Kind of has a diner vibe. I liked the décor and personality of the restaurant. Our server was very nice and attentive. My friends and I all had pancakes. My blueberry pancakes were good, but not the best I’ve ever had. My friends both got the banana pancakes but said the bananas were a bit mushy. It’s a solid spot for breakfast, but i think i’d try an omelette next time; they looked really good!

They have an amazing variety of omelettes. The food is always Hot — the flavors are local which is also attractive. We love supporting local. My only complaint are the breakfast potatoes — they never come out crispy — they are usually soggy

Ate here with wife. Small, crowded, not cozy. But great for people watching. Breakfast was good. Cheap. You just go up the counter to order. They then bring the food to you.

Cute little joint. I had breakfast for lunch. Egg beater brie n tomato omlette. oozing with cheese and instead of toast I opted for French toast… they nailed that! The service left me feeling disappointed but the breakfast made up for it.

The Brickway on Wickenden continues its tradition of good food and service, all at an acceptable price. This is my go-to breakfast stop whenever I’m in Providence. And, you can get breakfast anytime of the day. It won’t disappoint.

I’ve only ever been for breakfast and I’ve always been very satisfied. You do have to get there early because it does get busy and quite loud. However, the Belfast omelet is always delicious and I’m thrilled they have gluten free toast. And if you’re having pancakes or waffles they actually have real maple syrup which many places don’t. Highly recommended!

Small but quaint breakfast spot that has unique and fun dishes. Service was also fast and attentive. My boyfriend had the western omelette with cheese and I selected the Eau Claire omelette. Inexpensive, yet they give you quite a bit of food.

I actually have an emotional dependency on Brickway. As a Brown student, Brickway is my go-to boozy brunch location. It’s nestled on Wickenden and is neighbored by coffee shops, ice cream shops, antiques, and a short walk to India Point Park. I’ve been coming here for four years now and still have yet to try all the different omelettes — there’s a very large variety of them, and none of them have disappointed. Most entrees also home with home fries, which have some sort of special seasoning/flavor that makes them so good. The lemon blueberry french toast is single handedly responsible for my freshman-15 weight gain, and I often get a side of the french toast along with a brunch entrée. The Brickway Benedict is pretty decent, and their hollandaise sauce is on point. *Almost* most importantly, Brickway is BYOB, which means you can stop by Campus Fine Wines on the way, pick up a bottle of champagne, order orange juice at Brickway, and then DIY mimosas with brunch. The atmosphere matches the colorful, painted décor — it’s fun, it’s full of life, it’s Brickway.

I do cook so for me, I could make a breakfast similar at home. Having said that, if you want to quickly sit down and eat a decent meal at a good price then this place may work for you. I brought my family, whom have very simple, old school palettes from the midwest(love corn beef hash) and this was a place they could get that or a classic/basic omelette.

It’s a fine spot for brunch, but I think that there are far better options at a similar price point. To me, it’s never really worth the wait given the subpar/rushed service, just decent food, and the fact that my bottomless cup of coffee is often left empty. It can be a bit loud/crowded, which makes it tough for larger groups. But, if you find yourself here, get the Brickway Benedict! Comes with some pretty solid home fries, too. The few times I’ve gotten something else here I’ve regretted it.

Brickway on Wickenden is a great place for a quick bite at a convenient price. Most people make the mistake of trying to go in the front door of this place. WRONG! There’s a side door so be aware. The wait for Brickway is usually under 20 – 30 minutes if you have a party of four or less, any bigger is kind of pushing it, and will usually result in a much longer wait. The best part is though is Brickway is on Wickenden Street, which is filled with great local businesses that you can walk in and browse. The food at Brickway isn’t anything to boast about, but it is good and relatively cheap. I normally get the 2×4, which is two pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 bacon, and 2 sausage for about $ 9. Like I said pretty cheap. The service is always friendly and looking to fill up your coffee or water. The vibe of the place I would describe as on the cusp of being a hipster vibe. What I mean is they write the specials on a chalkboard in the middle of the dining area. They have graffiti all over the walls, and even the overall customer seems to have a hipster vibe. Now I have nothing against a hipster vibe, I just call it as I see it. Anyway Brickway is always a good place to eat if you don’t want to spend too much money and want a quick bite. I give it three yums out of five.

