Rollzip opened four years ago and I thought it was doing well, so it’s hard to believe it’s gone. Outside the restaurant, it looks normal. Except, the flyers are all dated June 2014. If you peek inside, the place is gutted. The cashier counter has been removed. I always took large groups to Rollzip. Their combination platters were the best deal. They also had lots of seating in the back, including benches with pillows. This was a cozy place. Nothing fancy. It had a café atmosphere without the café. They had free wi-fi too. The most unique dish was«Zombie Brains». It was a tempura sushi dish made of fried avocados, and was spicy and crunchy. I’m going to miss that.

I really like the place. Korean or not, I see very diverse people enjoying the food there. I’ve tried a good number of all their kimbap and sushi rolls and kitchen meals, and they’re all outstanding. If you aren’t a picky eater and love to try new things, I strongly encourage you to! They also deliver too(up to 10 blocks away in each direction and a $ 10 order minimum). I could tell that the boss and workers care a lot about their customers and just making them enjoy their time there. Also, every time I go to places to eat, I love seeing the letter A for sanitary inspection, and roll zip always had that when I went! Clean and delicious. Mmm, I’m getting hungry again.

My favorite kimbap/sushi spot in Flushing. I don’t know why some of the people below are giving it bad reviews, because this spot is the best. The workers are super friendly, the food is super awesome, at an ever more rad price. And if you’re a regular they sometime throw in stuff for free. Their interior is super cute, so if you’re at a loss for a first date idea, this is a great spot. I defenitly recommend for people to try it out. One of the better businesses that just opened up :)

Roll zip– the name sounds like this animé that I once watched. This place is nothing cartoonish except for the color scheme but we were looking for a casual place to have dinner in flushing on a friday night and since we were mostly meeting up for dessert my friends and I decided to try Roll zip since we like having kimbap and I am a sucker for rolls so we ended up here. They put all of our rolls together so it looked like a giant platter when it came out. I like sharing this way so I can sneak some of the other rolls my friends ordered. They have many variations of kimbap-the fried kimchi was passable but the mushroom one was very good. The mushrooms were very moist and the shrimp tempura roll was extra extra crunchy which is great because I like a little bite in my food. The playgirl roll is aesthetically pleasing and definitely what I want in a roll the outer layer was rolled with avocado and tuna and there was spicy tuna on the inside. I enjoyed it as well as the hawaiian roll which came topped with pieces of fresh pineapple not that canned stuff a very light tasting roll and very good from the sweet citrusy taste of the pineapple. They have a short list of sashimi but thats why they are called roll zip because they specialize in sushi rolls and kimbap. Their takeout containers only accomodate kim bap sizes so if you want to bring leftovers home you have to mix and match to put it into the container. This is not a highly trafficked area so this place is never really packed. Its right near tasty sweety so we headed there directly after dinner. I just felt like having some plain salmon and spicy tuna rolls so I ordered a combo which includes 2. I felt that during the meal we were given a bunch of extra dishes like the miso soup, a fish cake pancake and a bonito based odeng type soup. The staff was extremely friendly and the roll master/owner even came to talk to us to make sure everything was to our liking. They also have some beers, sake and soju if you want to enjoy the night even more. The couch seating was very comfy but at some points I did feel like a child eating at the kiddies table with the other adults. The couches do make it feel loungey in an 80s sort of way. The food as were their prices were somewhat average but the kimbap was a bit cheaper than the sushi rolls and the kimbap was of course a bit bigger. A good place for rolls if you don’t feel like having all you can eat and not very crowded.

I come here frequently because my office is nearby and I always get the spicy beef kimbap. The order comes with a soup which is really just water and MSG if you think about it. However, the kimbaps here are really good and they make it pretty fast. I’ve tried kimbaps from Kimganae which is hyped a lot. The spicy beef kimbap is nowhere near as good as the ones you can get here. The décor is also very lively and colorful which adds to the positive experience.

