I came in to look for some furniture. One of the workers approached me and told me about some good deals they were having and asked me to let him know if I had questions. DI people usually never do this, so I was instantly impressed. I ended up finding a chair for 10 dollars and approached the man again, telling him I found an item and if I could have it claimed. He gladly rang me up and asked me if I wanted to take it now. I informed him I didn’t have a truck so I’d probably have to come back later. He then told me he could deliver it to my home, only if I felt comfortable enough for him to do so. I am a pretty dang good reader of human intentions and character so I got his number and told him I’d call him after he got off work. Sure enough, him and another guy from DI delivered the chair, they kept it short and sweet and didn’t suggest to come in my home which I thought was respectful. I’m so grateful for this worker and thought that he went above and beyond. His name was Max. Update: he ended up texting me an hour later asking if I would like to go out on a date(I’m engaged) so maybe there was an ulterior motive after all

A very solid thrift store. Well organized and cheaper than savers. I found a great American Eagle shirt in good condition. A lot more high-quality and fashionable clothes than your typical used clothing store.

I’m not a frequent shopper, but sometimes it’s fun to look around. The prices have seemed to rise, but they do have employees to pay and a building to maintain so naturally it’s going to be more pricey than a yard sale. The toy aisle is a nightmare, so if you’re looking for vintage toys be prepared to dumpster-dive. Does it have to be so cluttery? I would love to go through the place to organize a bunch of stuff. It’s okay to throw stuff away! Get some buckets and categorize! See? This is why I’m not a frequent thrift-shopper. Can’t handle it.

In the last two trips to this Deseret Industries location, I’ve obtained the following: a picture of a unicorn on finished wood, entitled«Night Watch,» Audobon’s «Birds of America,» a three foot tall cement knight lamp, Shannon Hale’s «Book of a Thousand Days,» a souvenir mug from Lake Tahoe circa 1985, an enormous finished wooden clock with a picture of Pegasus, and a life-sized ceramic bunny. This is, hands down, my favorite Deseret Industries at the moment. Great glass case section, great book section. Amazing furniture and electronics sections. This store’s just got it going on.

The first thing I noticed upon entering this Deseret Industries is that it’s HUGE! This is seriously the largest DI I’ve ever seen. Inside you’ll find all manner of clothing for man, woman, and child; tons of toys and electronics; home goods and furniture; and all manner of other items. Prices were cheap. Staff was friendly. Not much more you could ask for from a thrift shop.
