Poway Surgery Center

My first experience here. Check in was smooth, I had received a call in advance letting me know what my cost would be after insurance and the cost was exactly the same as what they said on the phone when I got there. Everything ran exactly on time. Warm blankets were provided throughout! Delores expertly inserted my IV, no bruising later, good job! They let my husband come in after I was gowned and iv’d, until it was time for surgery. Dr Johnson, anesthesiologist was great. Additional shout out to Connie, Heather, and Timmery! You all made my experience amazing, thank you so much. I would recommend this center to anyone, it was clean, cozy, but the staff is what made it amazing! Of course I can’t not mention how amazing my orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Bried is. I am truly grateful to you all!

I will say that care from medical staff was 5 stars but rest was 1 star. I had surgery on a rainy day, surgery was delay over an hour by prior case so my surgery started very late in day. In PACU I felt extremely rushed waking up. I was barely awake but since it was 5:45pm, they had my mom pulling the car around. I wasn’t dressed yet, I had gone or even asked to use restroom and for the first time after 11 knee surgeries, I wasn’t required to eat, drink or toilet before leaving. Nobody asked me about use of my crutches.
By biggest issue has been the repayment from the center. I was asked to pay upon surgery. I overpaid by nearly 800 dollars. I called a week after the explanation of benefits was received. I was told to expect a check in a week. 2 weeks have past, new answer, could be another 2 weeks, they blame corporate office. Honestly, if I did not call about my overpayment, would they have refunded my payment??? Still waiting. Don’t recommend this place, would rather have it at main hospital next surgery

State of the art facility with a staff of excellent, caring and very attentive nurses. My sincere thank you to RN Heather & Brooke for all your care during my visit on 1÷9÷14. The experience was so personal and you made me feel at ease and relaxed despite having to go through a surgical procedure.