THREE: WORDSDEELISHUS! My sister brought a platter home and it was simply divine, Melt in your mouth goodness. And all those sensual rolls!(look at the menu) I didnt even like my favorite standbys of tuna and or california. It would be a waste! We ate a $ 35 platter in less than 30 minutes(3 of us) it was excellent. You’ve got to taste it to believe it. I had the miso soup and the fish soup, yeah it was good. But those ROLLS! I couldnt stop. Im so serious! We went back the next day. Fresh! Innovative, tasty!!! Plated beautifully further complimenting the place. My sister had the guy freestyling rolls and we ate that too!!! We ordered takeout!

Excellent food. Try the Avocado salad– the homemade mustard dressing is fresh light, tasty and has actual mustard seeds in it. Also the chicken teriyaki lunch box is yummy and a great value. It is small place so go during off peak times. Great food, friendly service, overall cute place to stop when you’re in the flushing area:)

Came here on a Friday night during November and it was empty. I actually thought it was self service when I walked in so my friend and I were standing there for a minute before the 2 workers even acknowledged us and told us to sit. Ordered 3 kimbap and a odeng soup. Idk if it’s common but the waiter refilled our soup when we were almost done. I mean it’s pretty much msg anyway but it was still nice of him if it’s not the usual. The kimbaps were not memorable. They tasted normal so I can’t comment too much but really 1 roll per person(assuming you’re a girl like me) is enough. I made the mistake of ordering 2 even though I was very hungry because I’m so use to ordering a few rolls when it comes to sushi. Oops, forgot.

Honestly, I went here because I was too lazy to walk a little bit more to get to Kimganae. So I just ate here with my friend. We shared a spicy rice cake dish with ramyun. The sauce for the rice cake was very sweet which I was not used to at all. They also gave us miso(?) soup. The soup was very powdery and was bland tasting. I just wasn’t feeling it. The food was not good. I was kind enough to give them a 2 star review since everything was mediocre or less. I dont really feel like coming back. I probably will though because I’m a very lazy person. So when I do, maybe I should try other menu options that fellow Unilocalers suggested.

If this business was located in a more spacious area, it would be booming with great business like Kimganae. The food is great. I introduced my boyfriend to this spot & he goes there during his break-time a lot. They create the perfect rolls of kimbap. With the right amount of ingredient(& not a single one missing), rolled with the right amount of pressure, this place makes kimbap delicious ! And if you’re not feeling for rolls, they have common Korean dishes as well. It’s also great that they have TVs for entertainment but I wish the servers wouldn’t be so distracted by them. There was a time when I had to remind the server for the check 3 times & I went over on my break-time.

this place is just soso, I wasn’t too impressed with their sushi or their fried rice. It’s korean style kimbabs so if you like korean style sushi you might like this place. It’s clean and pretty much all self serve, you order and you pick up at the desk. I guess it’s a good choice if you want something quick and simple.

In the last few months I’ve been to this spot more times than I’d like to admit! One would probably not notice the place just walking around, but it’s quite the easy in and out for a quick Korean meal. They have A LOT of kimbap options, my favorite being the squid. My friend ALWAYS orders their kimchi fried rice(so much that the waiter and chef already knows him, haha!). I usually get the yukejang and we split the kimbap. HUGE portions and not pricey. They have a limited amount of beer choices, but it does the job. The décor of the place reminds me of a photography studio for children or even a pre-k classroom. It’s cute and colorful. A major plus is that they also serve sushi and service is QUICK! I find myself wobbling back after every meal asking myself WHYDID I DOTHISTOMYSELFYETAGAIN! Nevertheless, I always find myself back here.

I felt the food here was way better when they first opened. Now after a few months of not coming here the food quality really went down. This time I went in to eat with my friend. I got the spicy squid and the cheese kimbap. My friend got the dumpling soup. We got some of the sides — which were kimchi, some spicy tofu strips, and i don’t remember what else. I saw that we didn’t get given soup and I was like… wtf…although I didn’t say anything. it was then after quite awhile that I got the soup. The soup was your typical miso soup which was not that great. Their spicy tofu strip was good and quite spicy. Even more spicy than their kimchi– their kimchi was good, it had a sweetness to it. So my friend’s dumpling soup came out first. My kimbap took awhile before it actually came out. These ladies that came after us got their kimbaps before I did. I was like wtf… the girl that was working there was all — oh they are making your kimbap now. I thought«what the heck did they make before? « Kimbap did not take long — usually to make . So the service was ehhhhh… Kimbap wasn’t anything special to me, I had better around Flushing. The thing I liked about it tho was that my friend and I sat at the sofa and we stayed there awhile to talk and catch up.

