Just got back from Tommy’s, the wings are awesome and the burgers are great too! Very clean and great atmosphere.

They have closed and they have gutted the building in Provo. The original Restaurant is located in Heber in the Old Town Village next to the Heber Creeper. find them there. if you are in Provo looking for a Q Fix. There is a BBQ restaurant just a few doors to the north of Tommy’s called Big Al’s, and another on the top of Provo/Orem hill called Bam Bam’s BBQ. Bam Bam(Cameron) has been in the competition circuit for some time and has some good meats. Give them a try!

Was not impressed, but it is hard to impress me when it comes to BBQ. Everything simed to be just average. I’m still trying to find a good BBQ place in Utah County. I’ll keep looking.

Always great food. Don’t care for the new way they seat you at night, but it’s worth it. During the day you can seat your self, and its fast. At night you have to be seated and pay tips. Still way worth it, but at night it will cost you more and take longer.

I ate at the Heber location first, with a couple of my friends from Texas. We were hoping for the best but we are tough critics since we know what real bbq is. However, we were more than impressed. After visiting the provo location, we have become fans for life. I got the«award-winning» pulled pork sandwich and I am not sure I will ever be able to get anything else besides that from now on. I am happy to call it «Texas bbq». The brisket is also very good. I’m sure everything is good there but I highly recommend that pulled pork sandwich. Trust me. The bbq sauce there is also really delicious.

Tommy’s secret recipe for BBQ is magic. We love this place. The wet brisket is amazing as is their kielbasa. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Thus place is awesome! Ambiance: A Bear in mind this place is predominantly a counter service restaurant. As far as those go, it is very clean, good space, very comfortable and attractive. In the evenings they are trying a waitered table service which, from my one experience thus far, was done well. I was there on a week night with few other people so I think I got the full attention of all of their staff but I am sure the weekends would be a better test of this setup. To date, this is the only restaurant I am aware of that does window service part of the day and table service the other part and I am intrigued to see how it works out. Service: A+ I have been here a few times now and the people here are some of the most friendly and helpful I have experienced. They really believe in their product and everyone is very excited about their favorite menu items. This is refreshing compared to other restaurants where, when asking for a recommendation, you are met with a blank stare and vague references to what ‘most people eat.‘ I have met both of the owners on different visits and they are always happy to tell you what to try or what they love. This experience with the staff is one of the best parts of their business. Food: A I am not a BBQ connoisseur by any means but I know what I like and what hits the spot. This place is fantastic! I have had the chopped beef(which I understand is a combination of their wet brisket and dry brisket chopped up) their BBQ pork and their kielbasa. As far as sides go, I have had the spicy BBQ beans, cole slaw, onion rings, fries, fried okra and their corn bread. I love it all but here is some data on some of my favs: Kielbasa Sausage — I am a fan of sausages and this one is way up there. It has a fantastic smokey taste without being overpowered by the spices. It is tender and is one of my favorites that I get EVERY time I go… if you like sausage, you will like this. Chopped Beef — I am still trying to figure out which I like more, the chopped beef or the wet brisket. This has a great taste though I prefer it as a sandwich as opposed to just on a plate. Spicy BBQ Beans — This baby brings me back again and again. It’s not overly spicy as to scare off everyone but it does have a bite. The sweet and smokey sauce is one of the best BBQ bean sauces I have ever had. This is ALWAYS my #1 side. Onion Rings — I am normally not a fries kinda guy but their are good… however, I won’t be ordering fries often due to their delicious onion rings. These things are buttermilky goodness and that goodness is only amplified when I dip them in the jalapeño ranch. This is my other side about 90% of the time. I have yet to have had anything I didn’t like but those are the ones that have fast become my standard. Overall: A Overall Tommy’s is a great place for quick and tasty BBQ. The staff is well versed on the options and very helpful and friendly. Tommy takes great pride in what he does and it is no wonder he has won awards for his BBQ. I love the simplicity of the window service and the clean and comfortable ambiance. If I worked closer, I could see my lunches all happening here without too much thought for the alternatives. Try it out, it’s a fantastic place!

I was in town visiting some family and we always drive over to Provo to do some shopping. I was in the mood for BBQ, which I cant always get where I live(New York is a BBQ wasteland) so we popped in. The food was great, the brisket was recommended and it was very juicy and full of flavor. The sides were good too, but the dessert was awesome. They have this fried banana and ice cream concoction that was so good. The staff was super nice and the owners even came out and said hello. Great place and it was good to be supporting a local business.

There used to be a Curves gym next to Tommies, but they had to move away from the incessant scent of smoked meat. There is a menu. It is vast. It’s longer than three men. Some men are longer than others. There are old stand-bys: plate-o-meat, meat on a bun, meat with slaw, meat with beans. There are evocative, sultry inventions: BBQ spaghetti, BBQ pizza, buffalo wings, brisket chili. [Insert cold shudder here] There was indecision, so I asked for the best meat. I was told they’re all good, but the brisket would make me feel all happy/silly/horny. I may be paraphrasing. «Brisket me,» I commanded, «And a plate of wings for me and my friends! No, one plate. We’ll share.» Money changed hands. There was a short wait. A goddess of a girl sauntered to our table and held out a plastic basket of food. Her arm trembled for a moment before she dropped it. It smashed into the table like an Oxford Unabridged. And it was good. The sauces were a little sweet, but the brisket was dry, not greasy. The medium wings were medium spicy, but tasty. The portions were ample. The goddess smiled and dissipated into the smokey vapors.

Decent BBQ, beer, and wine. That’s a combo worthy of kicking it up from the 3 stars the BBQ by itself deserves. They get points for serving the BBQ sandwich dry. The brisket was too dry, even though I ordered it wet. However, the bun added a lot and some sauce covered up some flaws in the BBQ. I had the slaw with it. It’s good slaw, not the best around, but better than average. Since I was alone, I didn’t get to taste enough for a full review. I’ll come back another time with help to try more.

Great tasting, tons of variety on the menu, and they serve beer and wine! I really like the set up in which you order at the register and they bring you out the food. They do have BBQ sauce as well which is by the condiments, fountain drinks, etc. I’m not sure why the workers there running around trying to get your food to you quickly would be a bad thing. I personally think it’s pretty awesome they care to get our food out quickly and have a good attitude about their customers. The owner came out and talked to us and I could just tell he believes in his food and is very enthusiastic about his new Provo location. His son also works with him, cooking, running the business. What a nice thing to see! A family owned restaurant with great food and fantastic customer service! This just doesn’t happen very often in Provo. I will be going back and supporting this new place. The pulled pork and the turkey is juicy and delicious! Choose the cornbread as well!

Food was good, I would even say better than average. The service on the other hand… Way over the top. I really don’t want see large sweaty cashiers and servers dashing about. It was not that busy… Slow down, try not to run me over and sure as hell don’t over sell the menu. Let the food do some talking, really, it will be ok.

Just for take out from Tommy’s and my first impression. DRY!!! I ordered the Brisket sandwich alond with the Sweet Potatoe Fries and was totally disappointed. The brisket is dry and the fries are under cooked. Plus, there is no BBQ sauce to dip the dry food. My brother in law told me that Tommy’s was not good but I had to give it a shot for myself but I should have llistened to him instead of wasting my hard earned money.

Good food, but it seemed a little cookie cutter. By that I mean that nothing stood out or made me want to rush back. I might go again, but I’m not going to crave anything from Tommys.
