Came in yesterday to get rid of some jewelry from an ex engagement, had a flawless transaction with the nice gal at the counter. This was my first time at a pawn shop so I had no clue what to expect but I walked away happy so that’s all that matters! I was very happy with the price offered to me for the junk I was trying to get rid of. I was also happy about the attractive fella behind the counter in the Hurley hat that helped another customer. Ayoooo! Anyway, 5 stars & thanks Poway Pawn!

This was my first experience at a pawn shop. I spoke with 3 employees and they were all very nice, wiling to answer questions and go above and beyond my expectations. The shop was clean and I can’t say enough about how courteous the staff were. I should also mention I showed up 10 minutes before they were about to close, however, they didn’t rush me and they stayed a couple minutes late to make sure I was satisfied. They gave me a great deal on a DeWalt chopsaw. I had never used this tool before so one of the employees showed me how to use it and told me I could bring it back in 3 days if I wasn’t satisfied. I haven’t tried the tool yet, as I just got home from the pawn shop and was eager to write this review. I’m going to go try it now! I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for a good experience at a pawn shop. They have lots of guitars and sound equipment, very nice jewelry, great tools and lots of other things you would expect at a pawn shop.

I’m a fan because I found my wedding band here. I was specifically looking for an estate piece that would compliment my engagement ring. Found it! The 50% off jewelry sale didn’t hurt either. Pawn shops are sort of like Ross or Marshalls in that you have to visit frequently because their inventory changes daily, and if you find something you like, you have to take the leap and purchase on the spot(or put on a 24 hr hold). Selection is small to moderate, but with inventory being changed daily you simply have to put the time in if you are looking for something specific.

Terrible customer service!!! Went in to sell gold, Chris throws my stuff around and seems bothered by having to help me. Girl next to help him just keeps stuffing her face. Don’t really know why she is there, just a helpful hint(LESSONTHEMAKEUP). The only good thing I can say is the older gentleman was sweet, but that is not enough for me to EVER go back. This is too the owner, change your staff it’s not helping you. No I didn’t sell my gold, just wanted to get out of that place.

It is our hero’s belief that every good pawn shop should have a well stocked selection of rifles, shotguns, and handguns that can double as an insurance policy if they were ever robbed. Poway Pawn is quite disappointing in this aspect, as they had no firearms whatsoever. Fail. Looking for some investments that were safer than Dow index components, our hero was unable to find any guns or gold bullion here. He also almost tripped over a paving machine in the aisle. PROS: — They’re open 10 – 2 on Sundays now. — A wide selection of electric guitars. — Two large racks of used(and fairly recent) DVDs for $ 5, or 5 for $ 20. CONS: — They sell cameras without lenses in them. — The layout of the store is cluttered with construction equipment, which made it a bit hard to walk around. — Lacking inventory in two big staples of a pawn shop: watches and gold. — No firearms.
