I was very disappointed with both the cut and colour services I received at Louis Anthony. I initially came in for a very simple cut(just a trim essentially) and left with sopping wet hair and paid $ 40 plus tip. 40 dollars plus tip and they don’t even include a blow dry with a hair cut(or even a rough dry!). So I should have cut my losses and gone elsewhere for my colour, but the stylist was extremely friendly and assured me she could match my current colour. She didn’t. I left with roots that did not match my ends. I could have achieved the same results using a box of drugstore hair dye. The stylists and reception staff are very friendly, but I am paying for the services, not the personalities, and this salon did not provide good cut or colour services. Lastly, the owner(an older guy) was a bit creepy and was overly chatty in a weird way while I was waiting in the reception area, going on and on about his unique personality and disclosing his conservative political beliefs which I found intrusive and unprofessional. I would not recommend this salon.

I have been going to Louis Anthony for several years now and I always see Siobhan, I actually followed her from another salon. Maria the receptionist is always nice when I call for an appointment and when I check in/out. Siobhan is amazing I never know what to do with my cut and color and I always leave it up to her. In the approximately 15 years she has been cutting my hair I have never left without being 100% happy with my cut or color. I have sent several friends to her over the years and they all agree she’s the best!

Tanya is the best hair stylist ever. I am very picky about my haircut and she is the one that does everything what I want. Always ask is I am happy when dobe, if I want her to fix something etc… couldn’t ask for better person. Highly recommended.

I got so sick of looking at my dry, brittle hair that I have been trying to grow out this morning, I decided to have it cut and start from scratch. I knew this salon was right down the street and I would drive by and think how nice it looked. I called around noon and asked if there was anyway they could fit me in with anyone. I am so glad I did. They set me up with Siobhan. I told her what I kind of wanted but left it most of it up to her. Glad I did. Such a cute haircut, just what I wanted and needed. Also a big thank you for fitting me in! I found my new hair salon.

I’ve lived in Boston for about 7 years now and always had a hard time finding a salon that actually listened to what I asked for and wasn’t insanely overpriced. I tried trendy salons on Newbury St, I even tried the infamous Shag salon for awhile(I LOVED Shag but they were just too expensive for my budget). I decided to try Louis Anthony since it’s so close to my apartment. Ever since Tanya gave me my first cut, I loved it. I finally found a stylist I trust and I’m happy with the results every single time! She really truly cares about the cut and experience she provides you. Not long ago she asked me «how do you feel about your cut when you go home? Do you still like it? Is there anything you would want me to change?» I’ve never been asked that before. She’s such a doll and you can tell she really cares about making sure her customers are happy. I will go to Tanya for as long as she’s cutting hair! She’s the sweetest!

I have been going to Louis Anthony Hair Salon for several years and have had Tanya for my stylist. I have very long hair which is colored. Consistently, Tanya has been amazingly patient working with me and completely focused on pleasing her clients. She has adjusted my color and, for my son’s wedding, came in to do my bizarre request of sausage curls… twice. I have truly been treated very well by Tanya and am extremely happy with her work. When she was on maternity leave a while back, Michelle did my hair and demonstrated a great depth of education and skill in working with it. Everyone’s friendly, and the place is comfortable and attractive.

I have seen Stephanie at Louis Anthony for roughly the last five years. I was always very afraid of someone severely damaging my hair, but I never had to worry about Stephanie. She cut it exactly how I wanted & did wonderful foils every time. A very wonderful salon overall!

I’ve been going to Michelle Garcia for years, so I should probably write a review now that I joined Unilocal.Michelle is very good at what she does. She listens to what you want and isn’t the least bit pushy the way some hairstylists can be. She is truly a nice person, very friendly and easy to talk to. The reason I keep coming back, though, is that her haircuts are always excellent. I always get compliments on the new cuts. She keeps up with new trends. She knows her stuff. It’s like a Newbury Street haircut, conveniently in Quincy.

horrible. the stylist are old fashioned. michelle did exactly what i asked her not to do. went to get my hair highlighted and it looked so fake and streaky. she didn’t put a toner underneath like i suggested so i looked like my highlights were months old with all the roots showing. over priced waste. i had to go to another salon a week later to get my hair colored so it would look more even. i should’ve asked for a refund!

This was about 2 years ago, but it should still be written about. One day on a whim, I decided to stop in and get a trim. I knew I needed one for a while and felt that it desperately needed to get done right then. I didn’t want to wait another two weeks for when my schedule would be a little clearer. Point is, I wasn’t prepared… I was wearing my glasses and NOT my contact lenses. The salon was nice looking and the waiting area was comfortable. I didn’t have to wait long to get a stylist. When I went back to her station, I had to take my glasses off as for them not to get in the way of the scissors and whatnot… I asked for 1″ off or even less if she could to just clean up any possible split ends and overly dry hair. She said OK, no problem. BIGPROBLEM. She razored off 4INCHES of my hair. She barely used scissors! My vision is pretty horrible without my glasses. I thought maybe she was doing slightly more than an inch, which wouldn’t be so horrible. But really, 4 inches? It was HORRIBLE and it took a long time for my hair to get back to the length I wanted. I had never cried over my hair until then. I will NEVER, EVER go back to this establishment, nor will I ever recommend it to anyone. ETA: The next time I went for a trim(elsewhere of course) I was told that my hair was cut crocked the last time. So yet another reason to never go back here.

I just wanted to leave a good review for this place! I got my prom hair done here years ago and I loved. I had pretty short hair so I wasn’t sure what to do so they put in a bunch of curlers and it looked SO cute! My hair has never been that big and sassy since. I’ve gone there recently and Siobhan has done my hair twice, and I have never received so many compliments. She did a great stacked bob the first time, and this time a shortish semi stacked cut. She does two shades of blonde highlights for me and it comes out so great. I would highly suggest her to any other blondes.

Kudos to Michele Garcia at Louis Anthony Salon. My sister convinced me to try Michele after I was very disappointed by my usual stylist’s latest haircut. Michele didn’t have much to work with — but she worked a miracle. I got compliments on my hair cut — I never have before! Looking forward to having Michele give me a bit of color for the summer… her cut was so good that even with short hair, the cut of nearly two months ago still looks fine!

OK Michelle Garcia is truly a godsend. The last time I went in she thanked me for my Unilocal review! I’m so glad it’s generating a buzz for her. She totally deserves it. I went to Louis Anthony in October to get my haircut and new highlights. Michelle gave me the cut and style I have always wanted but didn’t know I could pull off(I went from wavy, choppy layers to a stick-straight single length style). This new look is so modern and much more grown up. I LOVE it. Michelle also played with high and low lights and the effect is dead on. My hair, even though it’s super straight now(how did I not know how amazing a straightening iron was before??), has so much dimension. I love everything about it. Thank you Michelle!!!
