This is my idea of the ideal, family-run, neighborhood breakfast and lunch spot. The people who run it couldn’t be friendlier, the food is great, and It’s so inexpensive you feel guilty when they ring you up. There’s even a pastry/dessert case with some great looking Brazilian specialties and a little specialty food shelf with things like casava flour, and palm oil. I ordered the X-Tudo burger with the works – which include bacon, cheese, egg, kernel corn, and crispy little fries piled right into the burger – all served on a sweet roll. I ordered the«normal» as opposed to the«special»(bigger) version and finishing it off was still a challenge. It was a sublime variation on the bacon burger… and cost less than $ 6.00. Not expecting such a feast, I also ordered a pastel appetizer.(A pastel is a fried pastry pouch that can be filled with. just about anything.) Mine included chicken and cream cheese. It reminded me a littler of crab rangoon. Because it was just $ 1.75 I was expecting a bite-sized morsel. Instead it was the size of a license plate. I also ordered what I can only describe as a cashew soda. It was not overly sweet and had a subtle cashew aftertaste… different and refreshing. The ring flan in the dessert case looked amazing and I was told that an entire one is $ 25 and can be ordered ahead. It could easily serve twenty people. Do yourself a favor and check this place out.
