Sometimes I wonder why George Washington and his pals fought a war for freedom from unreasonable taxation, only to create a government that unreasonably taxes citizens & not corporations. Anyhow, this is the preserved battle field in NJ. The revolutionaries succeeded in defeating the Brits and although it was a small victory, it is thought to have been the turning point in the war. Thank heavens we won, or we would all be speaking KINGSENGLISH and I am not down with extra u’s in my words. The battle field is large. You can walk up to the Clark house and try to find ghosts. Or you can imagine yourself fighting with horses and primitive weapons. NODRONESINTHE1700s. It’s fun to spend time here if you like learning things. Try to hook up with PRINCETON tour co. They know everything. No bathrooms. That’s the worst part of this experience.

I grew up here in this awesome amazing historic town. I was privileged to get to see re-enactments at the time of our great nation’s Bicentennial. One of my 2 greatest possessions is a small shellacked piece of a branch of The Mercer Oak. So peaceful here. Great for PHOTOSOPS for local couples getting married. Me? I will never forget the day local NJ kids were bussed in to watch the historic re-enactment of important Battle of Princeton. Remember hearing about«Washington Crossing the Delaware?» Guess TOWHERE he and his troupes were crossing. After this victory, here and in Trenton, France figured the colonies weren’t just guerrilla militias, but a real possibility against The British, their sworn enemy. The rest is history. No potties. Park on the street on the gravel shoulders. GREAT for picnics, families, kids. Celebrate our nation’s history. I love this place.
