The price I got charged did not match their price on their menu. Shady! Food was alright, phở hoa cali in mira mesa is much better!

This noodle house is #3 of 8 Phở Noodle Houses that I have been to in San Diego thus far. Surprising to have a decent place in Poway of all places. We followed the owner from her old place in Rancho Bernardo(which was better), and 8 out of 10 times I come here the Phở is really good. Just wish they’d use less msg(You know that scratchy feeling in your throat a little after you eat? That’s the msg.) Egg rolls are yummy! But the spring roll? Yuck! I don’t really order anything except the p9, and the egg rolls, which I can vouch for. The calamari I’ve ordered a couple of times, was good, but I’ve had better. The service? We come here at least 3 times a month, we know the owner and most of the servers so our service is above average, but like most noodle houses could use improvement. But over all we like this place… considering it’s the best near where we live, and that’s why I give it a 4.

This place marked the third time that I gotten phở in my life. Mr W brought me here on New Years for brunch as we were both hungry and this was conveniently open(1st day of 2016!). Parking went without a hitch — easy parking. We both got the phở house special except I got the small and he got the large. Were seated in a booth which supplied the chopsticks, spoons, and straws at the side. Handy. We did not have to wait very long for the phở to come out — it felt as if it was only like 5 – 10 minutes? There were a couple of people(some families) around though it was not a packed place. Presentation was lovely but I had started to dig in before realizing I should have photographed the moment. Hunger had taken over me. Soup was served at room temperature, not too hot not too cold. Noodles were definitely of thin variety and the meat was nice and tender. I finished everything except for the soup so I would say that the phở was pretty tasty. Always nice to get the fresh mint, Romain lettuce, and bean sprouts. Pretty good, had no problems whatsoever. Was not even paying attention to the service so can’t vouch for that — had been too busy digging in. Would come again — and probably to try the egg rolls next.

Food is good, service is amazing. I would give this place 5 stars but they keep on putting bean sprouts in my spring rolls. UGH. I always ask for and make it clear that I don’t want bean sprouts but whenever I pick it up and take it back, there’s bean sprouts. This may seem like a small reason to be removing a star but it happens every. single .time .and bean sprouts just make me gag. Some people like them but I’m defiantly not one of them and this just ruins my day. No bean sprouts … Is that too much to ask for?

Food is okay. But service is not good. The waiter with painted face make-up just flopped the menu on our table without saying a word of Hi or hello. Then he flopped the water cup and walked away. Have to wait to be called upon to order. There are better phở places.

I just passed by this place and wanted to try them out. I ordered special house phở, the soup taste ok, not very good compare to other phở place i’ve tried. They need to hire more servers cause it take too long for ordering and cashier was terrible. Takes 20mins for someone to come take our order, foods come out in 10mins, I finished my phở in 5 mins, but waiting cashier to give my change back its 20mins and its a long line just to pay for my foods. Cashier was really slow, she takes phone order, packing to go orders, doing water thing and getting change for people in line

I had the veggie and tofu phở and it was great! I had a regular bowl and my husband had a large chicken noodle bowl and it was $ 15(we didn’t order any drinks). Service was great. The one thing I would recommend is that they play music. We walked in and it was quiet. They had a college game on, if they would’ve had the volume up for that would’ve been better. We could hear some music in the distance, could’ve been coming from the kitchen.

First time here with the family. We ordered the chicken phó, beef short ribs plate, pork plate, and the filet mignon plate. Everyone enjoyed and devoured their plate. Very tasty and delicious. Definitely coming back!

I came here a few times over years. Food has been consistently good. The place is clean and well kept. Only the service that I found it is under par. I don’t expect much with Asian dining, but the staffs here definitely got a lot of basic service to be improved. If you come for food, yes. If you come for welcoming service, no.

A bowl of Bun Ga Nuong or grilled chicken over vermicelli with added ground chicken and shrimp egg rolls was in order for breakfast at only $ 7.75 this fine day. The vermicelli noodles were of thin variety, which I prefer and were very good. They were served at the appropriate room temperature and had a very fresh consistency. The crispy egg rolls were great. They had that perfect light golden brown exterior, crispy, and then followed by the tender veggies, ground chicken and shrimp, not to mention their great savory flavor. The chicken was very good. It was well marinated which allowed it to pick up great flavor. It was also very tender and had good color, but I just wish they would of provided more of it. The bowl, as tradition goes, also came with fresh mint, Romain lettuce, bean sprouts, thinly sliced carrots, and of course some finely chopped peanuts which were all very good. The hot chili paste on the table went well with the vermicelli noodles. Service was pretty good and the place appeared quite clean. Oh yes, they do not allow ATM or credit fr purchases below $ 10. Prices are reasonable.

This place was close to home so we decided to try it for the first time. I recognized the owner/server from the Saigon Bistro in RB. The food was good. I good the seared filet mignon which was good. My kids had the fried rice with chick which wasn’t bad. They liked it but didn’t rave about it. The wifey had the phở and no complaints from her. Pretty satisfactory place. I like how close it is. As for service my expectation isn’t that high when we go to a Phở restaurants so it was on par with most, could be a little better. Hey if the server at least smiles once that would be great but I’m okay with them remembering to check if I need more water.

