Dropped in earlier today it was busy. Seen Mickey and she already knew my usual. Danny and I sat down and patiently waited. Seems as if she was being rushed and trampled today. She multitasks efficiently even when it’s busy. Periodically there’s new faces here people must not want to work here lol. But not today she was by her self. I’m glad Mickey was here today we would’ve walked out. Shes a great asset here. Finally a new young face with a matching polite attitude and great smile. Not a fake smile, like ill take your money now have seat like most places. Keep this little lady around shes fabulous. Thank you for today See you guys after the super bowl Food: 3⁄5 When it’s packed food seems rushed Don’t eat here when it’s to packed,(heads up) Or go to The Original Sabe E Lee on Black Mt just my opinion or Come back later. This is my personal favorite Thai restaurant in North County. The lunch special is great and comes with soup, salad, and eggroll. The Spicy Fried Rice is a must and I haven’t seen any other places make it like Bua Thai. Their food packs a full flavor and they don’t skimp out on any veggies. Usually Thai places give you too much noodles or too much rice. Not here!

I have nothing but good things to say about my first experience with Bua Thai. I took a chance and ordered via GrubHub because I didn’t want to make the drive to pick it up. I ordered the Yellow Curry, Spicy Noodles, Pineapple Fried Rice, Chicken Wings and Spring Rolls. My family split the food so we all could sample everything. In addition to the food being absolutely fresh and delicious, they delivered about 15 minutes earlier than the estimated time. It was a pleasant experience all the way around. I’ll definitely be getting my «Thai fix» here more often.

Definetely will be returning. Food and service was excellent. My husband and I ordered red curry with chicken and asked if we could add mango pieces in the dish. The owner/manager said, «sure, no problem.» It was so delicious! If you like mango you should try it… It takes a little of the spiciness away. Yum! We also ordered shrimp pad thai which was also delicious! We for sure recommend Bua Thai…

You must give this place a try! It’s never busy here and the food tastes great! Prices are affordable and the portions are big. I highly suggest the yellow curry with chicken. Watch out because their hot is HOT. I got a 5 of 10 and it was still really spicy. I’m coming back to try their other items. It’s at the corner of Pomerado Rd and Poway Rd, just a few stores north of Winchell’s.

My new coworkers introduced me to this gem a few weeks ago and I am in love! It’s a small, almost hole in the wall, establishment, so keep an eye out for it when you’re driving in the parking lot. The wait staff chat us up and joke around with us. Prices are very reasonable, portions are large, and quality is great. I’ve gone a few times now and everything I’ve gotten has been good(panang curry, red curry, pad see ew). I’m so sad that my work location is moving to Sorrento Valley and I won’t be able to come here for lunch as often :(

We were craving Thai food, but just wanted delivery, so I found Bua Thai on Unilocal. The food was so flavorful that even my picky 3 year old was chowing down. I’m going to have to dine in and check out their ambiance too.

I ordered delivery and it took 30 minutes longer than expected. The food was a little bland. If you know good Thai food, you won’t be impressed.

Ordered a pickup on Unilocal.Walked in a could hardly understand the lady. But wow the food was amazing. Probably one of the best Panang curry I’ve had. It comes with a side of rice so you don’t have to order it separately. Perfect medium strength spice and the rice was cooked softly, which is the way I like it. They also saran wrapped my curry container so it didn’t spill all over the place transporting it to go. Awesome restaurant! May be my new go-to Thai food lunch :)

Hard to find as they are on the far East side of a large shopping area. Very pleasant atmosphere inside. Great Panang Curry, Great Green Papaya Salad, Great Spicy Noodles. Rice has a good texture. Lunch specials make for a nice lunch. Be aware that they use Krab with a K in the Mixed Seafood combinations. I do not mind Krab that much, but the brand they use has a very unpleasant mouth texture like you are eating Polenta — mushy soft and tasteless. Yuck. I will avoid their Krab in the future. The Shrimp and Calamari are good. Heat Level is 1 – 10, and 5 is noticeably hot and 8 is almost can not eat hot. They have Alcohol but it is only a very limited selection of Beer and Wine. No Sake. Service needs work as I had to ask a couple times for more water from server who was quite hard to flag down. Enjoyable. I will be back

Sadness that i’m doing this. Thought i found a new, wonderful thai place. I could put up with the slow service especially because the food made up for it. Just took a new family for dinner and added a togo order at end of meal. After a long wait was excited to bring my wife her fav curry, pad thai and satay. However, i am saddened that a hair was found soaked and swimming all the way to the bottom of the yellow curry. Not to despair, stuff happens in life. I’m pretty forgiving. Drove back to get it replaced and not one apology or attempt to make it right by anyone. I said f_it, give me my money back. An apology would have made this workable. Now Questioning the $ 100, i just spent on the earlier dinner and NOW worried that any future food will be tainted. The non-reaction there makes me think this happens a lot there. Won’t be back.

