As an artist, I have seem my share of art galleries and museums all over the world. But this museum, by far, is truly amazing and one of a kind! The work here is absolutely phenomenal! Originality at its finest. The notion«madness is genius» comes alive here in its truest form. Yes, its a bit far from the repitition and chaos of the city, but if you want to get a true feel of art and expression, make time to be mind-blown. You will thank yourself. Enjoy!

This is one of the best museums I’ve ever been to in NYC. The art the have here is better than Moma. The mentally ill have phenomenal imaginations. I was in this museum for 2hours and still didn’t get to c everything. It’s just wow I was shocked they are so creative. I would def buy their Art. I encourage everyone to check it out even tho seeing the patients walk around is very creepy but I only saw 4 in the huge building. One guy I met who I thought was extremely interesting had to be schizophrenic one min he introduced himself as micheal Jackson then 1min in the covo he’s Elvis and Obama was his twin brother said he told Obama he’s gunna be someone one day lol. Funny how his face was so serious but he was a very nice guy. Def will go back one day

Wow! this is an amazing experience that will really have you looking at mental illness and art in a new way. The Creedmore Psychiatric Hospital plays host to a museum of the works of the patients of the hospital and the things they do are amazing. This is not just finger-paintings of clowns crying… this is serious art and some of it really makes you think that maybe all of us who have the ability to eat dinner without sticking the fork in our forehead need to just step away from the paintbrushes and go back to our day jobs… we we don’t got ‘it’ Imagine the kind of sculpture that a schizophrenic could do, or the kind of installation that a Obsessive compulsive could put together and you are getting it. Truly worth the drive
