Broken Bit is simply the best restaurant in the Antelope Valley. If I have one suggestion, fInd a way to make the quail into an entrée. The appetizer is amazing. We come here for all our special nights. Tonight, we celebrated our anniversary. Ruthie, our server, made it a great experience. Try it, it’s worth every penny.

My husband and I love it here. It’s pricey so we don’t go often but the food is amazing. The smoked quail is our favorite!

Had a wonderful dinner with my husband for our 27th anniversary. Was so pleased to find a restaurant we hadn’t tried before in the Antelope Valley. Food was great. Atmosphere was pleasant and loved the background music.

Made reservations for a group. Earliest they had was 9pm, we were okay with that. Came in and got menus before we got seated we were all pretty much decided. We got seated and ordered drinks and we were ready to order but were informed they were out of burgers and baked potatoes. We had to re think what we wanted because some of our party had chosen baked potatoes or the burgers. Our waitress handled that situation very well and we all ended up ordering something different. We all enjoyed our meals. I got the chipotle Cajun pasta it was pretty tasty and spicy. My parents got steak and they raved about how great it tasted. My boyfriend got the pork shank and he said it was very good. Salmon salad, cowboy pizza and a flatbread shrimp something I forgot the name were also part of our orders. Price wise its expensive.

Best steak I have ever had and go the delicious snores for dessert. The steak basically melts in your mouth and the marshmallow is homemade to perfection. You get what you pay for, well worth it!

This is always my first stop when visiting the AV. It’s also the place I take friends and family when they stay in the area. The service is always friendly, the food is tasty, and the drinks are on-point. The vibe is great too; a good place for dates and groups alike. What really keeps me coming back is the appetizer list. Try the Quail or the Ahi Tuna Stack – it’s the best tuna tartare out there. If you do go with the tuna, make sure to order the onion straws as well – the crunch and horseradish sauce compliment the tuna perfectly.

Went here to celebrate hubby’s birthday. Ruthie, you are awesome! We were pampered like no other. The house salad and rock lobster apps were amazing! The salmon was pretty good and the pork shank was amazing! Both came with chunky mashed potatoes(yum). The veggie side was a bit small but nonetheless delicious! I loved the apple crisp but wish we had not gotten the occasion cake(mediocre for 8 bucks). All in all… very nice experience. Thanks Mike(owner) for chatting with us a bit. Thanks Ruthie and the rest of the staff for taking care of us. Keep up the awesome work!!!

When I walked in, my first immediate thought was, «wow, I’m going to love this place.» The interior design is something not seen often in the AV and while walking past and seeing other people’s food, I gave the restaurant high expectations. Everything was great until we ordered, it was a roller coaster ride only going down from that point on. The prices were fairly high but I would’ve been okay with them had the quality of the food lived up to its prices. I saw other reviews and pictures on Unilocal and I was totally drawn into coming here based upon what I saw(not that I’m blaming Unilocal for the bad experience) but ’twas the restaurant that I felt could’ve done a better job with speed, quality and the fairness of the prices.

My family and I went in Friday night to celebrate a special occasion. My husband and I had already heard the food was impeccable but, the service we received trumped even the amazing food! First, I’ll start off with the basics: everyone was super friendly, Kim, our server gave great suggestions and was 100% attentive the entire time, the staff worked so well as a team to make sure our meal was perfect. I was super impressed at how they actually communicated with each other. We were celebrating me passing my nursing boards and everyone genuinely congratulated me on that and my pregnancy. They even brought me a special dessert. The manager came to check on us and answered some questions we had. It was a fantastic night from the second we walked in the door, from the host stand to the bussers boxing up our plates. I want to truly thank them for a fantastic evening with my family and putting a huge«cherry on top» of my already awesome day. Thanks Kim!!!

Come here often I love going Sunday’s cause they have the best chicken fried steak so we go last night and I have been wanting the chicken fried steak I go and order cause I was all happy that I was finally getting it and the waitress tells me sorry we are out of it. I was so mad and wanted to leave. Instead I ordered a cheese burger and fries all I’m saying is don’t offer something on one night only and on that night run out of that shit what made me stay was they have really good cocktails and Brussels sprouts.

My husband and I come here for every anniversary and we’ve absolutely loved it every time. The décor has a classy ranch feel to it. And the staff is so sweet and informative, they really are part of the experience. Now the food, one word delicious. Expensive but delicious. Their specialty drinks range from 9 – 12 bucks but are worth it. They have yummy dessert drinks. You’ll have to come experience for yourself. Highly recommend it.

