Please go elsewhere. My eyebrows were thin and asymmetric. There’s one woman who shapes eyebrows nicely there and unfortunately I can’t recall her name, but everyone else is terrible. Don’t risk it.

I wanted to make a one stop shop trip to the mall. I knew the hours at the Threading Station were good since I went once before and the experience was decent. But this time around, I felt completely ignored. I waited to be acknowledged by the girl at the front desk who seemed more interested in her text messages. My eyebrows were okay… the girl went a little overboard but nothing to lose sleep over. As for the threading girls… they were quite snotty, engaged in their own private exchange of giggles and glances. I prefer a bit more professionalism on their part. They weren’t friendly either and made me feel uncomfortable. This is my second time at The Threading Station and likely my last. The first time wasn’t too bad when the older gentlemen was present at the front desk. But I am guessing when he’s away, things don’t turn out okay.

This is where I come to get my eyebrows threaded. It’s the only place in walking distance to my home that I know of(Federal Hill) and I’ve been coming here now for a couple of years. So what if the girls never smile? They’ve never screwed up my brows, either. $ 12 is a normal price. When I worked on Thayer I would go to the G Spot, which is a pretty good shop, but… that’s a hike from my side of town, and I’m almost never over there. I could rant for hours that Federal Hill is shite for nail and eyebrow salons(unless you want to pay a lot at one of the boutique hair salons) so screw it, I walk to the mall.

It costs $ 12(plus tip) to get your brows threaded here. The women are nice and have done a good job on the two occasions that I have stopped by. This isn’t my regular shop, but I will probably return if I am in the mall and in need of a quick fix.

As someone who has had my eyebrows threaded since it essentially came to the U.S., I’ve tried many threading places/people, but have never had more of a terrible experience than here. I’ve gone here twice and while the first time was bearable, the second time was brutal. When first walking in, I noticed that no one smiles here. At all. They all look judgmental and miserable and one girl looked no older than 17. While I did not judge her based on her age, I was a little concerned that she may not be experienced enough to be doing threading as it requires a certain skill level. Boy was I right. I have never had a threading that actually made my eyes water heavily. It was so painful. True threading professionals have a way of doing it swiftly and quickly and thus, minimizing the pain. This young woman did it so slowly that the thread was lifting my skin in a slow-mo way that was beyond painful! I had to actually stop and kindly tell her that she was hurting me quite a bit and asked her if she could do it a little faster. Even upon leaving, they simply stared at me with blank judgmental faces and I didn’t even get so much as a thank you for spending $ 25 on their services. I recently returned hoping to get someone other than the young girl(as I don’t know many threading places since I moved here) but the moment I saw her again, I walked away. I was happy to see that the nail salon right next door offered threading by a threading professional who has done it for years. Not only did she get my eyebrows perfect but it was essentially pain free! Needless to say, I won’t be returning to The Threading Station ever again.