Went in here for dinner on a windy night after looking up «Korean Restaurant» on Unilocal.First impression was good I like the modern simplest décor, the sushi bar is on the left once you walk into the door and the eating area is in the back. Where it looks like a living room. There was also a sofa and a TV to watch UFC. I think we might have crack the bench since 3 of us were sitting there at once. Services was very friendly with us. Accepted credit card. Price was good around my ballpark of $ 8 – 15 for dinner. My friend describe it as «lunch food» since he prefer more of the more heavy sauces dish. I had a pork bulogi and a spicy squiad kimpap, which I really enjoyed. The taste was not as strong(meaning salty, and oily) it was just in my ballpark for taste. The only complaints was from my friend who had the Bibimap w/Hotpot. It was smaller than the regular cold bibimap who an other friend compliment on. It cost more and was not filling. Overall, I really enjoyed the dishes and I look forward for Brunch, Lunch. or Dunch other time.

You like your rolls spicy? Get them here. I got the 4 rolls + dduk bok ki + Fishcake soup to-go. 1. Spicy beef roll– It is REALLY spicy. They put a lot of meat in it as well. It’s not the best beef(it was quite fatty) and it’s so thin and crumbly that you can tell it’s cheap beef, but it’s masked by the spicy sauce it’s cooked in. It made everyone sweat. 2. Spicy tuna roll– The Korean style ones are using canned tuna. It wasn’t as spicy as the beef roll, but it had a kick to it. It’s pretty good. 3. Combination(Salmon roll + spicy tuna roll) — these are raw fish and it’s TINY. The spicy tuna rolls barely had any tuna and salmon roll was lacking salmon. 4. Dduk bok ki– spicy rice cakes with fish cakes. Rice cakes were delicious, but the fish cakes didn’t taste great. Not that it went bad, but they used the non-tasty, cheap kind. Sauce is also VERY spicy. 5. Fishcake soup– Disappointed. Just salty without flavors. 6. Miso Soup– It comes with the rolls when you order it. Miso is pretty watered down. There is no little tofus and it comes with the meal, but I could have done without it. Overall, the food is a-okay. It’s actually kind of pricey for a korean roll joint. Also, korean rolls are bigger in size, but the«Japanese» rolls fell REALLY short and the soups were bleh at best. I may go again for their spicy tuna roll, but I don’t think I’ll be a regular here. One bonus is that they do accept credit card with a minimum of $ 10(which isn’t hard being most of the rolls are around $ 4 – 5 per roll and specialty rolls exceeding $ 10.

I like this place but I always order the Korean stuff, never tried the sushi tho. Sure it’s good. A regular kimbap roll is under 5 bucks and gets me quite full. Comes with soup also. Nice place for quick lunch.

The morning shift Kim Bap chef really skimped out on the tuna, added tons of carrots, and doubled up on the pickled daikon. This bad experience negates my previously positive reviews about this place. I don’t think I’ll be going back any time soon.

First off, this is a Korean spot so it’s not sushi they’re serving it’s KIMBAP. And great kimbap it is! I’ve been craving a solid roll of kimbap since my days traveling Korea and stopping in at GS25 for $ 1 kimbap rolls. This place is very Korean and much more authentic than the midtown K-town restaurants.

I’m very pleased with this place! I’m a HUGE fan of Korean«fast food». The kimbab selections and fish-cake soup were very reminiscent of my days studying abroad in Seoul. I loved the spicy tuna with sesame leaf kimbab(Note: the tuna in kimbabs are NOT like the raw tuna in sushi – it’s actually canned tuna you would put in sandwiches. I know it sounds weird, but it’s really good!) The portions are huge too so one roll of kimbab a person is plenty – about 10 – 12HUGE pieces of kimbab per order?! The sushi rolls here are a bit lacking. Some of them are reasonable for the price, others not so much worth it. I would personally stick with the kimbabs. Also, have not yet tried the entrees other than the refreshing fish cake soup. I would definitely return for some more kimbab! ***PS. $ 15 minimum for Credit Cards!
