The Robbins Nest

We called ahead while out ridding our motorcycles to make sure they had the cowboy steaks and they only had 3 left and they saved them for us till we got there. Very nice staff and the cook really knows how to cook a steak. We had 3 cowboy steaks and a NY strip steak and they were fabulous the lady who got the strip steak said it was the best steak she has ever had. We will make the ride back here again.

Our first experience at the Robbins Nest was really exceptional. We ordered drinks and just hung out, the overall atmosphere was really comfortable and our waitress was phenomenal. Our second visit was not as positive. We went for dinner and ordered a burger and a fish fry. The burger was really good but when I received my fish fry it was in a puddle of oil. I really love fish fries and I get one almost every time we go out to eat but when I bit into this fish fry I immediately had grease pouring into my mouth. I am not one to complain so I just set it aside and ate my boyfriends burger with him. When the waitress approached us she asked if there was an issue with the fish because I had only taken a bite. I let her know that it was just far to greasy for me to eat, she asked me if I wanted anything else and I let her know that I was okay because the burger my boyfriend had was big enough for the both of us. She told me she would have the charge taken off from our bill because I had only had two bites, we thanked her. She then came back and told us that the cook who was also the owner said «its fried it is supposed to look like that» and refused to give us any sort of discount. I told her that I have had fish fry many, many times and this is not what it is supposed to look like. We politely paid and left for the night but we will never order food from there again. Though our waitresses for both visits were phenomenal the way the owner handled our situation was not something that we find acceptable in a business.

I stopped here with my family while renting a house on Keuka Lake. I can’t say enough about this place! Everything we had was excellent, right from appetizers through dessert. Our server was both friendly and attentive.
For dinner, it was burgers, a cowboy steak & rib-​eye. All excellent and cooked just how we wanted.
But the two things you can’t pass up come before & after dinner. Other posters have mentioned the Cob Web wings & they are right… not to be missed. These are not buffalo wings, but wings with cracked pepper & some other mystery spices. I’m not into super hot wings, but these were just the right balance of spice, a little heat and a lot of flavor.
And you can’t go wrong with desert. The owner’s mother makes the pies. I think everyone at our table had a different pie and everyone was left full & happy. They also have a great bar selection with all the national brand beers, mixed in with local beers & wine.
It’s a super-​relaxed dining atmosphere and just what we were looking for. We learned that we had just missed their lobster bake! Will hopefully catch that next time we are in the area! Will definitely be back!

This is an awesome place, very friendly, and the food can’t be beat! I’ve been here many times and have never had a bad meal. It isn’t fancy but it’s filled with local charm. I live about 30 miles away and we often make the trip just for the cobweb wings!

What awesome food! I will definitely be back. Next time to drink, too! Oh yeah, there is now Verizon cell service in Prattsburgh!
