is without hesitation. It is a pleasant and friendly atmosphere. Shop as long or as short as you like. Amanda is always willing to help with advice on yarn stitches ect. It is your loss if you miss Amanda’s

Everything I want from a local yarn shop: high quality yarns, helpful and knowledgeable staff and a convenient location. I called this morning in search of yarn and was told what yarn they had in stock and since I’m not from the area, helped me find the store and told me where close, designated parking spaces were. Awesome! I didn’t find exactly what I needed but left with yarn anyways. Amanda’s hand dyed yarn is amazing and there are plenty of other brands to choose from. I despise Joann stores and am so happy to have a local yarn shop to spend my money at.

Amanda? can I sum here up in one word? NO… she is fabulous! Almost like a mother to me… She taught me so many things no one else had the courage first memory is crying as I was ripping out my first knitting project .she taught me how to knit ONMYLEVEL… not how she understood things but she lowered herself to my learning level.(With a baby bird swooping through to get the worm aka yarn) I am inpatient and want everything done RIGHTNOW. But she had me learn patience… a true teacher … She had me learn how to do things myself and gave me one of the greatest skills ever .to know that I CANDOANYTHING I put my mind to… She has her own line of yarn now which is beautiful… I love this shop I love the people. and did I mention she is an absolute fiber arts genius? Well she is!