Let me start by saying that I usually LOVE Bua Thai. I have ordered delivery countless times as well as eating at the restaurant. However, my last experience was less than good. I ordered the usual– spicy noodles, papaya salad, chicken wings, and tom yum soup. The spicy noodles were good as usual. I wish it was spicier.(I ordered spice level 8 and it tasted more like a 4 or 5) 8⁄10 The tom yum soup was a treat for today’s cold weather. Yummy mushrooms and broth with a spicy filling broth. 10⁄10 ALL of the chicken wings that I got were red in the middle. This was disappointing because I usually love their wings. It comes with a nice crunchy exterior. Too bad it wasn’t cooked thoroughly :( The deal breaker for me was the papaya salad. Papaya salad is my most favorite food of all time. I love the balance between fishy, spicy, I love the dried shrimps and peanuts. However, this time, I think the cook mixed up peanuts with brown sugar cubes. There were no peanuts and SOMANY brown sugar cube things. It was so unappetizing to bite into a sugary block when you’re expecting shrimp. :(Also, there were no dried shrimps. Sigh. I guess I’ll just stick to my regular Pattaya Thai At least they have good customer service, the driver was nice.

Very hit/miss. If you’re looking for a decent Thai place, try Thai Time perhaps. The recent change in ownership has meant lower customer service and a real lack of organization around here unfortunately. This place seems like it has definitely gone downhill. Came in recently for a quick pick up. The items I ordered took 20min to come out. Order: Pad see iew Chicken salad w/some sort of chili/lime ingredients but it sounded good Tom Kha coconut soup with seafood What they gave me, which I didn’t realize until I got home: Pad see iew Chicken salad PADTHAI!(what…) No Tom Kha soup No utensils No napkins When I called them: The lady who answered could not understand what happened. She kept repeating to me: Delivery or Pick up? Finally she passed the phone onto a younger woman who had better English. The mix-up was acknowledged but it seemed like I had to bring it to their attn as opposed to something they had become aware of prior. I had to repeat the order to her and explain that I never got the Tom Kha with seafood. They didn’t even know what size I had ordered. I had to spend like almost 10 min talking to them. Furthermore, they could not refund it back to me nor deliver it to me. They said I had to go back to the restaurant and pick up the soup that they forgot to give me. Either that or they can keep the order as «credit» with them, but due to the language barriers, I did not want to risk it. We drove back and got the soup. They seemed apologetic but it was overall very disappointing experience. The staff did not seem very professional. For instance, after I ordered, I asked to pay for it and the woman at the counter looked surprised at my request… isn’t it normal to pay while you are waiting for the order to be prepared? Why would I do it after I got my food and spend extra time doing that? Doesnt make sense. HOWEVER, the Tom Kha soup w/seafood was pretty good, I have to say. I don’t like Pad Thai, which they mistakenly gave me, so I can’t speak to that. Pad see iew was average at best. The salad was DISGUSTING. Super tarte/salty & spicy. I could not even eat more than 3 bites, and I have eaten Thai salads elsewhere before. So gross. OVERALL– So mediocre now after the new ownership. I’d go elsewhere.

Don’t order delivery. It will take forever and you will get hangry and shit will start to unravel fast. All that aside, the food was good and the flavors were on point, in spite of being delivery. Cashew chicken had great flavor(comparable to Chaba thai for me, but a little more watery). Spicy noodles were addicting and luckily did not become one big glob as it often can in transit. Yellow curry was creamy and flavorful. Fresh spring rolls were good and came with 2 sauces(a peanut and sweet chili) which were much enjoyed. Glad to have you around Bua Thai!

Delicious food! It’s a nice little place that served quality thai food. The flavors are balanced and they kick up the heat for those people who love spicy –HOT food. The staff is very friendly . Attentive and kind. I ordered green tea ice-cream to go, so they added an ice bag to it so it wouldn’t melt . Will come back tomorrow.

This place is great. Decently priced for delicious food. I like the music they have playing in the background. The wait staff is very attentive. I ordered coffer with my Vegetable Delight and I got my own little pot, which was cute and nice to have. Husband got Duck with yellow curry and ate every last bite. I ate all my vegetable delight but it’s a much lighter dish(and I didn’t eat the rice). We will be back again!

I completely agree with a previous reviewer who said this place was terrible. I ordered the spicy noodles and the vegetable delight. Both were extremely disappointing. I’ve had a lot of spicy Thai noodles including in Thailand. The spicy noodles here tasted nothing like they should. When I opened the takeout box, I immediately knew something was wrong. The color was almost a reddish color, instead of a deep brown, and it came with fried egg and bean sprouts, neither of which belong on this dish. It was like the cook confused pad Thai with spicy noodles. The flavor was completely off and not in a good way. Likewise, the vegetable delight was not good either. It had no flavor at all. And the steamed white rice, although I ordered brown rice, was downright awful. It was old, stale and very dry. On the upside, it was easy to order online and the food was ready promptly. But I would not return. I’d rather drive to Mira Mesa for some good Thai food.
