Gigi’s isn’t easy to find; it’s a tiny basement place on a side street. But short of the barber school in Quincy Center, he’s the cheapest haircut in the city. Very old fashioned, very thorough. I’d definitely recommend him to anyone who prefers old fashioned barbers to «hair stylists» that charge you three times as much for a simple haircut. It took me a while to find a good new barber after Chick Papile retired, but this was it for as long as I stayed in Quincy. Robert S is right, granted — he’s not much for chattering.

Gigi takes his time, is a scissor man, does not shear you like a sheep in order to get you out of the chair ad quickly as possible, as perhaps some other gentlemen not too far away do. Just don’t try getting him to talk, though. He is like a Sphynx. He must be from a very quiet Italian village.
