This library has a beautiful interior and study layout. If you are a fan of comics and graphic novels, the RISD library has a particularly large collection. Also, in this building is the RISD archive, that holds both school and museum archival records and objects. Don’t forget to check out the design materials library as well! Both are located on the second floor of the building.

Such an inviting, functional and interesting space. Great collection, great reading areas, meeting areas, research nooks… One of my favorite spots on the RISD campus, and not just because I’m a bookworm.

The RISD library is an interesting pairing of old and new, and it seems to work. The large spacious room is filled with decadent columns, archways and an ornate ceiling. The modern touches include new mac computers flanking either side of the check out desk and a raised study space in the center of the room with space like cubicles underneath. Depending on whether you’re in the mood for a café, cave, birds eye, or window view, there is a study space in this library for you. While I’m not a RISD student, thus don’t check out any books, this library draws me in to browse, study, or write Unilocal reviews

The Fleet Library is a gorgeous place to sit and read; visitors can sign in with public safety for entrance. The library has a range of study spaces(carrels, small tables, open reading areas) and furniture types, plus views of the city and banking hall interior. Our only complaint: needs more outlets. There are enough but they are grouped together, and sometimes in non-central spots. The clock is a piece worth seeing if you’re walking by!
