Ed sold me a Mt. Fuji in 1986 when I was a student at N C State. I stopped in on a recent trip to to Raleigh. Stoked to see Ed still holding it down after all these years. Theres your review. He has more bicycle knowledge in his spoke wrenchs than all these new hipster shop owners put together. Good owner, time proven products, good service and prices, incredible bicycle knowlege.

I absolutely love this bike shop! I had a damaged frame that I brought in to be assessed for warranty repair, and they handled the entire process(outside of my initial dealings with the manufacturer/and original shop of purchase). I paid a reasonable fee for the necessary parts and reassembly on my new warranty frame, and I was reunited with my new bicycle in a very short amount of time. I’ve dealt with a lot of pretentious and overpriced bike shops in my life, and I could not be happier with what I’ve experienced at Cycle Logic.

Took my bike here to be assembled for $ 50 after ordering online. After assembly the bike with internal gear hub wouldn’t shift down, had brakes rubbing, and cam shaft was over tight. It’s like the team here didn’t ride it before handing it over. Cost me another $ 80 at another bike shop to get it fixed. Avoid this place in my experience

My fiancé and I had a great experience purchasing bikes from Cycle Logic. We are beginning bikers, who didn’t know very much about bikes before going into Cycle Logic. Minori was very helpful and non-pushy or sales-oriented. She gave us a little education on the types of bikes we were looking at, set us up with a few to take out for a test ride, and showed us some quick tips once we selected our specific bikes. She also threw in a few minor accessories with our purchase and took a nice discount off a few other things we bought. Looking forward to having Minori and Cycle Logic maintain our bikes in the future and will update my review if necessary. Side note: This was the second local bike shop we went to and my fiancé actually had purchased a bike at the first shop. The service and knowledge of Minori caused her to change her mind and return the first bike that day.

Went in for a quick repair to get my brakes fixed. They did it on the spot and hooked me up with some free chain lube.

Went in to have my bike looked at after recently buying off craigslist. The 2 guys sitting around in the place didn’t budge from their chairs as they took turns judging the quality of the bike in a very rude demeanor. I walked in to give them business, they could have cared less. Never go here.

Very upset with this place. I took my bike in on a Tuesday for a simple tune up because the rear brakes were beginning to give me trouble. The man quoted me $ 35 for the tune up, which he said included brake repair. In general he was very curt with me and not very friendly or polite. I come in on Friday to get my bike and once again wasn’t greeted very well. Then when he found my receipt, he told me that my total was $ 56! I told him that couldn’t be right and looked at the receipt to see they had completely replaced my brakes for an additional $ 21 without asking me first. He had been very misleading when quoting me the price and I was furious. On top of that, on the ride home my newly«fixed» brakes were squeaking and whining the whole ride and are barely better than before. The only thing I felt improved was the tire pressure, which I could’ve done myself. NEVER going here again. There are so many other options in Raleigh you can choose, unless you don’t mind being ripped off and treated poorly.

I recently stopped by this shop with a bike that turns out needed a minor adjustment. I had received the bike as a gift which showed up in a box. I got it mostly together and then had a tune up done on it at another shop downtown Raleigh. When I took it out for its virgin ride I noticed that the front tire was catching on the frame so I immediately stopped riding — I noticed the rubber from the tire was shaving off. On my walk back home(about 2 miles) I came across this bike shop and took it in. The gentleman, seemingly knowing that the bike was not«one of his» and clearly out of a box snidely remarked«you better take that back to where you had it tuned. Those guys are not professional mechanics»(which is not true). I am not so stupid to know that all that was needed was the tire to be adjusted — which took me five minutes to do when I got home — which I was happy to do on my own. However, being in the service industry myself, I would have handled that entire situation differently. I probably would have, at the very least, handed the potential customer a wrench to fix the wheel instead of sending him on his way. Perhaps, had I had a «better bike» I would have been treated differently. This is the first time I have taken time to write a review on Unilocal and sadly, as with many other first timers, it is because I had a less than experience — rather than a great one. I certainly will never return to Cycle Logic. Though they may have been around since before the«hipsters» as other reviewers have mentioned — I certainly didn’t feel welcome with my bought in a box bike.

Great prices and very laid back. I bought a bike there and realized when I got home it was too big(it was my fault). Two days later I swapped it out with no hassle. I also had them tune up my wife’s old mountain bike — 30 bucks and ready the next day. Worked perfectly.

My husband and I bought new bikes here a few weeks ago, and the owner and a young guy working there were as friendly and helpful as can be. They threw in discounts on our bike locks and helmets, even though we were already getting a great deal. CL’s prices are great, and the staff, contrary to what some reviews have said, is very friendly. Highly recommended!

I have to agree with Brian’s review below… luckily for Cycle Logic the«hipster bike craze» has gotten out of control around here, and that’s what CL seems to specialize in these days. I got into fixed-gear biking(WITH A BRAKEAND A HELMET) waaay back, before anyone around here knew what a «Pista» or «Critical Mass» was — I know, I’m a pretentious bastard. I had to buy my Bianchi on a trip to Chicago in the early 2000’s because there was no dealer nearby(and as far as I know, there still isn’t). I bought a Diamondback mountain bike from CL in the mid-2000s, and was pleased with my purchase. They threw in a «free» helmet and water bottle — I say«free» because it was either that, or they’d take(I think) 20 bucks off. Thank god for the helmet though, as I proceeded to bust my ass several times on the local trails, cracking my head every now and then… which might explain a few of my shortcomings. My fiancé took her bike to CL a few months ago to have some fenders installed. The price they quoted seemed reasonable, but, to my surprise, the workmanship was shoddy at best. Not long after having them installed, my lovely gal experienced loosening of the fenders, which led to them rubbing on her tires, and almost causing her to bust ass while riding at a steady clip down Hillsborough Street — that’s right, SHARETHEROAD. In the future, I’ll probably steer clear of CL, and go to the local co-op instead for repairs. As far as purchasing equipment, as much as it pains me to say this, I’ll probably go to REI, as most of the locally-owned bike shop personnel seem awfully jerky these days. Perhaps that’s a product of the facepage generation and the«I’m better than you» attitude everyone seems to have around here.

Cycle logic has been here since way before the hipster bike craze came to Raleigh. My grandfather took me here to buy a bike when I was something like nine years old. They know bikes, and they have a lot of them. They also will teach you to fix your bike. In fact, they made us learn to fix the bike before they’d let us leave the store. The bikes they carry tend to be a bit on the pricier side, but only because they happen to carry high quality bikes. It’s not any more expensive than other high-end cycling shops, or even than REI for that matter. Parking can be a bit of an issue, but there’s a lot across the street that works pretty well.
