Be aware when using a credit/debit card, this place is shady trying to steal from other customers to make up losses. I used a debit card to pay for my items, the cost $ 32. Fine. But when he went to swipe the card, he tells me it didn’t go through shows me a torn recipe with no indication that it was declined. I then pay in cash, I check my statements, the amount was fully debited. Not only did he take $ 32 from my card, he got $ 32 in has a total of $ 64 for a salad and some non sense for my child. Never again, they will not rectify this matter. You have been warned.

Poor customer service. Hung up on the phone call. Ignored customers as we were walking in. They didn’t even ask us what we wanted as were standing at the counter.

In an effort for full disclosure and not to be disingenuous. Matthew, the owner of this establishment is a long time friend. He owns, operates and has a position in over a dozen delicatessen restaurants and numerous other food outlets. Food is his business, plain and simple. He honestly is revolutionizing the deli-restaurant business. All of his operations, including this one, focus on healthy, nutritious, top-quality, fast food that caters to a variety of appetites within a reasonable budget. As with most of these types of establishments, expect similarities’ such as Boars Head cold-cuts, chips, macaroni salad and the other basic deli options. However, in Matty’s Deli — you might find a full steam table packed with fresh goodies, a salad bar serving an array of lettuce blends(spicy asiago and avocado chicken salad — yummy!!!). You might even catch one of the workers opening a fresh can of tuna as he makes a wrap. I noticed one of the reviewers even mentioned a lobster soup on the menu. Matty’s Deli’s really has it together and are preparing genuinely good food. Give it ago, who knows; you might even catch me putting away a Philly(only on my cheat days).

Came here on a Sunday morning and wow it was pretty busy. It seems that the chicken breast is pretty popular because everyone ahead of me ordered that so I’ll definitely give it a try. They make a pretty decent sandwich and honestly the prices are really good in comparison to other deli’s I’ve gone to. They also have quite a nice salad bar which I hope to try next time I go. Since its so busy I would definitely call ahead and place my order next time.

Matty’s Deli is a pretty reasonable deli. They have some sandwich specials but it’s nothing extraordinary. If you are looking for a sandwich this place will get the job done.

I just moved to NY from Florida, and my roommates put me on to Matty’s. You really get amazing delicious food for a cheap price. $ 4.95 for a salad with 4 toppings AND grilled chicken…$ 4.95 for a wrap. By far the best deli I’ve been to thus far. We always call ahead, and Eden is the sweetest EVER. Technically, this place is 25 min from where I live, but I’d definitely make the trip.

Working in Jamaica leaves you with only fast food choices for lunch or something heavy, or something that will just ruin your diet alltogether. Luckily I found this deli, they make custom salads & sandwiches. Their toppings are your norm: tomato, chickpeas, corn, olives, cheese, etc. But what made me love them is they have avocado(for a buck extra). I had a chicken salad with avocado for a mere $ 6.40(take that Manhattan prices!), and the chicken tasted fresh off the grill, and perfectly seasoned. I wish they gave you more lettuce in the salad though… but definetly the best salad in the neighborhood. I’ve heard the soup is pretty good, but for sure the salad has got me hooked. Its clean, bright, and fast. I’ll be back here at least a few times a week.

This is an above-average little lunch counter place. They have some junk: pastries wrapped in plastic, Boar’s Head products, the usual. But they also make soup daily on the premises, and the soups are really excellent. Lobster chowder and pumpkin vegetable were both rich and hearty, well-textured and perfectly salted. Cheap too. Staff is very friendly. If you’re passing through and need a bite to eat, this is an excellent choice.
