Stopped in while we were on Glenwood Avenue and searched for coffee on Unilocal! What a gem of a place tucked in an unassuming shopping center. The place had an eclectic vibe and I was overwhelmed by coffee choices and even more looking at the range of teas they offer. The place had bistro tables, comfy chairs and couches and was mostly occupied by people accompanied by their laptops. I kept changing my mind standing in the queue. I was also distracted by the coins and bills they had on the counter from across the globe. The place was full of regulars as barista seemed to know everyone ahead of me in the queue. Which is a god sign always! The barista was super friendly and we ordered for an Americano and a latte. Nothing fancy but both our coffees were spot on. I wish we lived closer I would drop by a lot with a book in tow. Nice touch is once you order at the counter you can take a seat and your coffee will be delivered to you.

The bad: Non-Existent. I nor my family felt welcome. Very cold staff here. If only they smiled or greeted you. They just look at you and wait for you to spit your order. The good: The bacon, egg, cheese and chipotle mayo croissant. Not sure if it’s good enough to warrant a return, as I am big on customer service. I hate it too… because they’re located right down the street from me.

Coffee was decent, but service was not. Girl at the front acted like we ruined her night when we walked through the door. No smile, no thanks, no ‘you’re welcome’, you know, the manners you learn when your a child. It was like she was doing us a favor to take our order. Then on top of that they were out of some of the basics, no decaf teas, no honey. Its too bad, seems like a nice clean place, they just need to find employees that understand what customer service is.

The BEST!!! My go to coffee house in Raleigh! Come at least twice a week every week they have awesome coffee, but their breakfast sandwiches are the best thing I’ve ever had, ever. Make sure you add the Chipotle Mayo!!!

I normally love this place. The coffee is good quality, and generally speaking, I can get in and out, which I need. However, today I asked for a splash of vanilla syrup in a cold brew coffee, and they told me they«don’t do that.» This isn’t the first time I’ve been told that I can’t have my drink flavored. I understand that sometimes it takes away from the drink and all that, but as a paying customer, I would think I could get what I prefer. I don’t go out of my way to get to this place anymore.

Love this place. Feel like NWC is a little overlooked by those unfamiliar, but not under-appreciated by customers who have been there before. The breakfast sandwiches are awesome! Try the bacon, egg and cheese croissant with chipotle mayo — you won’t want to mess around with anything else after you do. And of course the drinks are solid, it’s what they do. Easy parking. Pretty quick service that is helpful and friendly. Lots of space inside to sit, chat and work.

This place has friendly faces, fresh local coffee, and delicious eats. Cool local spot that doesn’t feel like it’s trying to be too hipster. One of my favorites!

Service was awful. I tried to order a coffee with a steamed soy milk topper and was told they couldn’t do it… I politely said I would pay for a latte, I just wanted less milk and coffee rather than espresso. I was rudely told«we don’t do that here,» once again, which is total bullshit. Sorry guys– but give the customer what they want!

Better than Starbucks… The coffee is tasty, the atmosphere is quiet(nothing too fancy, but it’s not ugly either), and a decent sized selection of food. I had no issues with the wifi here. It did take quite some time for our drinks to be made, but I wasn’t in a rush. Years ago, this used to be my go to coffee place in Raleigh, but I feel the atmosphere and coffee have stayed a bit average given the prices. There are other cute coffee shops with tasty coffee and other treats in the area with nicer staff. It is usually quiet when I come here, so it’s a nice place to write, but it can feel a little stifling given the shotgun nature of the shop. The parking sometimes stinks, too, given the cramped strip mall it’s stuck in. Definitely a solid choice for coffee and other drinks if you’re in the area, but not a coffee shop to drive out of your way to(true confessions, I drive past this place on the way to my new regular coffee shop).

The atmosphere is decent, and seating space abounds. However, what prevents this establishment from having broader appeal like its competitors is the staff. They prevent you from ordering a drink the way you desire(say skim milk over whole). While I understand the logic, the problem is that it fails to consider health reasons and taste preferences of a customer. I ordered a cappuccino with skim, and all I got was a low quality drink with milk poured into it. Really unacceptable. If the owner truly cared about his product, staff would ensure that any product was quality and crafted with care. This attitude clearly demonstrates they don’t understand coffee and it’s meaning to people. The owner and his staff could use a good lesson in customer service!

This used to be my favorite coffee shop in town years ago, and even though it was a bit of a haul from my place, I went there anyway because it was that good. Apparently they’d gotten bought out and the food and service went downhill. Now it’s just another humdrum coffee shop with nothing special going for it.

