I’ve been here twice to get my hair done for a school dance. The first time there I asked for flowy waves and ended up getting teased giant curls that resembled a pageant show. It was terrible and I had to go home and fix it, I thought maybe it was just the girl I had because she seemed inexperienced. I went again two years later and brought in a picture to make sure they knew what I meant. The same thing happened. The salon is very old fashioned in their styling methods and products. Not giving them a third chance.

I’ve gone to Marilyn’s since I moved to Georgia 8 years ago. It used to be a relaxing experience with great service. Over the years, stylists left and Marilyn’s became a shadow of its former self. Yesterday I visited their new location. The salon looked shabby, the interior temperature was cold, and the shampoo water was lukewarm at best. My stylist rubbed my forehead frantically trying to remove dye on my skin at my hairline, but her effort was in vain. Imagine my surprise when I got home and saw my skin dyed brown. What was the«best» part of my experience — the children running around the salon, spinning in chairs, sitting under dryers, and leaving the outside door open to let in cold air. The children were not customers, they were related to employees of the salon. I will not return to Marilyn’s.

Disappointed with my $ 50($ 45 w/tip) haircut. I blame myself a little because I was a walk-in & did not come with a picture. What disappointed me more than the end result was that Marilyn’s in an Aveeda salon… The stylist had all these great Aveeda products on her station but didn’t use a sinlge one on my hair. I find this hard to believe because I have naturally curly hair & was going for a straight style. In traditionally southern type hairdressing all I got was some hairspray… and it wasn’t even Aveeda! All I can say is that I’ve had better… much better! I went home, tried to shower & start over but didn’t have time so I ended up in a scrunchie! I’m going to say my experience at Marilyn’s actually cost me $ 100 because I’m going to give it a week or so to grow out and go somewhere else to have them do something different. In my defense I did ask for something lighter. I felt my hair was all one length & thickness and I wanted a whispier look. My stylist only used 1 set of scissors and now I have a shorter version of what I had. One good thing… the shampoo girl did a good job and even gave a little neck massage. Will I try this place again… not sure