I used to love coming here but the service has gotten worse. Today I waited 30 minutes and still no food. My server was a male with thick drawn on eyebrows. Oh well, time to find a new Phở place…

I love the Mango & Shrimp salad here, it’s fresh, not heavy, but it is filling(don’t let the stereotype of salads steer you wrong). The presentation was beautifully done the second time I ordered it — maybe they got a new chef? I noticed this trip the plating and presentation were very high end. Also, grilled shrimp was so delicious, I am always pleased with the way they cook the meats and seafood here. I also recommend the fried calamari or sweet potato fries with shrimp for appetizers. It satisfies the fried food cravings without the heaviness and grease. Have to shoutout to our server that night, he was the shorter gentleman with dark brows, and he hands down provides the best customer experience without making you feel like he’s a waiter. Will be back!

With my wife out/town, I could not resist a second day in a row of Phở for lunch! I’ve wanted to check out this place just a couple of doors down from Tong Sake, one of our favorite places in nearby Poway. I ordered my usual Phở Tai(small/regular-size), and was amazed as to how filling it was! There was noticeably more meat than in most places, with generous portions of noodles and tasty broth. Not a big fan of backwater Poway, but their food scene is getting better and better. 4 stars for Phở Poway!

Delicious Northern-style Vietnamese food. If your only experience with Viet food has been with cheap fast food style phở and rice plate shops, I highly highly highly recommend coming here and trying some authentic home style Vietnamese cooking. Recommendations: –Sweet potato and shrimp cakes(banh tom) –Shaking beef(bo luc lac) –Hanoi style pork vermicelli(bun cha) –Ginger chicken in clay pot(com tay cam ga) –Spicy beef salad(goi bo) –Fish with turmeric and dill(cha ca thang long) –and pretty much any of the specials on the menu. A heads up on the phở, it is more of a home style phở so the broth is tasty but mild. It’s a change from what you might expect at your typical phở shop, not as heavy on the MSG. The owners used to run the now-closed Saigon Bistro in RB. I don’t know why they changed the name to Phở Poway but my guess is to give it wider appeal since many people only know Viet food as phở. However they have soooo many good menu items besides the phở. The shaking beef is absolutely delicious and better than the best places in Westminster. Bun cha is great too and prepared just right. I take my family here and would proudly recommend this place to anyone who is Vietnamese. The fact that they are right here in Poway is awesome because food like this is hard to come by even in San Jose and Orange County. Vietnamese food is so much more than phở, spring rolls, broken rice dishes, and banh mi sandwiches. Try something new — this place is worth the trip!

Had a very nice lunch here today consisting of phở tai with a fried egg, and egg rolls. The egg rolls came out very hot and were delicious and extremely flakey. I think they could have had a higher meat to veggie/filler ratio but they were good. They only gave us one tiny bowl of sauce to dip them in though(like, 1 – 1.5 tablespoons worth) which is just unreasonable. I’m used to getting a 1⁄3 cup or so bowl of sauce so it seemed a bit stingy. Or their bowls are just tiny and they don’t want to worry about spilling? Anyway, the medium phở was very reasonably priced for a lot of meat and noodles. I liked the ratio of noodles to broth here better than a lot of places. Overall the food was great and the price was reasonable. The server came back a few times to ask questions and it was a little much, but worth it since everything came out as we specified(egg barely cooked or well done? Meat in the phở or not, etc.) Would recommend if you’re in the area(which I am usually not).

Came here Sunday night after we hiked Iron Mountain. We were craving phở and this place was the closest from were we were heading too. I have mixed reviews on this place. We ordered: –½ egg rolls(these were good! Crispy and hot, the filling was tasty) — spring rolls — phở, one with rare steak and tendon, the other with meatball and rare steak — around $ 26.00 So I checked in on Unilocal, and a 20% coupon came up on it. Cool… so I thought. Until I told the server we had the voucher and he said that it was an old ad and is not valid… ok well, then take it off your Unilocal.FALSEADVERTISEMENT. It wasn’t the greatest phở place I’ve had. I twas ok. Food wasn’t bad, I’d go here again if I am in the area.

Based on food alone: five star … although the service is kind of slow because there was only one server for the whole restaurant but it still does not shake me from my five stars! They did have a sign in the window they are looking for serving stuff so I imagine this problem will be quickly solved. The broth is the best phở I’ve ever tasted. It is light with a lemon and green onion flavor. Top quality. My husband had the large shrimp bowl and he was impressed with the amount of shrimp. He even shared with our two boys. The pan seared fillet mignon medallions over rice and lettuce and split it for our two boys. The rice was garlic and pepper flavored and the filet mignon was so tender I could pull it apart with my fingers. It was served with a side of lemon sauce that elevated the flavor perfectly!
