Clueless or deceiving cash hogging techs… I brought my ’07 eclipse to them on a Saturday morning to have an aux audio input cable installed to my stock Rosford gate audio receiver(upgraded audio stock package) or simply have it replaced with another receiver that had an aux audio port built into it. The audio link cable was still in its original packaging with an electrical/installation diagram on the back, but the service tech glanced over the product and said he couldn’t do it. Instead, I went with installing the new receiver which required the purchase of a new DIN to mount it(which was very reasonable). After three hours, the installation was complete. Initial testing in the parking lot indicated no problems, but he showed me that he left another LENGTHY exposed wire for a switch that connected my receiver to my E-brake. He explained if I were to use the video on my receiver, I would have to be parked with the E-brake engaged… of course, he thought running a wire long enough that could snag on just about anything was a great idea. Additionally, he thought it was a great idea to leave my 8″ subwoofer on the lowest possible setting apparently because the bass was firing too loudly for him… I paid the fee of $ 80 and quickly left to take care of the rest of my day. Driving back onto the base, I noticed that there was substantial feedback coming through every speaker that completely distorted any audio device. I called right away explaining the noise to the same tech and scheduled another appointment. The tech absolutely had no idea what was going on nor did he know how to troubleshoot the problem. Note that this process took 2 ½ hours… I then asked if the original receiver could be installed so it was like I was never at Audio To Go but the tech wanted another service fee of $ 80 and a few more hours so I left. My problems were solved when I ran into a buddy of mine in the parking lot of the barracks. I explained the problem with Audio To Go and he literally fixed it in 8 minutes after telling him I just wanted to have an aux input cable attached to my original Rosford gate receiver. He pointed out the shoddy hanging video cable wire and switch(that was connected to my E-brake). He also pointed out that the original plastic wrapping for the wiring harness on the new receiver was still on telling me that it was definitely a fire hazard. It’s been over a year since then and my audio system has been functioning perfectly with absolutely no thanks to the aloof crooks at Audio To Go.