Boyfriend and I stopped by here for some caffeine and ordered our standard caramel latte. Pretty good. This place is very small though, and sort of dark(not a lot of sunlight/windows.very much reminds of a college coffee shop). You look around and a lot of the patrons seem to be those that spend hours here on their laptop, or reading a novel, etc. so I’d come here if I wanted to just relax and stay awhile. We also tried their peanut butter cookie. wouldn’t recommend: very crumbly, most of it ended up all smashed in pieces in the plastic wrap. Will come back to try those almond cookies everyone raves about.

Awesome lattes/coffee, a bit pricey but worth it. Food is OK, but not worth the time or money in my opinion

I am a regular and always enjoy my visits. Great staff, I had an interesting conversation about the flavors of coffee and wine. I do a lot of work here and can always find a table/booth and enjoy the variety of food and drink options.

Maybe I’m missing something but I wasn’t impressed. We walked in and felt like it was more about the«scene» and coziness(which it is) than the coffee but I could be wrong. $ 8 for two iced coffees with a ton of ice and 3 tiny almond cookies(which were yummy) was a bit much for me. I’m no coffee connoisseur but I just didn’t like the cold pressed coffee. I find Caribou to be better tasting to be honest. Strange that they keep the milk at the register. I think I’ll give it another try and go for a hot cup next time but it just didn’t tickle my pickle. :)

Dropped in here to read a book. The place is nestled between 2 food joints. They have plenty of options when it comes to their mocha flavors. The staff were friendly and explained what each one were. What I found amusing was that they were not amused by the necessity to have different flavors: p I ordered the cold Katan Mocha(might have misspelt) and some almond cookies to go. I found the Mocha to be creamiest that I have ever had. However, my wife was quick to add that they have added a lot of cream to the Mocha which is very unlikely. But tasted good ! The almond cookies is a disappointment. They have generously used butter which can be sensed in every bit. Totally, killed the almond flavor. Bottom line: Grab a coffee and start your work!

The coffee is so good here it’s ridiculous. Whether it is the ice cold brew or the latte, this coffee is strong and legit. Their sandwich menu is unique albeit basic. But their breakfast sandwiches are to die for! Everything is made fresh and is tasty. The chickpea salsa is my favorite side by a mile. The location is cozy, and a definite go to spot for me if I’m around this part of town. The ambiance is casual and I love the local photography and artwork which is available for purchase.

Came by to catch up with a friend and she recommended we stop here. It’s very cozy with plenty of space to work, study or chat it up with a friend like I did! I tried the strawberry mango smoothie and it was delicious! My friend had a chai latte and she also enjoyed it very much. I appreciate all the attention that goes into each order! Look forward to visiting again!

I can’t get enough of this place. New World is hands down my favorite coffee joint in the triangle, and I’ve been to my fair share(considering checking out coffee shops is one of my hobbies). If it wasn’t for the distance I would probably go here every day. However, I have to limit my trips to when I want to indulge in one of their amazing traditional lattes or when I run low on beans for home. What I love most is that the people here really know and care about their coffee. They literally don’t sugar coat it(which I also love), so if you’re looking for some toothachingly sweet Starbucks concoctions, look elsewhere. Actually, even if you’re a Starbucks junkie or are used to your usual place, I still say give New World a fair shot. I’ve never had a better plain old latte than I have here; it really doesn’t need anything else. With all these new coffee places opening up and trying to stay modern and relevant, I can appreciate that there are no gimmicks here. Just good old-fashioned coffee and espresso prepared with expertise. I’ve never had the food, but the menu is simple and intriguing(homemade chipotle mayo sounds so delicious). Once in a while I’ll have a plain or almond croissant. The almond croissant has a beautiful presentation, drizzled with flaked almonds, copious amounts of honey, and powdered sugar. Goes well with a coffee.

When I lived by New World a couple of years ago, I absolutely loved the place. I still come here a lot because I really like the ambiance. I get a lot of work done sitting at one of the tables or I even just watch Netflix on a cozy chair. They have pretty good food(food food like sandwiches but legit yummy ones) for a coffee house as well as some pastries. If you like butter like I do, then get the almond butter cookies! 3 for $ 1. I usually always get tea here because I’m not sure what kind of coffee to try. And to be honest, despite how many times I’ve frequented this place, I don’t think anyone has tried to help me make a decision about coffee. I’ve heard a lot about the owner Mike and how passionate he is about good coffee. Never met him, but I’ve definitely seem him around. New World is a chill place with good drinks/food. I haven’t yet found a café that beats the atmosphere here, so New World is my go-to.