Greetings and welcome to fine dining in the Antelope Valley? The Broken Bit is a nice enough experience; good food, nice ambiance, good service, no problems there. I’ve had great dining experiences at some of the premier steakhouses across these United States, so perhaps I’m biased. The Broken Bit’s $ 57.00 Bone-In Rib-Eye is terribly over priced for what it is. On this steak the flavor was fine, seasoning, not too bad — a bit heavy on the salt, and it was pretty darn close to a medium rare textbook finish, but it wasn’t very thick. Take that one-piece-of-meat budget to Morton’s, Gallagher’s, Smith and Wollensky’s and you’ll be buying yourself a memorable piece of cow. The waitress came back, after ordering, to tell me that the sides on that particular steak — remember this is a $ 57.00 steak — were NOT included. Fine, I’ll buy them. They’re included on the $ 34.00 rib-eye — which was almost as large as mine — but not on the big boy cowboy cut? The sides were fine, tasty brussel sprouts, great spinach, potato, etc. The crab that was supposed to be in the mushroom/crab appetizer but must have gotten called away for an important meeting… and the presentation was not worth the chef’s trouble, sorry. Remember folks, being hit with a $ 200.00 dinner bill for two people(featuring two glasses of wine and a cocktail for the lady) this establishment is now playing in the big leagues. It’s not the money as much as what you should be experiencing at those prices. So, $ 57.00 the sides should be included as a featured part of the premium experience, and if you’re going to charge big-city steak prices, folks, you better come up with a better plan for your long term survival.

When I want a cheeseburger I want a delicious short rib, flank and brisket burger on brioche from Broken Bit. Best cheeseburger in the AV. Steaks are on point every time. Vegetarian? No problem. They have delicious and interesting vegetable dishes. Our favorite server is Natalie, but Tammy and Erin took excellent care of us. The food is so good and the service rocks. It’s got a super intimate cozy feel with a high end rustic vibe. Great place for a date. Nice wine list, good choice of beers including Hefeweizen and IPA, and a really good bourbon/whiskey list including some from Buffalo Trace. High quality food prepared well. Gorgeous environment.

BACKGROUND: My 1st experience here was December 31st, 2014 for dinner. $ 200 meal(including tip) for a party of 4. Ordered two Pork Shank entrees which were cold in the centers and we sent them back. To top it off, it really didn’t taste that great and fairly bland. Ruthie, the Assistant Manager, read my initial review and contacted me directly to apologize for our experience and encouraged us to give them another shot. On Saturday March 14, 2015, we made a reservation for 6:30PM and the same 4 people came again.(me, my husband, husband’s cousin, and his wife). When we checked in, they told us it would be a short wait before they seated us so we sat down. A family of 4 walked in after us and they DIDNOT have a reservation. The hostess replied that it would be a 2 hour wait and they walked out. So yes, RESERVATIONS are RECOMMENDED! I’m glad that I made one! This time around, our server was Kim. She seemed fairly personable and engaged in conversation. We ordered the following: Cherry Pepsi($ 2.75) Iced Tea($ 2.75) The Bits Onion Straws($ 8.00) Grilled Jalepeno«Poppers»($ 8.00) The Quartz Cowboy Cheese Burger($ 14.00) 8oz Petite Filet Mignon Two 14oz Rib Eyes(@$ 36.00/each) Apple Crisp($ 7.00) ===================== TOTAL ~$ 167(not including tip) Last time the bread was cold, but it was warm this time around. I wasn’t a fan of the Jalepeno«Poppers», but thought the Onion Straws were decent. True to my word(in my earlier review), I ordered the Quartz Cowboy Cheese Burger($ 14.00) which is 8oz premium blend of ground brisket, short rib, and flank steak served on a Brioche bun with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions & Chipotle mayo served with fries. VERDICT: I thought my burger was good. The meat was so flavorful on it’s own, the fries were thick and the ketchup they served with it had some intriguing flavors. I would order it again. Everyone else ordered steaks. They came out okay, not perfect. My husband and cousin got the Mac n’ Cheese for their sides. The pasta was hard and not creamy at all… very dry actually. It tasted better the last time. We ordered the Apple Crisp for dessert again because we loved it so much. However, the single scoop of ice cream is not enough in our opinion(the scoop either needs to be bigger or should be 2 scoops lol). The ice cream melted so fast and the Apple Crisp is so sweet that it really needs the ice cream to pair with. TIPSFORFUTUREDINERS: — — — — — — — — — — — — — – — Reservations are a MUST! — They are only open for dinner. — Expect to pay around $ 150 – 200 for a Party of 4(especially if you are getting steaks and even higher if you order alcohol). The cheese burger is a mere $ 14 and other entrees were around $ 25 – 30 range. — Dinner experience is around 2 hours(Both times, our dinner experience lasted around 2 hours. Our reservation was at 6:30PM and we left around 8:40PM. The entrees took a long time to come out.) Overall, this experience was a bit better than the first, but there were still some«hit and miss». Although, we didn’t have to send anything back this time!