My girlfriend and I left feeling solidly underwhelmed by our entire dining experience at Brickway. They receive two stars because their food wasn’t inedible, although it could’ve been much better. Not sure why people rave about the homefries — they were mushy and had the same too-much-butter taste as the toast. Upon walking up to the hostess stand and being instructed to sit at the table by the window we made our way over, however, not without having to squeeze our bodies between already-seated tables of guests eating their meals. All the reviews you’ll see on here commenting on their service aren’t lying; the service was bad from start to finish. We felt rushed through our whole meal, so much so that neither of us were able to finish our coffee that’s only worth the price if you get a refill(that we were never offered). We overheard the owner telling a woman at the table behind us that she needed to move so they could use the table she was at for a bigger party. My girlfriend and I got our food less than ten minutes after we ordered it – a product of the staff not wanting their guests to wait too long for the food, I’m sure, although it made us feel rushed, as did getting the ticket before we had a chance to finish our food. A good place if you’re in a hurry; a bad place if you actually want to sit down and enjoy your meal. Will look for better breakfast places in the area before we think about returning here.

It was much bigger inside than I was expecting. I love the funky décor and colorful walls. Seating was a little crowded… but I was happy to not have to wait on a Sunday morning!(I think we waited 5 – 10 minutes, but that’s negligible when it comes to brunch.) I had an S-Pet(poached eggs over spinach, tomato, cheese english muffin) and a side of lemon blueberry french toast. THELEMONBLUEBERRYFRENCHTOAST. I would give them five stars for that. All of the food was good, eggs perfectly poached and the french toast magical, but for some reason my afterthought is somewhere between and 3 – 4. I would definitely go back, but I’m not dreaming about my brunch there(which does, sadly, happen). I feel like I’ve seen, I’ve eaten, I’ve conquered. But I would certainly recommend it! I have nothing negative to say. It’s charming, the food is great, and you’ll be in and out faster than it takes to get a Bloody Mary at Nick’s on Broadway…

I really enjoyed my breakfast out front. Bacon ham egg and cheese with some of the best home fries I’ve ever had. Coffee was nothing to write home about but that’s to be expected. Might want to add a dark roast to try and grab the Java people heading to Coffee Exchange.

Great gluten free brunch spot. Almost everything on menu can be made gluten free. Creative French toast w berries or lemon and blueberries. Awesome omelets w avocado, goat cheese and tomato!!! Available w gf toast too. Home fries are gf and awesome too. No reservations but only had to wait 15 mins for table even at peak Sunday brunch time. New favorite gf brunch spot.

Brickway is a winner. The food is really nice and the service is good. The interior décor is really worth the trip. It’s not the best breakfast I have ever had(I live in NY now), but it really hits the spot whenever I am in town.

Most reviews seem to say that the service is better and the food is great. I have to agree with this general statement and just add: — Get their Brickway Benedict! It is what they’re known for. Their sauce is on point too — Kiwi Lemonade was good, but not special enough for me to have spent $ 2.50 on it — Waitresses genuinely do not care about you. Other review aren’t lying… so just prep yourself Keep in mind. I went on a very slow day…

Both of our trips to Providence we have come here for breakfast and were pleased both times. We stopped here on our morning after checking out of the hotel for the trip home, so we needed a place open early(8ish) on a Sunday which is easier said than done. I loved my benedict the first time I was here; I remember it was one of the special benedicts though. This second time I got the Poached Egg treat. It was very tasty, but the cheese was pretty«meh»(think: swiss-American sub cheese). Homefries were good, service was speedy, and I enjoyed the coffee. My companion had an omelette and enjoyed it. The homefries were tasty as well. The menu has a lot of different items to choose from, providing a good variety. Simple but slightly elevated diner cuisine overall.

I’ve come back a few times now and I’ve fallen in love with the brickway vegi sandwich. It’s delicious with avocado, tomato, red onion, and egg on an English muffin. It’s delicious and feel a little healthier eating that over a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. Because I don’t like coffee, I always get a chocolate milk. Unfortunately I always get a different size glass each time. I’m usually disappointed when it’s the small glass. The staff here is super friendly and they always try to get you into a seat as soon as possible.

I wanted to like this place a lot. I really did. It’s a cute little breakfast place with a great location on Wickenden street! Why shouldn’t I like it? Well… the tables are REALLY wobbly. I almost knocked my drink off the table every time I moved. Some of the tables were being held up by bunched up pieces of newspaper — which were turning to mush with all the moisture from people’s boots coming in from the snow. It’s a small place so the tables are very close together. If you don’t mind overhearing the entire conversation of the college kids 6″ away from you — then you’re fine. Remember though, they can also hear everything YOU say. lol. The food was actually pretty good. It was a classic, run-of-the-mill breakfast order place. Our waitress was the only blonde and was probably the most unfriendly of all the servers — of course. All the other waitresses seemed upbeat and happy. Naturally, mine wasn’t very friendly, looked a little on the grungy side(shower today?) and every time she refilled my roommates coffee cup without warning — almost scalded my face with the coffee pot that she flung around the very confined space. Each time this happened she muttered an «oops. ‘scuse me.» I was not forgiving after the third time. The prices were cheap. The portions average. No alcohol though. Maybe it’ll be a better experience next time.
