We’ve always had a great dining experience at The Common Market, for lunch & dinner. Also for a work celebration & wedding rehearsal dinner. Warm hospitality, delicious food, really pleasant colonial décor in the upstairs rooms.

Went to a political fundraiser Thursday October 15. The bartenders were very patient and professional as well as the wait staff. Would definitely recommend.

Had a party for 50 last night. The food I had catered from The Common Market came promptly at the time we agreed on. The presentation was great and the food was delicious. Our favorites were the Bruscetta, Beef Satay, Strawberry/Date flatbread and Buffalo Chicken flat bread pizzas and the Chicken, Ziti and Broccoli in white wine sauce. Sooooooo good! Everyone was raving about it. The Common market made it easy for us to kick back and enjoy the night. Thanks to Carol for helping with the menu. Totally using you again!!!

Husband and I were asked to give this place another shot. Glad we did. We went on a Saturday night around 6:00. They sat us in a room upstairs. There was one other large part in the room and that was it. Waitress came right over and took are drink order. Brought us bread and crackers. Food came out at a reasonable time. Waitress was excellent checked on us through out the meal. The other waitress that had the other tale was also very attentive. Have to say meal was excellent and made up for the bad experience we had the last time.

I went here for a nice dinner for a special occasion. I was seated in the café paris section. he décor was nice but dated. Cleanliness ok, wine glasses had spots and One big spec. I had a filet mignot supposed to be medium but came out charcol on outside almost raw in the middle. My GF got chicken parm. It was average at best. The huge portion would feed 3 people. Quantity cannot make up quality. The salads we ok. Ranch dressing good. Service average. Karaōke in bar next door ok. Drinks ok. Didn’t send back steak cause I did not want GF eve spoiled by this. Can not recommend this place for dinner. Bar is good for older karaōke fans.

What is the problem with the service? Waited over an hour for salad and rolls but the drinks were lickity split. HMMMM wonder what that means??? Food finally was delivered in another half hour and wasn’t enough to make us go back. So, with all the competition, looks like we are headed elsewhere. Too bad, like to support locals but not necessary at this point.

I ate there on 11÷9÷13. The service was terrible from the host to the waitress. Very, very slow. Both waited on us and then proceeded to wait on other patrons at the same time. The hostess was not warm and welcoming. The tables are two close together — to the point where the waitresses and other patrons bump into you when walking by your chair. We were seated for a while before the waitress asked us for a drink other. Instead, of submitting our order at the bar, she waited on a least one other table. She had to reach over people to when serving the drinks and the meals. She was very loud. I like the idea of not being rushed during dinner, but things were at a standstill too often. The food was okay to good, but nothing to rave about. I won’t be going back. They definitely need to put more space b/w tables. I don’t like someone’s stomach or backside rubbing against me or my chair.

I haven’t gone to the restaurant part but I have been to multiple showers at The Common Market in the function rooms and love the place! My baby shower will be there as well and I am really excited about it! They have really good food, service and they set up the room exactly how you want it. I have never heard a bride or mother to be complain about having their shower there and I helped plan a few there so I would know. The prices can’t be beat as well which is an even bigger bonus :) :)

One of the women who works at the Italian food section gave me the WORST attitude. I am vegetarian and asked if their pasta was meatless. She said that it is a meat-based sauce. When I said that the week prior I ate it because another staff member told me it was meatless she then replied, «You’re still alive». I don’t want to knock the ENTIRE Common Market because of this rude woman, but I was very upset by her attitude. I don’t eat meat because of my love for animals, so he response was very insulting and IGNORANT. Also very annoyed by the woman who had told me it was a meatless sauce — shouldn’t they know about the food they are serving!!! This happened about two years ago so I am unaware if this staff member still works there, but clearly it was upsetting to me if I can still remember it so clearly! Poor customer service!

There are three restaurants in this particular part of Common Market. I’ve been to all of the establishments at different times. Tonight I got things from«Fish N Chicken»(grilled sesame chicken dinner) and it was fantastic. From«Healthy Kitchen» this time around I got the Cajun salmon and it was terriffic! I must say I was a little disappointed because of it being ‘farm-raised’ fish, but I understand they are a commercial venture and very likely have to purchase in super large bulk. I normally stay away from farm-raised fish cuz that’s really a nice way of saying over-crowded, overly medicated fish. I hate that, but– it is what it is. Aside from all that, this place is really great! Food is high quality and prepared very, very well. The yogurt bar is great as well. Every part of Common Market is superb! Go here!

We had my grandfathers funeral reception at The Common Market today. This was my first time here and it will be my last. The food was so bad on so many levels! For starters, the rice was way over cooked and mushey. The chicken marsala was not good either, I couldn’t put my finger on why, maybe too salty. The fish was absolutely horrible! It was beyond a shadow of a doubt the smallest, driest fish I have ever eaten In my life! The ice cream took the cake! They charged us an additional $ 2 for«dessert» for each person. What we got was a mouthful size bowl of, what tasted like chocolate soft serve frozen yogurt. Furthermore, it was as hard as a rock, They must have put it in the bowl then put it in the freezer. Nobody could even eat it! Needless to say, the soft serve wasn’t so soft! On a more positive note, I ate the penne pasta, that wasn’t too bad. It almost tasted like it had lamb in in and I love lamb. The coffee was good too. I had a lot of it. However, I would not have another function here regardless of how good the price,

I came by the Chowder House last night with my wife Service was the worst in my life! We just had our second daughter last month so it was a big deal to get out For dinner we sat at about 6:45pm we were not greeted until 7:10 by Joanne We had drinks by 7:30pm We had our dinner order in at 7:45 We came in knowing what we wanted and we were out of there at 8:25 I had the Lobster Newburg and my wife had the baked scallops The food was amazing, I liked the appetizers and the salads and entrees Even the drinks were ok The check # was 1928 if you want to verify what I am telling you I am just disappointed because the slow service seemed to be going on next to us as well(it was a different server the older couple at the table complained to us) This really ruined our rare night out together Matthew Quincy Ma

Went to the Common Market today for their Easter Buffet. we have gone there in the past and found it to be fair. When we made our reservations we told them that we would have 2 elderly and one disable person in the party who could not walk any distance or do stairs. Each year we enter through the pub and are seated down stairs. Today I got a perfect space right next to the pub door, when we went in we were told they were not having a buffet downstairs and the lift was in the front of the building. So we walked my elderly Mother and Aunt and myself(I am on oxygen) to the front of the restaurant to use the lift. We were taken upstairs and seated. The glasses that were on the table were to say the least disgusting, they looked as if they had been used and never washed. We then went to the buffet and had to sort through the dishes provided to find one that didn’t still have food on it. After all this the food was sub par at best.
